We completely agree with this idea and believe it is not only relevant for NZ but also highly important for AU users.

We work with a large number of clients and being able to have at least two draft pay runs available at the same time would significantly improve both efficiency and workflow. This would be especially helpful during busy periods and public holidays when payroll needs to be prepared in advance, but last-minute changes (such as overtime adjustments or employee updates) are still required.

At the moment, having to complete the current pay run or create unscheduled pay runs adds unnecessary complexity and time pressure, particularly when managing a high volume of employees and frequent changes.

This functionality would make a real difference for payroll teams in practice.

Yep, like all great ideas and timesaving updates for existing users, this will be put on the backburner and ignored. Also why are features not added across all versions of Xero, ie AU as well as NZ plus others as we could all use it. Just like work patterns for partt imers and casuals which is avail to NZ but not AU. TBH, Xero forum is so hard to use and ideas/feedback ignored, it defeats the purpose and most ppl give up - maybe that's the plan! Easier to lure new users than help the loyal ones.

Currently in the process of trying to do 4 weeks' pay in advance and have to rely on nothing changing as I would have to delete each pay run prior to the last one it is very frustrating, and it really needs to be looked at

This would be great for AU payroll as well! Leading up to Christmas break especially, is helpful to small business owners to set up these draft pay runs for a few weeks in advance then post them as needed (reduces the amount of time spent while on leave creating pay runs)

This would be such a useful feature and make life easier and more efficient, particularly over holiday periods

This would be very useful in AU Payroll too. Instead of having notes everywhere about say deductions, the line could be entered straight into a draft pay run. Also useful for upcoming terminations etc.

This is really an important idea and really need it implemented in AU Payroll as soon as it could be.

It would make things so much easier for shutdown periods when you have to do multiple pays.

I feel this needs to be done as soon as possible it is too restrictive and it does not make sense and yes, it is so time consuming

Please update this functionality. Other providers offer this so it should be achievable.
