  1. Next Payroll Wiget for Homepage
    When the new homepage was launched, I was hoping for a widget that had the link to the next scheduled payroll, the draft amount, the due date, leave to approve, timesheets to approve, last payroll (perhaps), super payments, etc. Layout could be like the 'Bills to pay' widget without the chart. Given that in Australia, SGC will need to be paid each payroll, that draft amount could also be added in the widget, linking to the Super payments module.

    Thanks for your idea and feedback here in the forums, Michael. Our product teams are still working on enhancements to the homepage and we'll keep a watchful eye on the interest in a payroll widget like you've described here.

    I'll let you know if there are any updates to share around this.

  2. I like the new look. Can the Business overview heading be removed and the customise button be moved up to where it is in the old homepage, next to last login? Screen real estate is very precious, especially when the client has a lot of bank accounts/credit cards that fall off the bottom of the screen and can get easily missed.

  3. A widget or chatbox where you can leave comments for accountant or business owner?

    Ability to strikeoff and clear the comments/tasks. Ability to add attachments like screenshots or even videos will be a great feature for this widget.

    This widget can sit on dashboard.

  5. Can we be allowed to change the time selection on the cash in and out view (eg to 12/13 or even 18 months?) seems to be stuck on 6 months for me. I think to see trends you really need to see at least a year

    You're right that the current 'Total Cash In and Out' widget is fixed to a 6-month view.


    While you can see longer periods by running a Cash Summary report, I understand that having that 12 or 18-month trend visible immediately on your dashboard would be much more powerful for spotting seasonal patterns.


    I’ve classified this as 'Gaining Support' to see how many others would like more flexibility with this widget's timeframe

We have various users from accounts administrator to operations managers and the new home screen will automatically show them extra information they don't necessarily need, as in, the operations managers should ideally have the bills and invoices front and centre and not really each other's credit cards. Also, the profit and loss widget is extremely annoying being there as our management is presented with monthly accrual basis accounts and use a custom P+L that require a large number of journals done so the profit and loss widget is wrong until the journals get done. At the moment, the only way…

    Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing this idea! Giving a Subscriber control over the team’s homepage layout would be really useful—helping everyone focus on the right tasks while keeping sensitive information private.

    Right now, each user customises their own dashboard, so it can be tricky for admins to know exactly what’s visible. For now, User Roles can limit access to certain data, or you can share a simple SOP with a screenshot of your preferred layout for staff to match.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find this helpful. Your feedback really helps guide what we look at next.

  7. I would like to customise the columns that appear in the chart of accounts watchlist. I would like have yesterday's closing balance, last month's closing balance, and the change.

    I use the watchlist to monitor clearing accounts, such as daily takings clearing accounts, and being able to spot when a balance has gone awry would be very helpful not only for me but for our team who reconcile these clearing accounts.

    Would be even better if we could add more than one instance of the watchlist then we could have one for clearing accounts with the columns described above, and…

    Really good to get this sort of detail about aspects of the homepage that you feel could be condensed or removed to help with your experience of the homepage. We're continuing to get an understanding of community interest around this and hear any further detail of where within the page you feel space is unnecessary. Thanks

  9. At a glance, a running total of VAT and Corporation tax due. As a small business, this would be very helpful for planning. Crunch Accounting had this on their homepage and it is the only thing i miss about their very clunky system!

    Hi Lyn, thanks for adding your feedback on our prototype for the new Xero homepage in regards to running totals for VAT/GST/BAS and Corporation/AU/NZ Tax, this is incredibly valuable to the team as they make the refinements.

  10. Add a widget for tracking categories with current and prior month expenses against each or even the top 5 of each category.

    make the hope page printable to pdf and also for the user to be able to present it to a client or board.

  11. When customising the homepage view, it would be helpful to have the option to set that customised layout as the default view for all users.

    This would make sure everyone logging into the file sees the same key information and widgets to keep everyone aligned

    Thanks for sharing this here. Currently the reason for this functionality to not exist is because the home page for all users may not appear the same. In particular, the users with the same permission roles will get the same view.


    We've moved this idea to gain more support from the community. You can share this with your peers and colleagues so they can add their vote onto it as well!

  12. New layout is great now I've got used to it. I do miss the Tax and Reporting box where I had quick links to useful items such as VAT return, CIS return. Could you add this as an optional widget on the new dashboard please? Thanks.

    Hi Andrea, appreciate your sharing on how having a “Tax and Reporting” shortcut on the dashboard would make accessing tax returns and key reports quicker and simpler. Navigating through multiple menus can slow things down, especially when deadlines are looming.

    In the meantime, you can access your VAT return directly from the Tax menu on the navigation bar for quicker access.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much this shortcut could help make compliance tasks faster and more efficient.

    Our product teams are staying close to what our customers are sharing back through the forums here, and we will share if there are any updates around widgets that would getting a view of tracking assignments, here.

  14. The "Invoices owed to you" widget NEEDS to have the "new invoice" button on top as before. What do we do with XERO besides accounting? Create invoices, and having to scroll down this widget is useless as ...... (fill in the blank). It's a very simple display change.

    This is something we're monitoring feedback of and would be good to hear from others on your idea here that'd also appreciate this option further up the widget.

    As another simple way of creating an invoice there's the keyboard shortcut '/i' that'll open Search with an option to create 'New invoice'.

    Hi Tom and John, not a direct drag & drop to a widget on the homepage, however from the 'Bills to pay' widget you can click Add bill > Upload bills which will direct you to Bills and pre-open the upload modal. 🙂

    This isn't something we have direct plans of right now, but will get a feel of the interest from the community for the idea here.

    It'd be good to track interest in this feature for Bills and Expenses separately as widget enhancements would typically be reviewed individually. I've created a new idea for this in Expenses and added you both to this for any updates.

  16. When refreshing the bank feed we used to get a "loading" type of notification on the old layout on the homepage when it was actively refreshing. Now nothing seems to be showing but when I switch back to the old layout I can see that it's "loading" (or if I click on the bank itself).

    It's helpful to know if the feeds is "thinking" or not so I don't prematurely bug the client to fix on their end. And an overview of all the accounts that are loading is nice instead of having to click on each one. Thanks!

    Hi everyone, it does sound like a bank feed status indicator would be a really helpful addition, giving you a quick sense of whether your imported statement lines are fully up-to-date or still processing.

    We understand how important it is to have that confirmation—without a clear visual cue, it can be hard to tell if the feed is still loading, has completed, or if something has gone wrong. Knowing the current status at a glance helps you trust the numbers and act quickly if there’s an issue.

    As such, we've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest in making bank feed status more visible on the homepage. It would be great to hear from the community and understand how this could make a difference for everyday workflows.

  20. In the tasks, it should report on the bills that are due to be paid in x period - whether that be a week or fortnight - user should be able to set it based on frequency of using the file.

    This would act as a prompt to ensure payment is made.

    In addition, there has not been a solution to recording a credit card statement due for payment. Being able to record the amount due and due date would really help! Fixing this would also be extremely useful
