  1. It would be very useful to be able to search bank rules for an account code, since account codes cannot be archived/deleted if there is an associated bank rule. I eventually found the relevant bank rule but it was very time consuming to go through each bank rule individually - there can be hundreds of bank rules.

  2. We are a booking agent and collect revenue less costs from venues , I currently use sales invoice to record sales(settlement) and enter costs as a negative amount that are an expense in my project, Project treats the deductions as a reduction in income not an expense, can this be fixed?

  4. Similarly to iFirm, would be great to be able to make amendments to the return in Xero, mark it as an amendment, and then file from Xero rather than having to make the amendment in MyIR, then make the same amendment to the already filed tax return in Xero. Makes it harder to keep track of what has been done.

  6. I would like a small change where the Accumulated Depreciation is a default column in the depreciation schedules report generated from Xero. I work with a significant number of clients who we run depreciation for each year and I would like to see the Accumulated Depreciation amount in the report by default without having to update the templates in every client file.

  7. Instead of showing only the cash out over the 12 months on the top of a contact show the total invoiced amount so that we could check all the invoices are on by matching the monthly figures to the statement.

    Hi Rhys, while not from the contact's record you can run the Receivable Invoice Summary report with a few filters to get what you need here.

    If you Group by Contact and Filter by Approved you'll be able to see the invoices and a summary per Contact. If this is a report you'd want to view often, you could save as Custom to quickly access this anytime.

  8. It's great that there is now the option to finalise and create a bill on a BAS...however that is not the default choice for Tax & BAS Agents so it would be nice if the big button was to FINALISE the BAS and the small button with the option to create the bill. Leave it as default in the linked to ATO BAS (lodge and create bill) but for BAS that aren't being lodged in Xero directly it's not helpful.

  9. It would be great is the 'report notes' were in alignment on the PDF like they are in Xero.
    Or if they showed up at all.
    We spend ages on analysis of the reports (answering questions before they are asked) and then the notes at the bottom of the page don't math up to anything.

  10. Hi,

    For the Profit and Loss data (Revenue/ Expense/ Net Profit), should be an option to select last month as currently it's bringing up mid month data and comparing with full month information (ie. running the report 20th October and comparing with either full month Sep 2024 or full month October 2024. A lot of clients invoice end of month or after month end so adds little comparison value.

    For Cash Balances, ability to select which bank accounts are displayed might be worth considering. Currently showing loans, which skews the information into negative.

  11. We require additional report codes, particularly for financials, in the Adviser reports. More codes are needed to group and map Fixed Assets, and it's necessary to further breakdown Plant and Equipment into categories such as Furniture & Fittings and Office Equipment. We spend excessive time modifying report layouts to achieve this, and automation would be more efficient. Additional user-defined fields that are compatible with our practice would also be advantageous.

  12. When we export draft financials from Xero we have to untick the option for decimals places to be removed in individual report which is time consuming.

    We would like the Xero team to provide an option that is available to exclude decimals when we export the reports as styled PDF, so that this option gets applied to all the reports while we are exporting only for the reports that are included under the financial reporting bundle.

    See attached the screenshot where we would like this option.

    We hope this is doable and Xero product team would come up with this.

  13. When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.

    All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.

    So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.

  14. Where the individual client title has been changed to "Executor for" or "Representative for" the declarations should also be updated with this information. Currently the declarations still just use the individual name, who may be deceased or unable to sign on their own behalf.

  16. There is an inability to prepare and lodge income tax returns for the forward 2025 year for companies and trusts including deceased estates.
    In regard to companies deregistering in the 2024/2025 tax year or wanting to deregister in that year, the company cannot do a 2024/25 tax return after deregistration as the ATO will not accept a lodgment after the date of deregistration as it is considered by the ATO to no longer exist. Companies cannot do a 2024/25 tax return before deregistration as Xero do not have this function available.
    This functionality needs to be urgently implemented.

  17. Xero have announced that they are removing the ability to automatically send batch files across to Kiwibank & ASB on 16th November, in order to "focus our efforts to support areas of Xero that provide the most value for customers."

    Speaking on behalf of my clients who actively use this feature, it's of huge value to them. It automates a process that otherwise involves manually downloading a file, logging into internet banking and uploading that file. It's even better for users who don't have internet banking access, but need to set up payment batches on behalf of those that do…

  18. Features to allow user to enter both "Documents Date" and "Posting Date" when we record for any single transaction instead only one column of "Date".

    For example, the invoice date could be 30 of Jun 2024 but as we receive this invoice later, on 10 of Jul. With this, I cannot book this invoice in Jun ledgers, because the month had closed. So, I have to book (post) the invoice in Jul ledgers, on 10th.

  19. When invoicing a job for a client that has a Billing Client I would like to able to sometimes invoice the Job Client instead of the Billing Client. Currently if there is a Billing Client exists XPM forces you to invoice the Billing Client.

  20. It would be useful to be able to file historic tax returns prior to the dates shown in Xero. I have a client who submitted his own accounts but has never submitted his own tax returns so we need to file 4 returns for him but we are only able to go back 2 years.
