  2. Please add "Search Function" under the client Jobs - same as in the job manager in order to search for specific "current" and "archived" jobs, the sort function is not sufficient.

  4. Next to monitoring Debtors, Work In Progress is one of the most important areas of a Practice to monitor. If this figure is not not regularly evaluated, then Cash Flow is directly affected, which will be of concern particularly over the next 2 years.
    Again this is directly tied in with Client Jobs and their various Deadlines

    Also I have seen quite a number of Practices sold, with a large WIP that should have been completed and converted into Debtors.

    Hi Michael. We understand the ask in having a quick, at-a-glance view of Work in Progress (WIP) to help with billing and cash flow visibility. At the moment, this information is available through existing Work in Progress Reports.

    We’ll track the demand on this idea, and keep this updated if there’s any progress to share.

  5. When you save a timesheet entry as draft, then next option of discard or save is very close together so if you don't move your cursor to the right to click on save you may inadvertently discard the timesheet entry. I think the discard option needs to be moved somewhere else.

    Hi everyone — thanks for flagging this! It’s clear the “Discard” button’s current spot is causing a few accidental clicks, especially after you’ve just entered your time. Losing your work like that is frustrating, and we get how it turns a quick task into extra effort.

  7. I would like to see at a glance the staff assigned to each job and there is a Staff Assigned column in Job Manager which should enable this. It should list all staff names, or at least the top three. Currently, it only shows one name which is useless, especially as that name is myself as I am first in alphabetical order and as my name is also shown in the manager and partner columns. So I can see my name in three columns and no other staff names!

    I have been trialling the new Partner Hub for awhile now and keep reverting back to the old version simply because of the Jobs Widget. In the old version I could see the state of all my jobs at a glance on the left hand side. I have a GST job state set up so that I just click on that job to complete and file their GST returns. The new widget does not display enough jobs so I have to click into the jobs module, then click into filters and select GST filter then click on the…

  11. Please reinstate the summary toolbar or menu at the top of client pages. It previously acted as an effective dashboard for client activity and allowed us to see what was happening at a glance.

    In XPH, key items (for example, active tax returns) no longer clearly show status or progress, which forces users to click through multiple screens just to understand what is going on.

    Overall, XPH feels clunky and significantly more admin intensive. It feels like a system that previously worked has been pulled apart by developers with little regard for how accounting practices actually operate or for the…

    Hi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.

    Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.

    Appreciate the feedback, Ben. We'd like to track the interest in this spelling through your idea here. Both ways of spelling this are correct and 'lodgments' currently aligns with how ATO's spelling of this.

  13. In the old XPM when removing a client’s GST registration you could delete the GST registration with one tick and save. In the new XPM when you untick ‘include GST information’, the GST information greys out and it lets you save but this does not remove the GST registration information. You have to clear the other fields first, then untick ‘include GST information’ and save. Why can’t you just untick ‘include GST information’ and it be removed from view on the client information screen? Or at least be given a warning that the change you’ve made isn’t correct when you…

    Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback about the GST workflow in XPM.


    I can certainly see how the extra steps of clearing fields manually feel like a step backward from the previous experience, especially when you're managing multiple client updates.


    Currently, the new XPM interface requires those fields to be emptied before the section can be fully "deactivated" from the client summary. If you find the information is still showing after you've unticked the box, it’s usually because those greyed-out fields still contain data that Xero is trying to preserve.

    Thanks for sharing your feedback on the new Partner Hub timer experience. This is essential for the Product team to glean what is working and what is not. We have moved this to Gaining Support so others can comment and vote on this idea and if there are any updates we will mention them here.

  15. When you click to start the timer in Xero Partner Hub, the pop-up box fills 1/3 of the screen. It blocks access to items on the right hand side of the page underneath (for example the 'go to xero' from the insights page or the 'next page' arrow in the clients list). The only way to fix it is to scroll back up to the top of the page, minimise the timer, and scroll back down.
    I would prefer to have the timer box open when I'm working, but while it fills so much of the screen it isn't practical…

  16. Previously in XPM, if you were in a client's tax return, you could select the XPM option from the dropdown menu under your practice name and it would open a brand new tab and take you back to the Dashboard.
    Currently, the new partner tab no longer has this feature (for obvious reasons), and when you click Home, rather than opening a new tab, it takes you away from the tax return returning you to what used to be the Dashboard page (now the Home page).

    Hi Karen, thanks for sharing this suggestion. It’s clear that having the Home Page open in a new tab while working on a tax return would make it easier to quickly check the dashboard without interrupting your flow. Being able to keep your place in a return while referencing other information sounds like a helpful way to stay efficient.

    As mentioned in the thread, you can currently right click the Home link and select “Open in new tab” as a workaround. I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of making this behaviour more seamless during tax prep.

  17. Activity Statements Widget, it would be able to click on the columns and got to a filtered view of the activity statements. Also it would be good to be able to filter by partner/manager. On of the big issues with auto created BAS/IAS is the is not parter/manager assigned to them if we could get a filter for partner/manager based on the partner/manager set in the client file it would be fantastic.

    Hi everyone, it’s helpful to hear that the Activity Statements widget could do more to support quick oversight. Being able to filter by Partner or Manager and click through to those filtered views sounds like it would make it much easier to stay on top of workloads and keep deadlines visible across the practice.

    For now, a good option is to run the full Activity Statement report and use the filters there to drill into specific staff portfolios.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep track of interest and help our product teams see the value of adding more interactivity and staff-level filtering here.

  18. Keeping track of all of my time, both billable and non-billable, is always a challenge. I find the timer hard to keep visible and it is difficult to switch jobs quickly. I have been trying toggl timer and the concept works exceptionally well - it would be the best if the way you can flip back and forth between daily tasks would be an absolute game changer to ensure that all time is entered, even with value billing.

  19. For boxes that we are typing into, we need to expand the box, so we can see the full view, not a scrolling box that cuts information off. In the normal XPM, you can grasp the corner and expand it out. Please bring this back.

    Hi Glennis, after looking into this further, it sounds like this relates to the Notes field within a client’s record.

    At the moment, the field expands as you type, but after several lines it stops expanding and instead introduces a scroll bar. This means reviewing and updating notes involves additional scrolling, particularly when working with a lengthy note.

    This idea has now been updated to Gaining Support, and we’d encourage others in the community to share their thoughts, use cases, or vote if this would be valuable for them too. Thanks again for starting the conversation, your input helps shape future improvements.

    We appreciate you sharing this idea, Bec! We understand that having to leave the Tax Manager just to pull a client report can slow you down when you’re ready to work on a return. A direct "Request Report" button on the Ready to Start screen would make the pre-filing process more seamless and help you stay focused.

    Currently, the workaround is to open a separate tab or go to the Reports menu to run the Income Tax Client report manually. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this simple shortcut could speed up your tax preparation workflow.
