  1. It should be possible to manually add tax payments made by a client to IRD. This is critical for a tax accountant like myself who is not a registered tax agent and therefore is unable to link and download details from IRD. This facility would make the practice manager more appealing to a wider range of users.

  3. When creating a new contact in Hubdoc for Xero, it would be great if there was an option to add the contact details (address, phone, email, tax ID, bank details, etc) right then. Hubdoc could read the information from the invoice and populate it on the spot rather than my having to remember who I added on the fly, go find the information again, and then manually type it all in myself.

  4. We are currently reviewing our staff access, and have realised that it is currently a labourious process when a staff member only temporarily needs access to a ledger e.g. technical help, auditor access, to cover sick/holiday leave.

    It would be great to be able to set a time limit for access when staff or users when they are added e.g. 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, or on a given date. This would save practice managers having to keep note of when users needed to be removed and having to do that all manually.

  5. Thanks to the team for releasing the ability to link one contact to multiple clients! While appreciated, it falls a tad short since only the "Position" is set per client. If possible, it would be great if the Salutation, Addressee, Phone, Mobile, Email Address, and Custom Fields, could also be set on a per client basis. This would allow for flexibility where the one contact has different contact details per client.

    One example is a bookkeeper that works for 5 clients of ours. For two of those clients, they use hey@awesomebookkeeping.com. For the other three, they use accounts@client1.com,…

  6. It would be great if the checksum # showed on the front screen of tax returns. When signed returns come back from clients out tax administrator must check this number matches before marking as signed. Currently they need to print and view to check. It would be so much quicker if this number showed on the front screen of the tax return somewhere.

  8. Would be good when using the Xero report templates that when net assets balances are negative that a Going Concern note is included in the accounting policies to the notes to the financial statements.
    This seems to be an automated process on most accounting packages that we have used but very much a manual process through Xero.

  9. Need the ability to be able to add a filter in the Returns page to look at a client group.

    Predominately will be used for bulk status updates, but I'm sure others could find more uses:

    • approval of a group (sometimes approval from each individual return is not appropriate)
    • "out to sign" once a pack is sent via FuseSign etc.

    Would also be useful for a quick snapshot of where the group is up to instead of having to run a report or open the taxable group to see.

  10. If you have your firm time billing set to round up then all of the reports - even actual time reports, report the rounded hours and not the actual minutes worked. This is really inaccurate and makes it really difficult for me to get a good gauge on employee billing and performance. Please look at amending any reports using a rounded time figure that should be actual time.

    In addition and also critical to this issue XPM timesheets for payroll but I am also pretty certain that if you are using XPM timesheets for your payroll it pulls/exports the rounded…

    HI Sally, jumping back on your idea here our team are working on providing more flexibility to the info you view from Job Manager.

    Right now, we're developing columns for Staff, Manager and Partners. Around the same time we expect to deliver these additions, we'll also enable you to hide detail you'd prefer not to view. So, you can decide and only see the information relevant for you when viewing Jobs.

    We'll return to share more when this is available🙂

  13. Would be cool to be able to edit the name of the PDF attachment sent with the Tax Payments emails from "PaymentLetter" to a name that is more specific to the client.

    Would be particularly helpful where a client has multiple entities to pay tax for.

    Possibly use XPM merge fields for the pdf file name? for example "{Client} Payment Letter due {PaymentDueDate}"

    Thanks for contributing to the community here guys. We will soon be releasing a new solution in Xero HQ which provides one central place to manage your VAT, personal tax, company accounts and corporation tax deadlines.  I've shifted this idea to 'working on it' for the time being and we'll let you know when it's available.

  15. Ability to add a default accountant's signature in the accountants' report. This would mean that the we do not have to sign each and every report before sending to client to approve and sign the balance sheet.

  17. Xero currently defaults to print/show TFNs on 2017 or older returns (eg Show TFN ticked). However it defaults to NOT print/show on 2018 - 2023 returns. We have been told this is something we cannot change in our settings, it would be a much safer option if we were able to control this setting, or at least have it all operating the same way.

  18. Ability to Delete a Client from Xero Practice Manager if they have an IRD Number and/or Tax Returns.
    Have found that XPM has been updated so can no longer delete a Client if they have either and IRD Number or Tax Returns (including Archived Tax Returns). Client has to be Archived instead. Wanting to delete especially in cases such as the Client being deceased, rather than having to Archive (especially as Archived Clients can still appear in reports).

  19. Enable an advanced setting in Xero to have customised columns Change dependant on client (e.g., GST, Credit, Debit, Date, Reference). With the rollout of new reports its frustrating when generating reports on client's P&L to have to change for every single column.

    Hi Mark, want to make sure we understand your idea here properly. When you say you'd like customised columns per client - Would this be like the ability to set standard columns that will be selected by default to appear on any reports you run in a clients organisation? Or something a little different you're asking here? 

  20. Please can you provide a way of detecting when a contact has been deleted in XPM. It's provided on the client list api as IsDeleted for clients, but not for contacts. An IsDeleted prop on the contacts would be very useful. Unless someone knows another way of getting this info?
