  1. I have used both the old & new GoCardless/Xero integrations. I thought the old one was great from an automation perspective if you were able to automate contact creation and this would automatically match the direct debit with the contact.

    Unfortunately, the new integration is quite restricted and an auto-match will only be done if the DD mandate is created directly from an invoice in Xero. This makes things very difficult from a scalability perspective and makes the new GoCardless/Xero integration unworkable.   2. To include invoice link in column fields when exporting invoice details.

    Reason: During times of audit, we will need to extract the invoices and it has to be done 1 by 1.
    With this function made available, we are able to provide the links to the auditors in 1 click of a button.

  4. Please consider adding templates in your quoting section , this is a simple but extremely helpful and time saving tool to have when quoting , saves huge time and at the end time is money.

    The inventory items in the templates need to automatically update with latest prices when utilized.

  5. Why can't we search quotes by title? It would be so useful and its so overlooked by the design team. I have loads of jobs for one client and I have to sift until I find it rather than search my the job name. Please Zero!

  6. For when creating an re-occuring invoice, there is occasions, where invoices must be sent at specific times of the month, for example...

    • Last Day of the month
    • Every 2nd Tuesday
    • Last Thursday of the month

    The reason behind this, is because some companies who you are invoicing operate specific payment cycles, and in order for a small business to get paid within the terms of their invoice ( Late Payment Act 1998 & your own article on [ https://www.xero.com/uk/guides/invoice-payment-terms/ ] - Payments terms are getting shorter )

  7. More than once I've accidentally clicked on submit for approval when I only wanted to save and leave the Invoice or bill in Drafts. It would be so handy if there was a 'revert back to drafts' option.

  8. It would be great to have a feature to Approve, Mark as sent & Email multiple invoices in one click from the Awaiting Approval Tab. We use a program outside of Xero to add invoice details & amounts and then export to Xero for approval and emailing. At present we have to take two steps to achieve the Approve, Mark as sent & Email result.

    Hey Nikki, thanks for sharing this idea.

    Now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their votes and comments too.

    In the meantime, it is possible to bulk Approve invoices from the Draft tab. Once this is done, you'll get a message where you can click 'View invoices' and select them all to then Email.

  9. Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for customer. The reason is now, when we send to MyInvoice, every thing has become "viewed" instead. So now I don't know whether my customer did view or not.

    I also suggest the MyInvoice under the Sent column, once the e-invoice validated, can it changed to "validated" instead of "viewed"? Like that we do not need to open another tab at the History and Notes to look up for it.

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback here. Very soon we'll be releasing a dashboard for e-invoicing in Malaysia that'll help with your needs here.

  10. At the moment, the options for quote status are: Draft, Sent, Declined, Accepted, and Invoiced. A sales quote that was sent but it's now past the date on which it expired still shows as Sent. It hasn't been Declined yet, but nor has it been Accepted, so there are quotes which are 4 years old still sitting in the list of valid quotes (see attached extract from the accounts of one of my clients).   11. Under the old invoicing, when an invoice was emailed to a client for the first time, the email address used for that first invoice automatically populated the Contact card's email address at the time the invoice was sent.
    This meant that if the invoice was unpaid, the reminder would be able to go to the same person who received the invoice.
    However the new invoicing doesn't automatically populate the Contact's email address.
    This means an extra step is needed to ensure the Contact card is updated.
    If this step isn't taken, then the automated reminders don't go out.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adding your vote to this idea! We totally get how important it is to keep your customer contact info accurate and up to date. An automatic update feature through invoicing sounds like a great way to save you some valuable time.

    Right now, if you send an invoice to an email that’s not already linked to a contact, you’ll need to add that email manually in Xero. The current setup is designed to be flexible so you can send invoices to multiple emails without changing the contact record. But we can definitely see how this feature would speed things up for you.

  12. In new invoicing the drop down issue date is today or tomorrow. I suspect "Yesterday" and "end of last month" would be helpful for lots of businesses who bill the day or month after a job is finished.

  13. Despite several separate requests on this forum, New Invoicing's email still begins with an invoice summary, unlike Classic Invoicing.

    For us, relationship and communication are more important than asking for payment so Classic Invoicing's email is perfectly set up with our message first and the invoice following.

    New Invoicing's email reverses this with the money part writ large at the top.

    Andrew Chadwick described it better than I can in the post linked below. The idea has been marked as Delivered but, respectfully, it hasn't been. His and my points still stand.

  14. Massive oversight by Xero.
    E-Invoicing only available to VAT registered companies as you have to enter a VAT number. What about all the non-registered companies?
    Why can't you select that you aren't VAT registered and be able to benefit by E-Invoicing?

    Hi everyone, we appreciate interest from non-VAT registered businesses that'd like to make use of the efficiencies eInvoicing brings.

    As the UK do not have a standard business number, this creates complexity in being able to identify and register non-VAT registered businesses on the Peppol network.

    While this is an idea that we'd like to continue to gain interest from our community in, we want to be upfront we don't have any plans to support eInvoicing for non-VAT registered businesses in the near term.

    We're actively advocating for this with the UK Government as part of their recent e-Invoicing consultation.

  15. Stop "Mark as sent" pop-up for every invoice. When making multiple new invoices, this pop-up occurs for each invoice made, no matter if reminders are turned off. This is new, started April 2024, and XERO support states there is no way to turn this off.

    Hi team, while there's not a preset option for end of this month you'll find you can simply type the number e.g '31' into the due date field to populate the date for the current month.

    Toward the end of 2024 we also made some improvements to the calendar picker within new invoicing so you can now easily access the calendar without having to click 'pick another date' which may also help some in the idea here.

  18. The ability to mark customers to exclude from sending statements, or add more filters ( including customer groups) in statements page, which will help to find correct group of clients to send statements. This will simplify collections process.

  19. When creating/editing an invoice with the new style, you can select fields to show/hide. We would like to be able to change these and set the changes as default - at the moment you have to go in and select the ones you would like to see every time you are editing an invoice. The main one for us is the discount column - we would like to see this on every invoice. Having this functionality to show/hide is good, but just don't want to change this every time.

As you may have seen in other updates we're working on a new line item grid that will encompass a few enhancements we know our customers want to see, and will also include an improvement to the behaviour of the show/hide fields so the options you select will be retained. I'll come back to confirm when this is released.

    Thanks for the engagement with this idea, everyone. This isn't possible atm however just to provide some options of being able to add a gratuity or tip to an existing invoice.

    You could have a inventory item set up for this. When a customer provides you a tip you would then edit the invoice and add this item, entering quantity as 1 and tip amount as the unit price. This way you could have the account and tax rate auto entered.

    Appreciate this may not suit all circumstance, but hopefully helps some here.

    We don't have any current plans for this but will update you if there's any news.
