New Workpapers - Send Client Queries
We need to be able to send the Client Queries to a client.
The old Xero Workpapers allowed us to send a notification to a client's email, and the client would answer the queries and upload their documents which would be automatically imported into the old Xero Workpapers.
Hey Everyone! Thanks for the feedback on the New Workpapers experience. Xero Ask is available on the Classic Workpapers but as yet not available in the new Workpapers experience. We won’t transition to the new solution until it includes a client query feature comparable to what exists in classic workpapers. Our workflow depends on being able to create a client query, send it out with attachments, allow clients to upload attachments in return, and have their responses flow directly into the workpapers. This functionality is essential for how our practice operates.
We also need the ability to set up workpapers with a recurring option, similar to how jobs operate. We use workpapers for our monthly and quarterly BAS, and having to recreate them each period (wtih the same queries for the last period) is tedious but still essential to our workflow.

Yes, we will not move to the new solution until a client query (similar to classic workpapers) is available. The ability to prepare a query for client, send to the client (sending attachments and client being able to send attachments back) and have the answers show directly in the workpapers is critical for our practice workflows.

One of the main reasons I haven’t moved to New Workpapers yet is that Classic Workpapers allows you to send client queries, even though New Workpapers has better functionality in other areas like checklist customisation.

Absolutely essential - we were trying to find out how to send Client Queries out and couldn't find it so perhaps your answer explains it.

Will there be the ability to send out a questionnaire of all the items needed and answers to questions that the client then submits back to signal the start of the annual reports, like there currently is with the old workpapers? This is important so we can keep it all, including their responses within the workpapers rather then having to do a manual checklist to send to them.
Also, the ability to send this process in bulk to many clients with the same balance date is a must to be efficient with time - it used to be available in the old workpapers but doesn't seem to work now! Thanks!!

To be able to streamline processing & prep of EOY reports, being able to send client queries directly, either prior to starting the job, or even as they come up would be super beneficial - otherwise why have client queries even there??

Agree. Without this feature we cannot move over to the new workpapers. Is this an oversight?- to have the ability to create queries but not function to send them or collect responses.

You say that "Xero Ask is available on the Classic Workpapers". At least in NZ, this is definitely not true. The queries sent from Workpapers are similar to Xero Ask, but definitely a different experience for the client.
We have had much more success with Xero Ask. It seems to be a lot more user friendly. It seems crazy that we have to copy/paste all of these queries
