Bills - Assign a Name to Planned Dates
Being able to name planned dates would make it easier to manage payments when multiple users are setting up different types of payments on different dates.

Bills - View PDF without downloading
It would be massively helpful to be able to preview the PDF invoice instead of having to click on and download it each time. If you could preview it alongside where you are inputting data on a Purchase invoice that you have sent to Xero by email - then you can check details side by side rather than having to print out the paper versions. Would be much more efficient

New Invoicing - 0.00 values appearing in the invoice summary on invoice emails which should not appear
There is system wide error in the back-end template that you use to generate invoice emails. Please refer screen captures attached. You will see that I have two lines in my Invoice 005614 that are text descriptions of services only so are effectively subheadings and have no account code and no "value". They appear correctly in the PDF invoice with a blank in the "Amount NZD" column but they appear incorrectly with a value of "0.00" on the email the customer receives. I'm annoyed at myself that I have never noticed and reported this bug before because it looks these two lines are a product or service that I have provided at 0.00 cost (in error) or decided to supply at no cost. Neither of which is the case, may confuse, and definitely looks strange and unprofessional. Please correct your system email templates so that these values correctly appear blank to match the PDF invoice

Account Transaction Report: Filter by Customer Account Number
Please can you consider offering a accounts transaction report that allows you to see transaction by unique customer account number - otherwise what is the point of having a unique customer account number?

Batch download of Validated eInvocie from Malaysia LDHN
This idea is related to eInvoice from Malaysia LHDN, send individual invoice section.
Once sending the email to MyInvois@invoi.ci, and after validated, the e-invoice will be added to file attachment.
There is currently no option to be able to batch download these multiple eInvoice that is validated in the file attachment section.

Reporting - Filter the Profit and Loss by Contact
When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.

Projects - Ability to edit time of users who have left
I use Projects as timesheets for my staff in my contracting business, and it has worked well for the past two years. I do not use Xero process staff wages, I use ACE Payroll.
After a staff member leaves, I delete them from Projects, as it costs me $7.50 per month per person, and when you have between 20-25 staff, it can get quite expensive.
Once I delete a staff member from Xero, I cannot change any of their time entries. The reason I need to do this is usually because they have allocated his/her time against the wrong project.
Would it be possible that after making a users inactive, as the administrator, I would still be able to correct errors to the times to ensure accurate cost analysis of the project.
Also sometimes we have staff members who return to our employment (after working at the skifields during winter), so to have the facility to make them active again, without having to go through the whole invite system, would be hugely beneficial.

Invoicing - Create a Credit Note from a Paid invoice
We raise an invoice to a client.
They pay it.
Then for some reason, something changes.
We need to raise a credit note against that invoice!I know I can create a new one from scratch but I want the history with this particular invoice and all the other details that I have already typed into it.
What I DON'T want - is to delete the payment, create the credit note, delete the allocation of the credit to the invoice, then reapply the original payment.
It is not an option within Xero to 'copy to draft' and create a negative invoice (Credit Note).

NZ GST return - Late claims, Publish & incognito mode
Not a new product idea by any means, just a request to put the GST return back the way it was before the update. So far with the new update, we can no longer see the late claims on a separate tab, we cannot publish the final return in Xero and now we can not be in two different entities at once even if we are incognito mode or in a different web browser.
When querying Xero about this problem, it was suggested that I post it as a product idea, because they are all known issues but can't do anything about it unless I request it here.Not a new product idea by any means, just a request to put the GST return back the way it was before the update. Duplicate Bill Review – Click-through Functionality
Enhance the Duplicate Bill Review screen by enabling direct click-through access to individual bills.
When reviewing potential duplicate bills, it would be helpful to click on any listed bill to open and inspect it directly. This allows users to quickly identify and resolve issues—such as an incorrect reference number—without having to search via another screen. After making corrections, users should be able to refresh the Duplicate Bill Review screen to confirm whether the duplicate warning has been cleared.

Lock date - Separate lock dates for sales Tax and accounting period
Separation between Sales Tax/VAT/GST lock date and accounting period lock date.
It would save a significant amount of time if VAT periods in Xero could have a separate lock date than the accounting period lock date. For instance, an invoice/bank transaction is still outstanding when filing a VAT return, and the VAT return date could be locked so once this outstanding transaction is completed at a later date, it would automatically appear on the next VAT return. This should be separated from the accounting period lock dates, as you still want to account for that transaction in it's relevant period, without it influencing the Sales Tax/VAT Report that has already bene filed. Currently accountants need to run this review manually to ensure no transactions are missed or accounted for twice when filing a return.Separation between Sales Tax/VAT/GST lock date and accounting period lock date.

Invoicing / Bills | List views - Freeze top row and first column
Ability to see Header rows and side columns on all screens when scrolling
As per Microsoft Office where the top and side ribbons remains static.
e.g. When you're in the Dashboard and scroll down it would be good if the top ribbon is static. It makes it easier to select another item (business; accounting; contact etc) without having to scroll up.The same with Bill Payments; Invoicing; reports etc where the top ribbon and column headers - see attached - would remain static as you scroll down the list.
The same as when you might have a lot of columns - it would be good to see the contact name remain static as you scroll right.
Or a freeze pane feature similar to excel.

UK Payroll - Set the date for when payslips are available
It would be useful if payslips could be scheduled to be posted to Xero Me on a date after the payroll is run. Eg you may run the payroll mid-month but want employees to be able to see their payslips on the date the payment is made at the end of the month.

Bills - Add 'Upload bills' to Dashboard.
Add the 'Upload bills' feature as a widget on the Dashboard, for convenience.
At present you have to navigate to 'Bills to pay', then from the 'New bill' dropdown, select 'Upload bills'. It's a great time saving feature, but seems tucked away, and would be great if right from the dashboard I could just drop bills, and invoices, ready to process later.6 votes -
Invoicing - Option to add outstanding amounts to subsequent invoices at the bottom.
Could you enhance customer accounts by automatically adding outstanding amounts from previous invoices to the next issued invoice as a separate line item called 'outstanding fees'? This ensures customers can pay the full amount due, not just the current invoice.

Invoice - Recurring invoice reference for a contact
When a new invoice is created, have the reference number auto fill from saved data. Just like you can save what sales account and tax to use for a contact. I have customers that give me a blanket PO for the year and I use it on every invoice I create for them.

The print date that now appears at the bottom of reports is useful for some reports and circumstances, and I understand this date is now turned off for Published Reports.
However we do not 'publish' our financial statements - we send our financial statements to clients in a practical and informative pack instead. This is a more efficient, professional and streamlined approach for us.
Showing the print date on these financial statements is of concern, due to various issues including the lag time between preparing and approving the report. It is also not ideal when preparing the directors resolution and we have a resolution signed date, then a report date at the bottom that is completely different. It does not look very professional at all.
Rather than having to re-run these reports each time, which creates inefficiencies, we need the ability to be able to toggle this date on and off - at least at a template level, or alternatively at the report level.

Our team are looking into a solution at the organisation level, that'd enable you to remove the Date from footer for all reports exported to PDF. While they explore this we'll move the idea to Under review and I'll be back to share more as this moves along.
