Organisation settings - Copy a 'Live Xero Organisation’ details into the Demo company.
Ability to copy/duplicate details into Demo Company.
Purpose: To easily test any changes in the Demo Company rather than implementing it directly into ‘Live Xero organisation’.
65 votesHi community, we appreciate your support and sharing here and want to apologise we haven't responded on this idea before now.
We understand there are opportunities to improve the demo company and provide customers with more flexibility and simplicity in being able to test more thoroughly using the setup and structure of their own organisation, rather than needing to recreate this manually in a separate environment.
This is an area we can see value in evolving, and although this specific capability isn't currently on the roadmap, it's been noted and will remain part of future product planning conversations.
We'll make sure to share any news around this with you all, here.

Organisation settings - Ability to wind back/restore to a previous date
Ability to restore Xero org to previous date.
Purpose: To make customers able to get the previous data from the previous date if they made mistakes in their Xero org.
106 votesHi everyone, with the recent changes in Xero Product ideas, we will shift this idea to Not in pipeline to set the expectation here.
While a direct option to restore or unwind an organisation to a previous date in time isn't in our plans, as previously mentioned to confirm - Xero performs daily backups of customer data to protect against data corruption and hosting service failures. However, these backups are not available for users to restore their organisation to a previous state.
To reiterate from my last response, most actions in Xero are reversible (for example Remove & Redo on bank transactions) and our help article on Xero Central explains some of these options that can help with needs expressed in this conversation.
The History & Notes report can be highly useful to review actions recently made so you can 'undo' these.
For future cases, if you're looking to…

Multicurrency - Support for new currencies & Bitcoin
To have the ability to add additional currencies that are not on the standard list.
Purpose: Business accept payments in Bitcoin and have no way to add that to the currency list. This would allow the ability to calculate tax, profit, and loss from the currency/cryptocurrency that the business is using.
131 votesHello I am the product manager for the group within Xero which looks after the currency capability.
I follow the digital currency space closely, I find it incredibly interesting both sociologically as well as technically. However as a product manager my role is to ensure that my engineering group works on the things that create the most value, for the most people, and in alignment with the company's long term goals and aspirations.
Digital currencies continue to have an extremely passionate, but also extremely small group of users who want to see them handled in Xero. The cost remains very high for us to deliver this feature, and does not make a difference to enough peoples lives to justify that investment. There are a lot more touchpoints than many people appreciate to implement crypto properly. Huge decimal precision, UX, currency rate feeds, revaluation logic, reporting - all need changes to…

Notifications - Email/notification when items are Awaiting Approval in Xero
Ability to notify an approver within the Xero org when items are in the Awaiting Approval status.
Purpose: Approver can approve or decline the transactions faster.
377 votesHi community, we appreciate the challenges manually chasing approvals can cause in the flow of processing your transactions.
We’re pleased to share that we’re now actively working on a customisable bill approvals workflow to tackle this front on. As part of the flow an approver will receive an email when their approval step becomes active, and within Xero you’ll be able to see what needs attention.
This means the person responsible can go straight to the bill, review it and approve or reject it without searching through the wider bills list. 🙂
We recognise this work is limited to bills at present and there are users that'd also like to see these similar notifications on other document types. This is something we’ll continue to consider how we might leverage these notification patterns for other areas of Xero but don’t have commitments for as yet.

Navigation - Ability to open multiple Xero organisations on different tabs
To make users able to open different Xero organisations in different tabs.
Purpose: To improve the accountant's workflow, rather than jumping into different browsers.
114 votesHi everyone, thanks for the engagement in this idea overtime. Being transparent, we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to work across multiple organisations at a time.
Allowing multiple organisations to be open in one browser session creates risk of entering data for one organisation in another that'd create a permanent audit trail in the wrong place.
However, as shared by some here there are workarounds;
- You can use separate web browsers or incognito windows for each organisation, or
- Create multiple profiles within a browser like Chrome.
Both these options provide safer process for accessing different organisations at once.
If we make any plans to revisit this in the future we'll update this idea to share with you all here.

Homepage - Add a Tracking Categories widget with recent amounts assigned
Ability to see tracking watchlist on the Xero dashboard.
Purpose: To save users’ time from clicking and going through multiple pages.
48 votesHi team, we appreciate interest and the value our customers have in using and being able to keep track that transactions have ben assigned to Tracking categories in your org.
As we continue to develop Xero, ideas in the forums here are being considered closely by our product teams.
I want to be upfront that we don't have any immediate plans for developing a Tracking widget or adding a tracking view to the existing widgets, but if any work is picked up around this we'll be sure to let you know here. Thanks

Organisation settings - Remember my settings preferences in Xero
Ability to save and remember users’ settings in Xero (e.g. view of chart of accounts).
Purpose: Each users’ in Xero org have their own settings preference, and by enabling this feature, it’ll improve their workflow.
28 votesHi team, while not relevant to all areas of Xero atm. As we continue to develop the product you'll find there are many places where teams are beginning to add improvements to behaviours such as Xero remembering your last selection.
For example, in the Products and Services page(Inventory items) if you make a change to the number of items shown, and navigate away from the page when you return this selection is remembered. A couple of exceptions to this is when you change browsers, or if you're using incognito mode or a private browsing page.
We appreciate there are more places across Xero you'd like to see these behaviours and we'll keep you updated of more improvements here.
