XPH - Sticky header to keep client name visible while scrolling
It would be useful if you could "sticky" the client name to the top of the screen so when you scroll down you can always see which client you are viewing/editing.
4 votesHi Christine, thanks for sharing this suggestion. When working through longer client pages with multiple tabs and custom fields, it can be easy to lose sight of which client record you’re in. A sticky header that keeps the client name (and possibly reference code) visible would help keep that context in view and reduce the need to scroll back up to confirm details.
At the moment, you need to return to the top of the page to re-check the client information once you’ve moved further down the record.

XPH | Jobs : Ability to move Job Costs (Disbursements) between jobs
In Xero, job costs entered under the Cost tab are locked to a job once created.
If a cost is allocated to the wrong job (wrong financial year, wrong client, duplicate job, or job later cancelled), users must currently reverse, delete, or manually re‑import the cost.This creates:
High admin overhead
Reconciliation issues between Xero and XPM
Increased risk of errors and missed costs

4 votesThanks for starting this conversation. When a cost is allocated to the wrong job, having to delete and recreate it can be time-consuming and can add extra steps to keep job costs accurate. An option to edit or move a cost between jobs would make this much simpler and reduce rework.

XPH Homepage | NZ Tax - IRD's Live Filing Statistics as a Widget
With the XPM link to MyIR START, is it possible to have IRD's live filing statistics for the agency as a widget.

We’re just circling back to share a quick update as it’s been a little while. We’ve checked in with our product teams, and this isn’t data that IRD currently provides access to. Because of that, it’s not something we’re able to support right now.
If this changes in the future, it may be something we can revisit, but we want to set the right expectation here for now. Thanks.

Practice | Homepage - View if a clients bank feed has a connection issue
It would be useful to easily view and take action in client orgs where a bank feed has a connection issue.
4 votesIt’s clear that manually checking each client organisation to see if a bank feed has dropped out can take up valuable time.
We hear you that a central view or alert on the Practice Homepage would make it easier to spot connection issues across your client base and address them before they affect month-end work.
As mentioned, surfacing this in a homepage widget would reduce the need to check individual files and make it easier to stay on top of feed status.

XPH | Customisable homepage graph/table colours
Customisable graph/table colours would be excellent, even if it were just 2 or 3 preset options. The blue/red default is a bit harsh.

Tax Manager - Add Signed Status
Add a signed Status to the Left Hand Navigation so that signed returns can be quickly selected and lodged

XPH | Jobs - Enter Time should default to last end time in your timesheet
Enter Time - you have to put in start time. It should default to your last time entry like it does under view timesheets.

XPH | Homepage - Create tasks and recurring tasks to show on your homepage
A function to create tasks and recurring tasks to show on your dashboard, much like Google Tasks. A basic To-Do list that shows recurring tasks that you need to complete every month for each client. This links in with XPM as a CRM system.

XPH – Add Client Activity Toolbar
Please reinstate the summary toolbar or menu at the top of client pages. It previously acted as an effective dashboard for client activity and allowed us to see what was happening at a glance.
In XPH, key items (for example, active tax returns) no longer clearly show status or progress, which forces users to click through multiple screens just to understand what is going on.
Overall, XPH feels clunky and significantly more admin intensive. It feels like a system that previously worked has been pulled apart by developers with little regard for how accounting practices actually operate or for the…
3 votesHi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.
Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.

XPM - Suggestion for improvement: Simplify GST registration removal workflow
In the old XPM when removing a client’s GST registration you could delete the GST registration with one tick and save. In the new XPM when you untick ‘include GST information’, the GST information greys out and it lets you save but this does not remove the GST registration information. You have to clear the other fields first, then untick ‘include GST information’ and save. Why can’t you just untick ‘include GST information’ and it be removed from view on the client information screen? Or at least be given a warning that the change you’ve made isn’t correct when you…

Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback about the GST workflow in XPM.
I can certainly see how the extra steps of clearing fields manually feel like a step backward from the previous experience, especially when you're managing multiple client updates.
Currently, the new XPM interface requires those fields to be emptied before the section can be fully "deactivated" from the client summary. If you find the information is still showing after you've unticked the box, it’s usually because those greyed-out fields still contain data that Xero is trying to preserve.

Clients | Jobs - Ability to search
Please add "Search Function" under the client Jobs - same as in the job manager in order to search for specific "current" and "archived" jobs, the sort function is not sufficient.

XPH | Home Page open in a new tab when working on a tax return
Previously in XPM, if you were in a client's tax return, you could select the XPM option from the dropdown menu under your practice name and it would open a brand new tab and take you back to the Dashboard.
Currently, the new partner tab no longer has this feature (for obvious reasons), and when you click Home, rather than opening a new tab, it takes you away from the tax return returning you to what used to be the Dashboard page (now the Home page).

It’s clear that having the Home Page open in a new tab while working on a tax return would make it easier to quickly check the dashboard without interrupting your flow. Being able to keep your place in a return while referencing other information sounds like a helpful way to stay efficient.
As mentioned in the thread, you can currently right click the Home link and select “Open in new tab” as a workaround. I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of making this behaviour more seamless during tax prep.

XPH - Add interactivity and Partner/Manager filters to Activity Statements widget
Activity Statements Widget, it would be able to click on the columns and got to a filtered view of the activity statements. Also it would be good to be able to filter by partner/manager. On of the big issues with auto created BAS/IAS is the is not parter/manager assigned to them if we could get a filter for partner/manager based on the partner/manager set in the client file it would be fantastic.
3 votesHi everyone, it’s helpful to hear that the Activity Statements widget could do more to support quick oversight. Being able to filter by Partner or Manager and click through to those filtered views sounds like it would make it much easier to stay on top of workloads and keep deadlines visible across the practice.
For now, a good option is to run the full Activity Statement report and use the filters there to drill into specific staff portfolios.

XPM: Practice - Timesheets: Enter Timesheet: Improved date defaulting and navigation when editing entries
When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job. Tax Manager - Add button to request Income Tax Client report directly from the "Ready to Start" screen
have a button within the 'ready to start' screen that requests the income tax client report list (per article: https://central.xero.com/s/article/Income-Tax-Client-report#ViewtheIncomeTaxClientreportdetailsinReportBuilder), and the ability to bring in all the client tax returns ready to file (where not already brought in)
3 votesWe appreciate you sharing this idea, Bec! We understand that having to leave the Tax Manager just to pull a client report can slow you down when you’re ready to work on a return. A direct "Request Report" button on the Ready to Start screen would make the pre-filing process more seamless and help you stay focused.
Currently, the workaround is to open a separate tab or go to the Reports menu to run the Income Tax Client report manually. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this simple shortcut could speed up your tax preparation workflow.

XPH - Declutter header by separating Help/Notifications from other action buttons
The help and notifications buttons should be in a separate section. It is more user friendly to have just the search, timesheet and JAX buttons in the top right of the screen.
