  1. It would be important to be able to edit the payment option available for a specific contact. Example: I have an international client that I would prefer if they did not get the option to pay their invoices with credit card. That would be useful to edit this within their contact settings so I don't have to manually change each of their invoices.

    Hey Fanie, thanks for your engagement and for sharing this excellent idea for managing customer payment options.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to be able to set specific payment options within a contact's settings, and it's now open to gain support from other community members. We can definitely see how this would save time by removing the need to manually edit each invoice for certain clients, like your international customer example.

  4. Currently hubdoc suggests that a document is a Credit Note and to check before proceeding. Can this be the same when a document has Statement written on it. I find that statements are often processed as invoices causing duplicate payments within Xero

    Good to hear that you find the Credit Note warning useful, Gayle. We don't have any immediate plans for adding the same for statements but we'll get a feel for the interest from your idea here.

    Hi all, thanks for sharing your feedback on this as an idea. Our team are currently working on developing SA801 Property Income pages within Xero Tax(UK). I'll be back to confirm once this available, here. 🙂

  6. The option to filter the reports by tax returns that have been lodged as Final in a certain tax year would be beneficial.
    We could then cross check and archive clients as necessary.
    There are so many fields to choose from in the Fields and Criteria, but this is not one of them.
    It would save us from having to keep a manual list as some can get missed this way.

    We've reviewed your idea to be able to filter reports by tax returns that have been lodged as 'Final' for a specific year, and it's now open to gain support from other community members. We can definitely see how this filter would streamline end-of-year processes and remove the need to keep manual lists for cross-checking and archiving clients.

  8. When using the field [Client] Group(s) as a criteria in step 3 of report builder, you can only specify the relevant client group name in the text field. There's currently no functionality for a drop down list of client groups to select from similar to the clients field. Requesting this as an option

  9. I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.

  11. Across Xero it would be very useful (and intuitive) to be able to type dates in formats other than dd mmm yyyy (for example dd/mm/yyyy, ddmmyyyy, etc). The dd mmm yyyy isn't the usual way to enter and clients have commented that it's irritating that they can't type the date in (they use the calendar instead) because it didn't occur to them to try this format, and even when you are aware the habit when typing dates into these boxes is to use one of the more common formats so it can lead to errors

    Hi Jonathan! Thanks for sharing this great suggestion about allowing more flexible date formats in Xero. We can see how being able to type a date in different formats (like dd/mm/yyyy) would be a much quicker and more intuitive experience for many, and acknowledge that this functionality is available within other areas of Xero.

    We've also added the supporters of this idea to these two similar ideas; New invoicing and Fixed Assets.🙂

  12. It would be nice if My Xero could allow sorting by the number of unreconciled transactions. Being able to sort by the number of comments would be nice too

    Hi Christine, just making sure I understand what you'd like to see here. Would this be to sort all organisations you have access to from your My Xero page ordered by the # of unreconciled items ?

  13. Ability to export an invoice created in Xero business edition to a document pack.

    For example, if I prepare a BAS or tax return for a client and send it to them in a document pack along with my invoice, I have to export the invoice from Xero and save it, and then add it to the document pack.

    It would be beneficial if there was an option in the invoice screen to add the invoice to a document pack, similar to adding a completed tax return from Xero Tax to a document pack.

  16. Within the report code descriptions, identifying which IR10 Key Point for NZ tax the report code will feed through to.

    E.g.
    Non-deductible entertainment will go to "Box/Key Point 24 - Other Expenses" and "Box 28 Tax Adjustments"

    This will give a little bit more visibility as to where each item will end up, particularly for the balance sheet.

    If you can segregate this visibility to NZ only files as well, that would be beneficial for other countries not getting information not relevant for them.

  17. Why can’t we simplify the process of submitting and reconciling remittances from suppliers using a "receive money transaction" in Xero? Currently, when we receive a remittance through Hubdoc, we must manually change it to 'receipt' before submitting it. This creates an invoice draft in Xero, which we end up deleting as it serves no purpose, leaving the remittance stuck in Hubdoc. This process is inefficient and doesn’t make sense. We want to phase out Hubdoc, but it's currently the only place where we can store remittances. Ideally, Hubdoc should communicate directly with Xero, identifying the file as a remittance for…

    Thanks for sharing your idea here, Kelly. We don't have any plans for adding the ability to receipt remittances from Hubdoc to Xero in the short term, but we'll gauge the interest from the community in this, here.

  18. Would it be possible to have a report that shows the bank transactions and the bill/invoices that it was reconciled with? It's time consuming to check transactions one by one just to find a transaction that was incorrectly reconciled. Please see below example for your reference.

  19. Partner Status - recently we handed over some Xero subscriptions to our clients to pay directly. Instead of gaining extra points for our Xero status, our points have gone down. I'd like to be able to see under each partner points section a dropdown menu of the client names and points per client. This will also help me keep on top of our Xero recharges in case a client moves from one tier to another.
