Reporting - Notes column option on reports
Is it possible to run reports and have the notes section as an additional column option? As currently have to click into each individual invoices to see the note

Reporting - Options for Font colour & type
Ability to change Fonts in reports. Each firm is unique, and have ways to express themselves. We have always used a particular font for all our correspondance.
The XERO reports look the same for every firm. Adding the options for fonts, size, colour will allow firms to be slightly different.24 votes -
Checks - Check Voucher reference line to agree to the bill reference field
It would be beneficial to be able to adjust the check voucher format.
When paying multiple bills on one check, just list the bills (1 per line) that this check is paying. The reference line on the check voucher should agree to the Reference field on the bill. It makes no sense to reference each line item on the bill. We can have over 25 line items on a bill. I hope this issue can be addressed soon.

Cash Coding - Keep the same sort order of uncoded statement lines
Sometimes the order of transactions is different in Uncoded Statement Lines Report to the transactions you are coding in Cash Coding. This means you cannot quickly enter codes from the Lines Report but have to carefully check line by line that it's the same transaction. This is extremely annoying, time consuming and occasionally results in incorrectly coded transaction lines. This has been a problem for years! It's terrible.

Customer Statement - Attach additional documents
It would be great to be able to attached documents to statements like we do with invoices/quotes. ie a general company letter, holiday notifications etc. instead of sending the client 2 emails.
I have an urgent document that need to go out with this months statements.

Account Transaction report - Add Quantities & Unit Price to Column Drop Down
It would be incredibly helpful if 'Quantities' & ' Unit Price' were included as column options in the Account Transactions report.
This way one can quickly review the quantity & price of each entry without having to drill down into each individual entry. It would also provide a total quantity and average unit price for the given period.
The example that I am referring to is on a farm business where we would like to review the tonnes of crop sold and the price.163 votes -

It would be great to have the ability to edit Headings in Business Snapshot in Analytics-Plus as I work for a charity and having commercial terms (such as profit and loss) are not really helpful in a Charity setting.

If you're just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) you can now set up the Sick leave entitlement date for an employee.
We know people in the idea here are existing payroll users and we can assure you we're working to also develop this for existing customers. There are a few more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. I'll be back to share when there's more news on this and when you can get access to this too. Thanks

AU Payroll - Calculate future leave balances for employees
For permanent employees, all XERO business customers should be able to calculate their future leave balances. This will allow a business owner to know if they can approve the leave or not, or what conversation to have with a team member.
I hope this idea is backed and implemented.

Account Transactions - Remove Awaiting Payment status from unallocated overpayments
In the customer under account transactions it shows the list of invoices and payments. Against unallocated overpaymentsit shows the status of 'Awaiting Payment' why? we are not awaiting the payment it is shown there.
Awaiting allocation maybe.
Anyway this caused confusion for our sales guy who had goods arrive for a proforma customer, he saw 'Awaiting payment' and thought they had not yet paid so he did not ship the goods, (Accounts were not in to tell him) He did not see the words overpayment or even if he had, he was not accounts so would he understand it? He saw highlighted in bright green 'Awaiting Payment' which anyway, is fundamentally incorrect. I suggest it ought to be changed.

Quote/Invoicing - Job Workflow
BETTER WORKFLOW FOR QUOTES/DELIVERIES/INVOICING:
If we could get the actual flow for how the paperwork per Job can be produced!1.I always start with a QUOTATION: this doesn't always need to be sent to a customer at all as it could be raised by way of a telephone conversation, etc,et. This is logged as a Job manually in a Workbook.
2.If the customer agrees and some do use PO numbers then when we go to accept/confirm, this is when we need the ability to enter Their PO number or some other confirmation that can be proved, this may take the form of an email or even the customers name!
On other systems it is possible to send " order confirmation " for them to check and alter if anything needs adding etc,etc.
3. After approval, then we need to fulfil and deliver the Job, this is logically when a Delivery Note will be required...definately waste of time when raising an Invoice as this is the last stage..
The delivery note can accompany the Job in transit etc.
4. Finally when job is Delivered, we raise an Invoice..At all stages, copies of any emails must remain on the system or in the respective email software, Outlook etc...
This would give a normal workflow to Job flow in my opinion and make Xero more user friendly

API - Assign a Project to an Invoice line via the API
Via the XeroAPI, assign a project to a line item on an invoice.
Looking in both the invoices, and projects APIs I can not see how to do the assigning.
Also, If i assign the project from with in the Xero website, and GET either the invoice or the project, neither response seems to have the assignment.

Contacts | Merge - show contact merged to
When merging customers xero currently completes the merge and then displays the profile that has been moved which typically (for me) contains no customer data. Is it possible to instead display the profile that the customer has been merged to which shows all the existing customer data. Usually I am completing a merge and then having to go in and search for the customer name again.

Trial Balance - Run in Foreign Currency
Do you have the currency option on Trial Balance as you do the profit and Loss and Balance Sheet?
11 votesCurrently, you can include an Exchange rate note in the Trial Balance report, however it's not possible to run this report in another currency.
We don't have any plans for extending the reports that can be run in a foreign currency atm, but it'll be good to get an idea of the interest for this here and we can share if there is any change.

Invoices / Bills - Option to copy line above
Whilst doing multiline bills and invoices we need a key stroke shortcut that copies the line above to reduce time taken to enter data. I was used to this in sage. I REALLY miss it. Please!!!!
53 votesAppreciate wanting this feature if the line is unique, Melanie. However, if the lines are for items you regularly buy or sell, perhaps you could set up untracked inventory items to be able to quickly select and fill fields of your invoices and bills?

Xero Accounting app - Automatically assign the next Purchase Order number
When using the Xero app from your phone, to have the Purchase Order numbers auto generate the number.
Currently, we have to look back and previous purchases to find the last used PO....unless you have a great memory. And then, while creating a new purchase order, we have to enter the new number.
Currently, we also need to select as an optional detail, the order number. It would be nice if the app created a new PO number, sequentially from the previous PO issued.
The two attachments show when creating new PO, the first screen. Then I need to add the number, which is frustrating(Second screenshot). Any help on making this more automated would be great.When using the Xero app from your phone, to have the Purchase Order numbers auto generate the number.

VAT201 report | PDF - Links to attached files
VAT201 Report - PDF link to scanned tax invoices. It will be great to have a PDF link to scanned invoices attached to bills and invoices in the transaction by field number report. It will be easier and save time to download and save from this screen, instead of opening the actual bill or invoice in order to download attached documents for upload on SARS efiling for VAT verification/audit.
