Email notifications: Expenses - Awaiting approval and Approved claims
Ability to trigger notification when expense claims are awaiting approval and approved status.
Purpose: So the approver can review the expenses faster and the one who’s asking for an approval don’t need to wait longer for approval.

Hey everyone, a big thank you to everyone who's voted and shared feedback on this idea overtime. We've heard your desire for changes to expense notifications.
Great news! Our team is currently working on this, and we anticipate rolling out an update very soon. Once live, every user with an expenses approver or admin role will get an email notification when an expense is submitted and ready for approval.
Also, once an expense is approved the user who submitted it will receive an 'expense was approved' email notification.
I'll keep you posted and confirm here once the changes are live.🙂

now you need to add a feature to be able to turn this off. we were using the app for this (notifications and approvals) so did not need e-mail's to provide reminders.
and no warning that this change was coming

I contacted Xero help to try to turn off these email notifications and was told there is no option to turn it off and " If you're experiencing issues with these notifications or have concerns about their frequency, the user will need to look into alternative solutions or workarounds that might help manage their notification preferences better." So they are just leaving it up to us to deal with. Seriously unhelpful. Why would they role out a new function without giving users to option to opt in/out for notifications?!?

It seems that email notifications has been introduced with no way to turn them off. For some, I am sure, very useful for everyone else a nightmare of unwanted spam. We need to be able to turn off unwanted emails

We need to be able to turn this function off. I currently oversee 49 companies, all who have staff using company cards and submit multiple expenses each week. I do not want an email each time they submit a receipt. We approve receipts on a regular basis and do not want to be advised when one, or many, are waiting.
Please ensure there is a function to opt out of this, thank you -

I would like the option to turn this off for selected users.

I can only assume Xero have not tested this or thought about the implications of sending emails to everyone! Surely, we should be able to specify who reports to which approver and emails and mobile notifications are only sent to the relevant approvers? I've worked in finance for over 20 years and used a multitude of accounting software and Xero is the ONLY one who does not specify approvers for individuals and give a choice of notifications. Xero - please do something about this!

Exactly - as below - my inbox is suddenly filling up with expense claim approval emails - absolute nightmare. How do I turn it off
Why has this been implemented with out telling us??
Far more important issues to fix like being able to see emails sent from Xero!!

I can understand that being notified when an expense is submitted might be useful for some companies, but it should not be forced upon everyone. There MUST be an option to turn off the notifications in Xero.
Support says to find our own workaround but that's ridiculous. I shouldn't have to create email rules to block Xero emails. Please give us an option to stop the unwanted emails.

All of a suddent I'm getting inundated with email notifications for expense submissions. How do I turn this off?!?!

Not sure if this is live or not but I am receiveing email notifications for all expenses being submitted. There is no way to toggle this on/off, so now all our approvers/admins are receiving 150+ emails.
Xero support suggested to find our own workarounds to de-flag these emails in our inbox settings... Is there not a solution we can have in Xero instead?

Is this feature now available

We have only just introduced using the Xero expenses function and I was very surprised to find that notifications of expenses to be authorised wasn't included.
This function is a crucial feature and needs to be looked at urgently. Not having the notifications is a major drawback of the current system. -

This functional is extremely important and reduces me having to notify approvers to approve.
This feature really is a must

Hi Xero team, with so many people like this feature, something needs to be done.

This would be soo good to have and thanks for the follow up.
It seems that Xero have a habit of using platitudes but little (if any) changes seem to be made.
Really the concept of a user suggestion system that is ignored is very condescending towards those who make the suggestion.
Perhaps we need to find the directors phone and email numbers and contact them direct = that may wake up the Xero Management!
