  1. Document Packs - User permissions

    The ability to lock down who can prepare doc packs vs who can send them. ie. We want admin to prepare but Director to send. Suggest view / prepare / send.

  2. At the moment there is a glaring issue with Xero files and HubDoc files, that the subscriber/owner of each can be different, even though the HubDoc file is integrated with the Xero file and is "paid for" by virtue of the Xero subscription.

    This means it's possible for someone to lose access to their HubDoc account, even if they are the subscriber of their Xero file. Nightmare.

  5. Allow for rules to be placed on what to do when data is missing or unable to be grabbed. Ideally for these to be linked by which supplier the order is from or even setting global rules

    Specific Ideas:
    -Setting a default Global Due by date when missing
    -Setting a specific stock line(s) to apply stock to by supplier
    -Setting not to overwrite cost price with default cost price in system.

  6. Allow to Edit the Tax Code on transactions without un-reconciling the already allocated Bank Payment or Receipt. This obviously must be limited so that the total amount still matches.

    This would be highly helpfull in particular cases were the tax information is received after the Invoice and Payment booking.

  7. If updating a client address or email address, have this automatically update EVERYWHERE for the client from one place, including Repeating Invoices and Statements. We have had issues where we update the email address for a client in blue Xero and in XPM but this has not updated for the repeating invoices, so these have continued to go to the old email address. Same with Statements.

  8. When doing the year end processes, an accountant should be able to unlock the period for their log in only ie 'unlock for me only' as if the client or others have the same user access, they can change the accounts while we are working.

  9. Can Xero please upgrade this block on the Bank Accounts / Reconcile to show more details in the block before needing to click on “More Details”. Especially for most banks have the ACB CREDIT PAYMENT before having the reference/description on statement.
    This will be very helpful.

  10. Change the save button at the bottom of the screen in XPM to Save and Close so you dont need to scroll back up to the top of the page each time when editing client details.

When creating a journal and posting it, if we want to go back and make it an auto-reversing journal, the only way is to click "copy" or "reverse" then enter a new journal at a required future date. When doing this, Xero does not link the two (i.e. does not recognise the new journal as an auto reversing journal with the usual hyperlink and note). My suggestion is for Xero to keep the "auto reverse" field open when editing already posted journals. Two example use cases:

    1) Accidentally posted journal as a standalone journal and want to then make it…

  13. I would like a field in Hubdoc to enter the supplier ABN number, that would then pull through to the ABN Field in the Contact in Xero please. This will be a huge help when bulk reviewing ABNs and GST Registration status. If the field could be clearly seen when processing documents it would be helpful so we can just double check against the document when processing.

    Thanks for this fantastic suggestion. We can definitely see how an ABN field in Hubdoc that syncs to Xero would be a huge help.


    Having that ABN visible while processing documents would make it much easier for accountants and bookkeepers to confirm supplier details and apply the correct GST.

    The next step is to gather more community support! If you know any colleagues who would also benefit from this, please encourage them to add their vote. We'd love for them to share their own experiences in the comments, as hearing how this feature would improve different workflows is incredibly valuable.

  14. On the Fixed Asset Register can there be a column for showing Tracking Catergories?

    We deal with clients in the Hospitality Industry and a portion of them operate multiple sites.

    It would be handy to have an option in the Fixed Asset Register so we can quickly identify which assets belong to Pub A, Pub B, Pub C etc.

    The inclusion of a filter to only show the Fixed Assets of a particular site would also be a huge benefit.

    We know that the Register can be exported to Excel which will show the Tracking Catergories but something within Xero…

  15. Job Status - Updating to Lodged,
    Wouldn't it be great if when a return, activity statement etc connected to job is actually lodged, that the job automatically updates the status to lodged.

  16. Hi there, could Xero please add a VAT reconciliation report to the reports section where we can reconcile each VAT period's VAT payable/receivable to the VAT control account. This would make the VAT reviews and VAT reconciliations at year end so much easier and faster.

    Hi Doina, as mentioned in my recent update here. I've split your idea into two, so we can gain understanding of the support in each separately.

    It'll be good to get a gauge of community interest for a Detailed Profit & Loss in the Statutory accounts for Micro Entities within Xero Tax(UK), through this idea.

    This isn't something we have road mapped atm, but we'll share if there are any updates.

  20. Allow a Column on your main page of transactions for mileage so you can add the mileage to the column for sales to be calculated

    I am a private hire driver and this I believe will benefit taxis and private hire drivers or people who do a lot of driving as a business.

    Can they not add another column on this page that we can add the mileage for each job that can then be calculated at the end of year as you do with what fairs come in or sales coming.

    Again, this would benefit greatly for small businesses…

    Thanks Simon, it does appear that you're referring to the jobs related to workpapers directly that you'd record mileage for.

    This isn't something that we have plans for right now, but we'll track the interest and share if there are any changes to update you on.
