  1. It would be great to be able to remove past employees from the drop-down menus when generating Payroll reports. This would be particularly helpful for businesses who employ a lot of staff members, especially if there's a high churn rate.

  2. I think it would be a good idea to facilitate the location of payroll reports. Please could you create a link to payroll journals within the payroll "journal reports".
    Secondly, it would very useful to be able to amend a payroll journal report, if needed.

  3. Projects is configured to only allow the reporting currency to be used in setting rates or quotes.
    It would be great to allow the user to select the quote currency.

    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice not approved
    Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice or draft bill (not approved and therefore not posted into the books of account).

    For example I would like to see what impact certain entries would have on a balance sheet or income statement but dont want to approve them only to see the impact and then subsequently void or reverse them if I am, say unhappy with the outcome ? I…

  5. STP2 Allowances. Not reportable at W1 should push that information through with STP, but it doesn't. Using reimbursements as a work around is not good enough - better syncing is needed.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your interest and good to see how we can be expanding capabilities for our users across the world.
    While we don't have plans of developing this in Xero, we have recently partnered with Parolla to offer a connected plug-in to your Xero organisation at no additional charge to users with an Ireland based org.
    Connected to Xero, Parolla will generate VAT3 returns for direct upload to Revenue Online Services, as well as generating Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) compliant payment files - Find out more here

  8. We run multiple branches out of one Xero ledger. We find the income and expenses by contact report very handy to track sales data, however it would be much more useful if we were able to filter by tracking catagory (for our instance we track branch locaiton).

  9. Add an option to find all transactions by Item Code

    Example: I recently had a client who put the wrong sales accounts on some of their inventory items but had been making sales transactions for 14 months without noticing. The P&L did not accurately reflect the sales of the actual inventory categories because of this.

    There is currently no ability to find all the transactions by inventory item code to quickly recode the original transactions.

    I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.

    The recent shift to new reports has not considered the Bank Summary Report. It is an important report in the sense that it tracks movements and balances for all the banks.

  14. Suggestions to improve the reporting of GST Audit Beta

    1. Allow us to select which Tax Codes to display in report (default All)

    2. Show the tax code in each row rather than as a report subheader. Useful when there are lots of records for some tax codes

    3. I noticed that we can select Reference field for the columns, but not Invoice No. If the entry's Ref field is blank, the report shows the Invoice No. So this is misrepresenting the report, and showing inaccurate results as no one analysing the report would know if they are seeing the Ref…

    Appreciate the feedback here, community. I want to assure you product ideas in the forums here are a primary source for our product teams when planning development and diving deeper into improving the experience for our customers when using Xero.

    I can understand it may feel that things aren't moving as quickly on ideas you'd like to see developed however you can filter ideas by Working on it to get a sense of ideas from our community that are being worked on, or Delivered for ideas we have released solutions for.

    It really helps having only 1 idea per post in the forums here so others in community understand what they're adding their vote for, and our product teams to get a sense of the interest from our customers in a specific feature.

  15. Cost analysis by group type, e.g. we have a group for DD suppliers. It would be useful to analyse how much we spend by group over a set period. We are looking at setting up other groups soon so this would be very helpful.

  16. While reviewing the short-term cash flow report, a client may realise that there is a bottleneck and spread out some bill payments by changing the payment dates. It would be great to be able to do this from within the Short-Term Cashflow (on the same screen that the issue is identified) to see the results immediately and the improvement in cash flow.

  17. Re: Handling of Mutly-currency/translating foreign currency amounts into the functional currency

    Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.

    A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.

    This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
    As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.

    Sorry we've not updated on this idea sooner.  

    We've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 - 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date within your organisations Financial Settings.  

    To confirm the work in this space - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings in Xero, so you can add start and end dates to different periods. 

    This change impacts multiple areas of Xero;   

    • Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.  
    • The same story will apply in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.

  20. Knowing that FX disclosures were expanded to several reports. However, it is awkward when the Adviser report comprises of Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Statement of Changes in Equity, Statements of Cash Flows and Notes to the Financial Statements, only the first two reports are able to be presented in other currency (Eg. SOFP & SOCI presented in USD but SOCE, SOCF and Notes in MYR). Can Xero enable the function of FX in every page of the adviser's report? Thank you.
