  1. We need to know how much to provide for on the balance sheet for annual leave and long service leave each month and track these for our financial statements. All the information is available via Xero payroll (leave balances and pay rates for each employee as well as leave accrued and leave taken) but in order to account for this correctly we are expected to export reports and do the calculations ourselves. And we need to maintain external files to reconcile this to each month.

    Hi Candice, this is already possible. There is a link that you can choose to include when sending an invoice to a customer from Xero that they'll be able to click through and view all outstanding invoices they have with you - See more on this here

    For security the user email that clicks on the link will need to be listed on the contact record in your org, otherwise they'll receive an error. 

  3. Could the VAT transactions report in the VAT return include the invoice number as well as or instead of the reference?

    This would make the review to see if there are any missing invoice numbers much simpler. Our invoices are created in another software package by a number of people who sometimes include text as well as the invoice number and it makes sorting by numerical order time consuming. Having the invoice number as a field would make it very easy to sort in numerical order and identify missing numbers.

  5. The Trust - Annual Accounts Xero SPFR template for trusts > Notes to the Financial Statements > 1. Reporting Entity states "Legal or Trading Name is a trust established by a trust deed dated [insert field: trust deed date], and subject to the Trustees Act 1956." this is incorrect as the Trusts Act 2019 passed on 30 July 2019 has replaced the Trustee Act 1956.   6. Currently when paying activity statement obligations, you need to manually create a bill or split the payment to the various tax components. These amounts are already in the Activity Statement, so it would be useful to be able to create the bill from the finalised activity statement. This would help business to reconcile ATO payments, and to manage their cash flow as they can see when tax payments are due from their bills report.

  7. Where there is more than one bank account in an organization, it would be very useful to be able to filter out a particular Cat Code, separately , within each bank account. Currently one gets the entire Cat Code for the entire organization, showing all the bank accounts. Also, the column "Tax" remains blank when a bank account's reconciliations for the date selected are chosen. Please see my uploaded example of just one bank account's reconciliations, which contains every transaction, but no tax shown.   8. Cost analysis by group type, e.g. we have a group for DD suppliers. It would be useful to analyse how much we spend by group over a set period. We are looking at setting up other groups soon so this would be very helpful.

  9. Ability to create custom formulas in reporting, specifically to be able to (+) some accounts and (-) others. Support referred to this as custom complex formulas, but it is a simple formula. We just need to be able to customize them.

  10. We run multiple branches out of one Xero ledger. We find the income and expenses by contact report very handy to track sales data, however it would be much more useful if we were able to filter by tracking catagory (for our instance we track branch locaiton).

  11. The default on the trial balance report is one year. This should be customizable to make it easier for reporting extended and shortened accounting periods. It would also help more complex and larger businesses using Xero for their quarter/month-end reporting and analysis.

  12. It would be handy if account transaction list that shows when you click on your bank account could be modified to include / remove different fields so that you can see information that you would like to see when looking at bank transactions without having to create a custom report.

  14. Ability to see Header rows and side columns on all screens when scrolling

    As per Microsoft Office where the top and side ribbons remains static.
    e.g. When you're in the Dashboard and scroll down it would be good if the top ribbon is static. It makes it easier to select another item (business; accounting; contact etc) without having to scroll up.

    The same with Bill Payments; Invoicing; reports etc where the top ribbon and column headers - see attached - would remain static as you scroll down the list.

  16. I would really like to see something similar to the sorting function on the Account Transactions report applied to the Transaction by VAT box and Transactions by tax rate pages on the VAT returns. This would make them so much easier to review, rather than exporting them to excel.

  17. When you select reports and it says current month, it is not the current month it actually goes back from the day you create a report to the previous month. When it says current month I would expect it to be current month. See samples below where I have gone to the report and changed it to select date range and it should show current month but it doesn't

    Hi Sue,

    I can see from your screenshots you've used the 'Select date range' option. As you've found, this defaults to a ~30 day period back from the day you've run the report. This is a bit of a quirk of the 'Select date range' dropdown. 

    However, I can confirm that if you use the date range 'This Month' your reports will return information for this calendar month instead.

    To confirm this, you can post future dated pay runs for the same month, and they'll appear in your reports when run for 'This Month' but not 'Select date range'.

  18. STP2 Allowances. Not reportable at W1 should push that information through with STP, but it doesn't. Using reimbursements as a work around is not good enough - better syncing is needed.
