  1. If a staff member leaves, you would usually delete them as a user. That causes issues, however, if they have set up recurring invoices. These will be left as draft and will not be sent. It would be useful if you could keepa staff member but remove the access so that they can't log in themselves anymore, almost making them inactive?
    It is not as simple as resetting their password because of the 2 step authentication.

  2. Hi there

    Just a suggestion.

    I wonder if we can please make the depreciation and tax depreciation report setting to automatically default to the last saved setting instead of having to save it as default report and without saving it into drafts? Similar to Wrike workflow product.

  3. My Xero - Managing staff access to clients

    I suppose we have a large-ish accountancy - in My Xero I get a full list of all clients I get access to; that's 25 pages of clients at 50 clients per page. I see all clients irrespective of whether the subscriber is internal (within our accountancy) or external (the client).

    We need to add a new admin staff member and give them “Manage users” + “Payroll admin” to all entities. In My Xero, I drill down into the Staff list, click on the new user and it says I have access…

  5. Currently all ITR Notices of Assessment that come to Xero Tax with a variance are marked with an orange dollar sign ($).

    It would help with variance investigation and client contact if the variances were colour coded so that positive variances (those that increase a refund or decrease a payable) are in a blue $, while negative variances (those that decrease a refund or increase a payable) are in the orange $. I would suggest green, but green is often used for 'this has been assessed and confirmed' so blue is a good compromise.

  6. Keyboard shortcuts in Xero Practice Manager

    Currently only have a shortcut for search (forward slash) in XPM, would like more shortcuts (like there are in Blue Xero) - eg:
    Dashboard / Clients / Jobs / Tax / Business / Reports tabs.

  7. Improving XPM Workflow Capabilites with Seperate & Specific Job States & Automation Triggers

    Seperate set of state for different job templates/workflows. XPM currently only has one set of job states. there should be the ability to have multiple for different jobs. These states should also be able to be transferred into a kanban board view and when the job state is changed either by drag & drop or dropdown certain automated actions should be triggered such as automated emails or deploying client or internal forms to be completed etc. At the moment the XPM's workflow capabiliteis are extremely limited.

  8. Document Packs - User permissions

    The ability to lock down who can prepare doc packs vs who can send them. ie. We want admin to prepare but Director to send. Suggest view / prepare / send.

  11. To be able to run report which will show the Gross Taxable Income for taxpayers across the practice.
    That is, similarly to how can print report for all clients in the practice which shows the current filing status and date tax return was filed, be able to print a report for all clients in the practice which shows their Gross Taxable Income for the year.
    This functionality will be helpful especially for eg checking if a Client is entitled to the Cost of Living Payment.

  12. It would very helpful to show the "Amount due" and WIP balances on both of the CLIENT and GROUP listing screens.
    At the moment these screens shows the telephone number and address which does not help at all. At the very least give us the ability to customize
    these columns so that we can "choose" what to see

  13. We currently can drag and drop details in the bank rec screen to populate fields. As the OCR in Hubdoc is not so polished yet, if we can have a similar drag and drop feature would be immense in using Hubdoc to process transactions as this would cut down on the data entry.

  14. Problem: Xero connected to the ATO for activity statements. Client prepares monthly IAS (PAYGW only), Adviser prepares quarterly BAS (GST and one month's PAYGW). Adviser has to disconnect from ATO to finalise BAS in Xero and import into Xero Tax (to be able to send to the client for electronic signing and then making lodgement to the ATO).

    Solution: make it possible to finalise the AS in Blue Xero without disconnecting from the ATO, allowing Client to continue submitting IAS to ATO from within Xero and Adviser to import into Xero Tax to send for e-signing and lodgement.

  16. Can we have all sales invoices have the compulsory information that is required as per ATO guidelines. Im coming across so many invoices from businesses who are not including all their contact information eg phone number and email. It is very frustrating to have to track down this information as bookkeeper I dont have this information as would be the business owner who has done all the original contact but when invoices come through and we need to verify bank details by contacting the business it makes it difficult to contact or confirm all these details when they dont appear…

  17. In the Bank Rules it would be very helpful to have a tick box that allows the full original description from the transaction in the bank, to be allocated when you reconcile the transaction.
    Much like the Set Reference as 'reference/description/etc' option but specifically to include the original transactions detail.

    E.g. Bank rule & contact would be: 'Pharmacy'
    - but the original description in is a transaction from 'Boots £3.50' or 'Superdrug £14.00' so when you apply the bank rule and you check the transaction in 'Account transactions' under the specific nominal (e.g. personal care), the description would say the…

Allow journal entries to be entered in foreign currency and converted to base currency as some companies need to report in both when shareholder company is in one country but operating company is in a different country, difficult to reconcile due to/from and inter-company transactions when the two companies are in different currencies

  19. I've just found out to my horror that there is no facility in Xero Tax to restrict access to our own personal tax returns as owners of our accountancy firm. We've just got rid of IRIS to go all in with Xero Tax and find that we can't even do our own personal tax returns on Xero Tax because our team will be able to access them. How crazy is that? Please could this be addressed as a matter of urgency? Surely we should be able to password protect them?

  20. Can you please add the GST filing frequency as a field to filter on when creating or building reports relating to GST.

    This is currently not an option to enter when adding a new client, would be great if you could though.
