  1. Hi Team, my query is about Draft Invoices. Is there any chance of having a 'Stop do you want to proceed' when it comes to a draft invoice being sent instead of the actual Invoice? I was convinced that I had approved a draft invoice, yet when the email was sent, it was not the Invoice as per the subject reference, but the draft. Embarrassing to say the least.
Just that extra step would be very helpful. Not the first time it has happened to us. Thank you,

  2. At present we are able to edit the layout of reports by rearranging, creating formulas, and grouping accounts. It would be INCREDIBLE to be able to customize the following.

    1) Group font (size and boldness only)- right now it defaults to a much larger BOLD font than the underlying accounts. It would be nice to choose these sizes and weights

    2) Customize the Group Total's Location - at present it shows only as an additional labeled row with the corresponding total. It would be a neater presentation to just have the group total show right in line with its main…

Hi Michael we're grateful for your engagement here, however we ask that each post is contained to a single idea for a feature.

We've identified that there are existing Xero Product Ideas relating to customising fonts and styles in reporting, and collapsing and expanding account groups. We've gone ahead and added your vote to these ideas, so that we can gather support and gauge interest for these ideas separately.

We've also adjusted the title of this idea to reflect your suggestion to change the position of group totals in custom layouts. This idea can now gather support through votes and comments from others in the community.

  3. Though I am grateful and happy that the "New Invoice - Cursor Default Position" was resolved, thank you, it is now affecting the amount of time it takes for the draft to autosave after entering/selecting the contact. The amount of time it takes for the draft to autosave is significantly longer now than it was before the cursor position was fixed. The draft is still "saving" even after I have entered the rest of the information into the date, invoice number, and reference fields. And yes, I have let it complete saving before moving on to any other fields, it…

Thanks for sharing, Angela. With the way autosave works, you should be able to just keep drafting your invoice and it will save in the background. So you don't need to wait.

If you're noticing a significant lag in the invoice saving, this is best investigated by our team of specialists. I'd recommend raising a case with our Xero Support team on Xero Central who can take a closer look into this with you 1-on-1 🙂.

  4. Classic invoicing uses shading on screen to help see the data fields. Recreate that in new invoicing. You might find you get a better response to new invoicing if users can easily see the data they are trying to work on rather than scanning a white screen. The content is fine, it just looks rubbish.

  5. Would be great if Xero could trigger an automated (email and/or text) reminder to the superannuation payment approver 10, 5 and one days out from the superannuation due date each quarter.

A similar reminder feature already exists in XPM for Activity Statement Lodgements - reminders can be turned on.

Xero also has the ability to automate reminders to Customers around bill payment.

Xero has the email and SMS of the superannaution approver already on file.

    Advantage of these reminders:

    • Super gets paid on time - we're all human and life can take over and sometimes things get missed - a…

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts on this. It’s clear from the support this idea has gained that automated reminders for superannuation payments could be a huge help for many of you. We hear you and can see how this could make managing your obligations smoother.

Our product team has taken a look at this and we’re exploring how we can build it in to help you stay on top of the proposed PayDay Super changes. It’s on our roadmap, and we’ll keep you posted as things move forward. 🙂

  6. Budget Manager - Ability to Archive old budgets that relate to archived tracking categories.
At present the budgets still appear within budget manager even though linked to an archived tracking category. It would be great that when you archive a tracking category that the budget is archived along with it or just the ability to archive old budgets in budget manager. At present you can only delete so you lose that history.

  7. We signed up several years ago, and were really happy with the software as it was. Now we keep update after update, and price rise after price rise. Our cost has now doubled in 5 years. I know there's fancy "features" added to it now, but I don't need them. All I want is the version from a couple of years ago. Accounting, payroll for 5, Classic invoicing, old style reports, old style bills page, old style contacts, no cashflow analytics.

Why not just make the older version available as a basic package for say £25 a month. No fancy…

  8. There are times I want to create several invoices within a group, but not the whole group. For example, in the Equine Lessons Group, there are contacts who take private lessons, group lessons, and/or homeschool lessons. Each contact may also be at a different skill level, therefore a different class. I would like to be able to select which contacts to invoice for Level 1 Homeschool Lesson, or for Level 3 Homeschool Lesson, or even Equine First Aid, depending on who, when , and what course is being taken.

  9. I've received multiple calls from customers who were confused when trying to find my bank account details on the online invoice. They couldn’t see the bank account details immediately on the view after clicking the "Review and Pay" or "View your bill online" link in the Xero email. Initially, the invoice shows only the Stripe payment option, and customers must click "View Invoice Details" to see my bank account information. This setup is confusing and not straightforward for customers!

According to Xero support, it’s impossible to change this view for customers:

"As these small changes were requested by many users…

  10. Repeating Invoices have the option to provide an optional 'End Date', however it can sometimes be difficult and/or time consuming to identify the correct end date. There's also potential to miscalculate the correct end date which can sometimes result in customers being under or over charged if the selected end date results in the wrong quantity of payments.

It would be very useful if there was a 'Quantity' option for Repeating Invoices which would automatically select the correct end date. Therefore eliminating over/under payments.

This feature would be useful for those who know exactly how many times a repeating invoice…

  11. Reconciling funds - I need to be able to save Reconciling items while I'm half way through reconciling.
eg - I receive large amounts via bank statement - eg $16,000. That $16,000 will be made up of 10 holiday home bookings. Then I break down each booking into cleaning, credit card fees, our company commission, Airbnb commission, etc etc. Sometimes there may be up to 80-100 lines of items. Currently I can not save and it is really frustrating as it can take an hour to do and then if I have to leave or can't reconcile I need to…

  13. When an employee has set amounts to be paid to multiple bank accounts, if there are insufficient funds to pay the amounts Xero allocates to the lowest amount not the order of the bank accounts. This means that payments like rent can be short paid. It would be good to have a flag notifying you of this and an easier way to reorganise the payments.

  14. The Classic version of Invoicing used to inform you on the view of an invoice that was created from a Repeating Invoice when the Repeating Template had been deleted.
The new version does not give you this information resulting in confusion and wasted time.
    Please see screen shots below.
This is causing us a major headache as we have lots of Repeating Invoices that have to be cancelled and if a user isn't sure new invoicing doesn't help but allows you to go through the process of trying to delete the template again which results in an error.
    Please fix…

Hi Chris, we appreciate you raising this message with us. It's something our team have added to their backlog but want to be open that we don't have active plans for changing for the time being. We'll continue to monitor the feedback here and I'll share if there is any progress.

  15. In New Invoicing we can now hide the tax amount column. As this is for organisations that are not registered for tax, the Tax Rate column is also redundant so would it be possible to hide that too? We are set up as No VAT Scheme so both these columns just get in the way and it seems odd that we can mask one but not the other when you only ever need both or neither.

While we're at it, could we do the same in Billing?

    Thanks

Hi Candice, timestamps in your org are set by the timezone set in the organisation's financial settings. From your idea here, would you want to be setting this manually or based off another setting somewhere?

  18. Thank you for delivering to keep the existing contact when copying an invoice. Now when you email the invoice the email address is not populated from the contact file. You have to go and look it up to send the copied invoice.

Please refer to the contact details and pre-populate their contact email addresses.

    Thanks

Sorry Lynne, It's a bit hard to troubleshoot and get the detail to understand why your contacts details like email aren't coming through to your copied invoice. I've just tested this with Draft and approved invoices being copied and the email of the contact was bought through each time as expected. I'd recommend raising this with our specialist through the Contact Xero Support option in Xero Central for closer inspection.

Thanks for also checking on this, Olga - that message on defaults application is related to the Sales defaults saved against inventory items or the contacts record but doesn't apply to the contacts personal details. These should be applied when copying an invoice.

To explain a little more - The reason defaults aren't automatically applied is because the line item fields will be prefilled with the information from the existing invoice that the new one is copied from.

    We understand…

  19. At present, using Xero's Invoicing templates, you cannot send a "Receipt" from the Invoice -> Email screen. It prints as "Tax Invoice" with a zero balance. You have to click into the payment applied and send a "Receipt" from there.

If Xero labelled a paid Invoice as a 'Receipt', then surely we could use 'Receipt' templates - as you cannot unless using an advanced docx template with custom coding.

Secondary to that, Email templates - not being able to have a 'Receipt' template means that our "Receipts" go out with Xero's "View Full Invoice and Pay" message at the bottom…

  20. Automation of remittance advices being sent once payment batch is approved with Xero pay. Currently they are sent individually once the batch is approved and shows up on the bank account transactions list. It would be great to be able to send them out as a batch once the batch payment is approved. Also would be good if you could deselect any that you don't need to send out should that be the case.
