  1. Activity Statements Widget, it would be able to click on the columns and got to a filtered view of the activity statements. Also it would be good to be able to filter by partner/manager. On of the big issues with auto created BAS/IAS is the is not parter/manager assigned to them if we could get a filter for partner/manager based on the partner/manager set in the client file it would be fantastic.

    Hi everyone, it’s helpful to hear that the Activity Statements widget could do more to support quick oversight. Being able to filter by Partner or Manager and click through to those filtered views sounds like it would make it much easier to stay on top of workloads and keep deadlines visible across the practice.

    For now, a good option is to run the full Activity Statement report and use the filters there to drill into specific staff portfolios.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep track of interest and help our product teams see the value of adding more interactivity and staff-level filtering here.

  2. For boxes that we are typing into, we need to expand the box, so we can see the full view, not a scrolling box that cuts information off. In the normal XPM, you can grasp the corner and expand it out. Please bring this back.

    Hi Glennis, after looking into this further, it sounds like this relates to the Notes field within a client’s record.

    At the moment, the field expands as you type, but after several lines it stops expanding and instead introduces a scroll bar. This means reviewing and updating notes involves additional scrolling, particularly when working with a lengthy note.

    This idea has now been updated to Gaining Support, and we’d encourage others in the community to share their thoughts, use cases, or vote if this would be valuable for them too. Thanks again for starting the conversation, your input helps shape future improvements.

  3. When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job.     Hi Lisa, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that these friction points in the timesheet entry process are leading to extra steps that slow things down.

    We hear you that things like the date resetting to Monday can disrupt your efficiency.

    We appreciate you sharing this idea, Bec! We understand that having to leave the Tax Manager just to pull a client report can slow you down when you’re ready to work on a return. A direct "Request Report" button on the Ready to Start screen would make the pre-filing process more seamless and help you stay focused.

    Currently, the workaround is to open a separate tab or go to the Reports menu to run the Income Tax Client report manually. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this simple shortcut could speed up your tax preparation workflow.

  5. The help and notifications buttons should be in a separate section. It is more user friendly to have just the search, timesheet and JAX buttons in the top right of the screen.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestion. We get that as more tools are added to the practice header, things can start to feel a bit crowded.

    Separating Help and Notifications from your main action buttons could create a cleaner layout and make it easier to focus on the tools you use most often.

  6. I propose introducing a “Staff Dashboard” that provides a simple weekly view of each staff member’s timesheet, showing what they worked on and how many hours were recorded. For each job, it should also show the total hours spent by the individual, the total hours on the engagement, and the budgeted hours. This would allow managers to quickly understand both staff activity and whether jobs are running within budget.

    In addition, there should be better reporting to compare similar jobs across periods, helping identify inefficiencies and improve pricing. Overall, timesheet reporting needs to be more practical and insightful, as time…

    Hi Jess, thanks for sharing this idea! Right now, having to search or click through multiple screens can slow things down, so we love the idea of a more central view.

    In the meantime, you can see the groups a client belongs to in the Information tab on their record (in the box on the right-hand side).

  8. Multiple Master Admin

    We need to have the option of multiple master admin! I am in a small practice and it makes it quite difficult to not have the few directors have then same access.

    Hi Jocelyn, appreciate the suggestion. Relying on a single Master Admin can create a bottleneck and adds risk if that person is unavailable. We understand that allowing multiple Master Admins would help share responsibility and improve continuity across the practice.

    At the moment, Master Admin role is limited to one user. However, you can look into the Administrator role for the meantime. I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share it with our product teams.

    Hi Stacey, we can see how much time being able to customise the Quick Action menu would save, especially when managing a large portfolio of clients.

  11. Previously in the Group view, we were able to view all Jobs, Invoices, and WIP for the Group. This is integral for our processes. Now in the Group view, you can only see the members of the Group, nothing else. Can you please bring back the Jobs, Invoices, and WIP lists?

    1/ can we have a table of contents link so we can navigate the client profile faster? Like if we want to jump to TAX DETAILS, or other custom contact fields we made

    We understand that as client records grow, it can take a bit of time to scroll through and find the right section. Having a Table of Contents or quick links at the top of the client record would make it easier to jump straight to areas like Tax, Jobs, or Custom Fields.

    At the moment, navigation is done through scrolling or the tabs at the top of the page.

    Hi team, thanks for outlining this suggestion.Having a clear view of billable hours alongside a client-level dollar breakdown would make it easier to stay across how the practice is tracking day to day. Seeing that information directly in the dashboard would also help connect time spent with value, without needing to jump between reports.

    Right now, the closest way to get this view is by running the Billable Time report.

    Hi Kat, thank you for the suggestion! A shortcut to your enabled practice organisation could cut down on repetitive clicks and speed up everyday tasks. We understand that partners often need quick access, so a single-click option makes sense.

    For now, the closest workaround is the Organisation Switcher’s “Recent” list or a browser bookmark for your practice dashboard. These give faster access while the homepage doesn’t yet have a dedicated button.

  19. Suggestion:

    When onboarding a new client in Xero, it would significantly improve efficiency if recurring compliance jobs could be automatically generated based on a few initial inputs.

    For example, during client setup, include fields such as:

    Company registration date
    Is the company registered for PAYE? (Yes/No)
    VAT registered? (Yes/No)
    UIF registered? (Yes/No)

    Based on these selections, Xero could automatically generate recurring jobs with the correct deadlines aligned to South African Revenue Service requirements, such as:

    EMP201 returns due monthly (e.g. by the 7th of the following month)
    VAT201 returns generated bi-monthly with submission deadlines
    UIF declarations
    Companies and Intellectual Property…
