Ability to see Header rows and side columns on all screens when scrolling
As per Microsoft Office where the top and side ribbons remains static.
e.g. When you're in the Dashboard and scroll down it would be good if the top ribbon is static. It makes it easier to select another item (business; accounting; contact etc) without having to scroll up.The same with Bill Payments; Invoicing; reports etc where the top ribbon and column headers - see attached - would remain static as you scroll down the list.

Reporting - Better filtering in Reconciliation Reports
Where there is more than one bank account in an organization, it would be very useful to be able to filter out a particular Cat Code, separately , within each bank account. Currently one gets the entire Cat Code for the entire organization, showing all the bank accounts. Also, the column "Tax" remains blank when a bank account's reconciliations for the date selected are chosen. Please see my uploaded example of just one bank account's reconciliations, which contains every transaction, but no tax shown. Reporting - Inventory Item Summary to include untracked purchases in Cost of Goods Sold
There is no reason to override a cogs associated account to a purchase account in the inventory item summary.
The suggestion is to allow the inventory item summary report to report on items as they are actually tracked on the P&L meaning material purchases are a cogs and should show in the cogs on this report.

Bank | Reconcile period - Prevent bank feeds impacting reconciled period
BRAND NEW RECONCILE PERIOD - when a period is 'reconcile' and a report is created it should really prevent bank feeds from interfering. I am told by Xero support this was not considered in the creation of this new feature even though it locks the account separate to the 'financial settings' what is the point if it allows other information to be added once the account is reconciled??

VAT Return(SA) - Sort by column header
We need the ability to sort the data in the VAT Report table.
This will make it much easier to review all the transactions to check that everything has been properly allocated.

Bank Feeds - Customise fields in the Account Transactions tab
It would be handy if account transaction list that shows when you click on your bank account could be modified to include / remove different fields so that you can see information that you would like to see when looking at bank transactions without having to create a custom report.

VAT returns - Filter 'Transaction by VAT' and 'Transactions by tax rate' pages
I would really like to see something similar to the sorting function on the Account Transactions report applied to the Transaction by VAT box and Transactions by tax rate pages on the VAT returns. This would make them so much easier to review, rather than exporting them to excel.

History & notes - chart of accounts
It would be great (if not already available - I can't find it) to get an audit report whereby we can see changes made to a set of accounts after they have been submitted.
4 votesHi team, we're currently working on an update to the History & notes report that will allow users with the Adviser role in an organisation the ability to view the account when there has been a change to the Name or Type of the account from the report, without having to click into the line item.

Reporting - Option to extract transaction details without subtotals and formatting to support pivot analysis
Most often when I extract XERO finance reports I have to strip out all of the headings and totals in order to get to the raw transaction data for further pivot analysis and data refinement. Having a raw data dump (i.e., excel or csv format) as an option to the formatted files would save considerable time for users doing pivot analysis, multi period or year comparisons, adding calculations and additional columns, preparing charts, and just trying to summarize the data in a different way.

I'd like to create some customised reports for particular costs and wondered if there's any option to just report on some costs of the business without having to lump all the other ones somewhere

Reconciliation - Change reporting date for reconciliation of checks
When I enter the month of the bank statement with the bank statement beginning and ending balances and want to make sure all of the transactions from that month's bank statement are accounted for, checks that were written in a previous month but not posted in the bank statement until another month aren't showing up in coded transactions in the month where the bank transaction occurred. The reconciliation with the check payment and the bank transaction can be made, but the transaction doesn't show up in coded transactions section of the bank reconciliation detail report for the month the bank…

Expense Claims - Edit once approved
Ability to edit expense code and tracking code after approval and payment.
This is to make up for there being no data validation capability for coding.
The workaround is to run the Account Transactions report and run 'query tests' in Excel.
Once the errors are found, you go back and edit the transactions for missing tracking codes, etc.
With Expenses there is no ability to subsequently edit the transaction, though whihc measn you need to create journals which is inefficient and hard to audit.7 votes -
AU Payroll | Reporting - Common format selection
When you select reports and it says current month, it is not the current month it actually goes back from the day you create a report to the previous month. When it says current month I would expect it to be current month. See samples below where I have gone to the report and changed it to select date range and it should show current month but it doesn't

I can see from your screenshots you've used the 'Select date range' option. As you've found, this defaults to a ~30 day period back from the day you've run the report. This is a bit of a quirk of the 'Select date range' dropdown.
However, I can confirm that if you use the date range 'This Month' your reports will return information for this calendar month instead.
To confirm this, you can post future dated pay runs for the same month, and they'll appear in your reports when run for 'This Month' but not 'Select date range'.
