  1. This applies to Invoice & Bill importing in both live Xero and through the Conversion toolbox. Please allow Overpayments to be imported as separate items to Invoices/Bills & Credit Notes.

  2. Move the "add last items" in the invoicing screen. Half the time the Billable items button comes up first in its place, but then moves to a lower point on the screen. The problem is if you click on it before it moves to the lower point on screen or just as it does, you end up with the last invoiced items on the invoice that you don't want.

  3. Whenever I enter an invoice for a new customer, which is quite often, it always annoys me that the 'Add new contact' pop-up doesn't have postcode search in it.

    So I end up adding a contact and their email, saving then going into contacts in a new tab to complete their address from their postcode.

    Just add lookup to the contact details in add quote/invoice/etc wherever there is a postcode field.

  4. It would be great to apply the Customers general discount (as set on their Contact Card) to only specified product items, not all product items. e.g. I don't want the Customers discount applied to say my Freight or Labour product items, but I do want to apply it to other products items we are selling.

    I would envisage a Tick Box on each Product card that we can tick, or untick, for the Customers Discount to be applied to it (by default it would be ticked to apply the Customers Discount).

    Appreciate the differing makeups of our customers and the improvements you see that would help your use of Xero.

    I want to be open that we don't have planned changes for adding a discount option within Inventory items themselves atm but we will continue to watch the trend in this idea and share if there is any change.

  5. When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
    If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
    BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."

  6. This would be a really helpful time saver. When our clients make payments, sometimes one payment can be for 20 odd invoices. Rather than having to find each individual invoice to add the payment (which involves these steps: click on invoices awaiting payment > search for customer > click on last page > click on invoice > add payment > then repeat all steps 20 times); there are tick boxes next to the invoices, with the options to 'print', 'email', 'copy to'... could an option be added to the tick box, to 'add a payment'? Therefore the steps would be…

    Hi Emily, it sounds like you could use batch deposit here. This is available from the Awaiting payments list like you noted and will allow you to to record multiple invoices as paid in a single transaction.

    It can be useful if you’re banking one deposit for multiple invoices, or when a customer makes a single payment for multiple invoices. 😊

    I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.

    I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.

    Because the invoice reference field was reduced to 255 characters (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/49018595-new-invoicing-remove-255-character-limit-for-ref), this would be the only way to be able to find…

  8. I think being able to connect a barcode scanner to xero to allow users to create a new invoice and scan items to have them appear as line items would be very beneficial to many customers. A lot of people use xero to resell items and if i could create a new invoice and instead of manually type everything, to just scan the UPC and have the item pop up would help prevent human errors

  9. OLD vs NEW XERO INVOICING

    Customer Name search - this is when adding customer name on customer/contact field when creating a new invoice

    In the old version, the dropdown displays the full hospital name along with the contact email address. However, the new version only shows a truncated name (around 26-30 characters) without the email address. It would be better to retain the old version feature for this especially when there are multiple contacts but different departments, as it was easier to find out whether correct department was chosen and not to make additional right click just to be sure…

  10. Is there a way to edit the email template when invoicing to add a standard email address in the BCC field? by doing this Trustpilot gets the email details to send out reviews?? i cant find an option for this feature

    obviously you would put your unique Trustpilot email address into the the BCC template field

    Hi Andrew, there's no way to set a default BCC email when sending from Xero atm. It may be something we look at in the future. For now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest for this here. Thanks

  11. Please make the “Save Button” omnipresent, so it hovers/tracks the page and wherever the user is working, while building Quotes & Invoices...

    I keep having to scroll up to the very top of the page, in order to hit “Save” - and found when moving too fast, i can accidentally skip back, losing changes, and then having to start again.

  12. I would like the option to remove the 'set up online payments' box whenever I create a new invoice. For companies like ours who are never going to use this function, it's irrelevant and takes up unnecessary space (we use invoice finance and our clients don't pay us directly). Could there be a toggle button in the settings to be able to switch this off?

I'm currently re-sending an invoice (manually sending a reminder) and I'd like to attach the email delivery receipt (which I have because I originally sent the invoice to me and then forwarded to the client from Outlook but that's a different set of bugfix/feature requests) as a file to the reminder. The only way to do this at the moment is to back out of the invoice sending screen, attach it to the original invoice and then send the invoice with the attachments both old and new.

    Aaah I see, thanks for the extra detail, Freya. Appreciate where you're coming from. With a few other items of focus for the team in this space atm, I do want to be open that there aren't any plans atm, but we'll track the interest here, I'll make sure this extra detail gets back to the team, and can share if there is any change to update you on, here.

  15. Allow the contact's account number <ContactAccountNumber> to be included on Branding Theme invoices (and other documents).

    The <ContactAccountNumber> is allowed to be included on system default invoices.

  18. Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
    Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error
