XERO Workpapers
Hi There,
It would be greatly appreciated if you could implement a feature that allows the creation of an Excel worksheet as a new workpaper. This enhancement would enable us to save time by eliminating the need to prepare a separate worksheet before saving it into Xero workpapers.

TFN Declaration and Super declaration forms on Xero
Is it possible for Xero to include a documents tab in the employment section (perhaps in the notes a document can be added OR making it a mandatory part of setting up an employee), so that the TFN declaration and Super declaration forms are saved/can be saved into Xero?

Custom report formula - formula can look through a closed group
It would be very handy to be able to create a formula in a custom report that could reference a group/custom row that sits within a closed group as sometimes you need these rows in order to drive the formula but they dont add any helpful information to the final report.

AU Tax - Exclude Xero figures from worksheet when importing xero data
We 'import from xero' the data to preopolute the tax return. However, the P&L and Balance Sheet items appear in the tax return as a worksheet when printed. It would be great if this was excluded, but retained the other worksheets.

Staff permissions for editing recurring jobs
Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.

Hubdoc - Set date to current century
Stop dating in 1900s.
Today I typed in the date 5/3/25. Click on the little calendar that appears, the month says March 25. Click on 5 March 25.Hubdoc interprets this as the year 1925.
I dont think there are many people entering receipts from 100 years ago.
Please remove those last century calendars from Hubdoc.While you fix that, since the Hubdoc file is linked to a Xero file can you also stop hubdoc processing into a closed year. It warns you AFTER it's been sent to Xero, then doesn't let you correct it because of the status -…

It's best if an idea is specific to one feature request so that others know what they're voting for and to help product better understand the interest for a feature.
We have a separate idea around the lock dates that I've just added your vote for across here. We don't have any plans for this but if any are made I'll let you know, there.

contact group change delete in history and notes report
Add contact group changes to History and Notes report. The History and Notes report should reflect an audit log, which would include any and all changes. It is difficult to discern issues or why something happened when not everything is available in the report.

Rental Schedules (Worksheet) in Company Tax Returns
There are currently no rental worksheets for companies (as the ATO do not accept rentals on a CTR in PLS) in Xero Tax. These schedules are available in other software providers ie MYOB.
As clients have rentals in company format, it would be useful to at least have worksheets for each property to keep income and expenditure (and depreciation).
This would assist clients as they would have more detailed information for each property as well as a better audit trail. Also a time saving in data entry for the tax return.
The worksheet could simply then update the relevant income…

DETAILED BAS ACTIVITY FOR THE YEAR
Be able to run a detailed BAS activity for the year. This way we can see what changes were made after a BAS has been lodged.

Submission of Returns takes ages
Submission takes ages
I switched from lodgeit to Xero tax. While returns (BAS, ITR, CTR etc) were submitted in lodgeit, it would instantly reflect in the ATO portal. However, with Xero Tax, it takes ages to update ATO portal. This is definitely some flaws within the Xero eco-system. I know, Xero will flush this and direct towards the ATO, but Xero, you know the reality better.2 votes -
Indication/Warning/Flag when changing organisation
It is too easy currently to click back/undo one too many times and end up inadvertently posting into a different organisation from the one you were working on.
I was showing a colleague how to do something in the Demo company, but I clicked back too many times and ended up making my dummy postings into a client's organisation instead.
For accountants and bookkeepers who have multiple clients and multiple transactions to post, this could create a lot of unnecessary work that can easily be avoided by some kind of indication that you are changing organisation.2 votes -
rental schedule
IRD are asking us for details of our rental expenses - I would like the Residential and Commercial Rental schedules to accompany the tax return when filing with IRD - I can not imagine anyone wanting to do this manually.

gst export
GST transactions (in GST Return) - The description is now the payment supplier or customer instead of the description on the invoice or transaction. And the links are now going to the payment or payment batch rather than to the invoice so then you need to look for the invoice you are trying to verify. Can the link please be the actual invoice being paid?

My Xero
It would be nice if My Xero could allow sorting by the number of unreconciled transactions. Being able to sort by the number of comments would be nice too

Add the function to create a new Journal to the '+'.
No need to go on to a journal report and then select add new journal.

NZ Tax - Customise declaration
It would be good to be able to customise the Declaration that is just above the signing line in the Tax Returns. The default wording is quite broad, and it we would prefer to be able to customise it to reduce our risk. Clients are not always truthful in reporting all income, and we need to protect ourselves.

Report Templates - Export to docx
Report templates do not support advanced layout structure and require marginal adjustments often.
Currently, export in docx format (or other MS Word compatible formats) is not supported and the Xero Team recommends to convert .xlsx into .docx which is not ideal and takes a long time.I suggest offering the possibility to export Xero reports that have been filled out (based on Reports templates) to .docx or MS word compatible formats.

Printing invoice
Customize the invoice template according to the need of the organization. On the template over the setting it should give the possibility for adding extra rubrics or fields that it will appear in the invoice as a separate section and just not adding in the "Description" field. Especially when we have to use two currencies and the exchange rate. And also when print the invoice out it doesn't as on the print preview.

Atm, with an advanced invoice template you can customise the template using the DocX template where you'll find there are extra fields that you can choose to include. If you want a permanent message that will show on all invoices you could add this as static text.
It sounds like advanced invoice templates could possible meet your needs here.
