lock date
Lock Dates - multiple or progressive lock dates are needed.
Many users ignore or aren't aware of the two lock date options so tend to put (or remove) the same date in both.
Once a lock date is removed, all prior periods are open. I am currently working on a file where I had locked 30 June 2024. Another user unlocked and edited entries. I've discussed it with them and re-locked 2024.

PLEASE MAKE USER ACCESS FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE
Why can't Xero give an adviser the option to select the access per user? I want to choose what user gets what access, not letting the role decide the level of access. Please make it fully custom per user.

Global search - ability to search for amount including comma for thousand separator
This seems like an absolute no-brainer.
When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.
This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

Navigation | Search - Show and select from recent search history
Have the search bar bring up a list of your most recent searches instead of having to re-type what you're after.

Navigation - Add Urgent or Priority to Projects menu
Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones. Vendor Notes added to the top of the page
It would be nice if we could have vendor notes at the top of the page. This is the section where we post if a vendor auto-charges us so we don't pay twice. it's also where we note any other important information that pertain to some invoices, but not others.

access to view/access bank accounts customisable by user not pre defined
Ability to access/view bank accounts is currently predefined by user setting, this should be something that can be independently selected regardless of user setting.
Example currently if you give standard access so an individual can raise a PO they get access to bank accounts

Navigation - Add link to go into Files from the menu
Add button to go straight to Files on top tool bar instead of clicking twice (once on org name) and then Files
4 votesHi Rosemarie, appreciate the ask to minimise clicks when accessing the Files library—those small efficiencies can make a big difference in day-to-day work.
To be upfront, our Product team doesn’t currently have plans to add Files to the menu bar. That said, we’ve moved this idea into Gaining support so the community can add votes and comments, which helps us better gauge overall interest and impact.
In the meantime, a quick tip you might find helpful: pressing the slash key (/ or /?) and then F will show a link to the Files Library that you can click straight away.

Organisation Settings - Allow customisation of company name abbreviations (initials)
The 3 letters that are by the company name are automatically chosen by Xero, we should be allowed to change this to something relevant, for example, my company is called ACR Fabrications Ltd, common sense would dictate those 3 letters should be ACR yet xero has chosen AFL which is obviously the first letter of each part but that's not relevant to my company

Users - Login history only shows 60 days extend to longer period
I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

Navigation - Ability to customise menus
New Xero ribbon - can it be amended?
Too much! There are things I don't use or need day to day. "Dashboard" became "home". Ok not great, but okay.
The the "+" icon on the ribbon gives me the shortcut to anything.
Xero has just gone and cluttered it up with stuff I don't need day to day. Like "Payroll" and "Reporting". Anyone else agree/disagree? I want to assure you we did a lot of user research and testing of the new navigation to ensure it would suit the needs of majority of businesses.
We'd like to continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea but want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans of enabling any time in the near future.

Include dates of updates on support pages - some of the information/instructions do not correspond to the current version of Xero.

Navigation - Freeze bar at the top of the page to save scrolling
Can the main pull down bar (Dashboard, Business, Accounting, Projects, Contacts) be fixed at the top of the page? When viewing a screen that has 100 or more lines, it would be a lot more convenient to have immediate access to this than having to scroll all the way back up.

Group of companies
Where you have a group of companies, it would be great if you could have a HomePage which consilidated the position across all Group companies. Forinstance if you had 3 subsidiaries under 1 topco, it would be great to see the cash balances, creditors and debtors of all 4 companies in one place.

user list
Xero user list -is it possible to get a list of all users on Xero for all organizations, we are a Not for Profit and have about 30 entities which have a number of users in each Xero organization. I know that you can get a user list if they are on the staff list in Xero HQ, but it would be good to have a report to get all users in all the Xero organizations instead of going into each entity and then going to Organization name > Settings > Users

Log into more than one company
It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once. Notifications - Tag other users in Notes and elsewhere
Anywhere we can add Notes (invoices, transactions, etc.) we should be able to tag other users. I'd like to write a note for my bookkeeper and tag her so she knows to go look at it.
Those tags should then show up as notifications in that users console and/or some sort of "To-do" area.

Multicurrency - Option to not assign Tracking Categories to Bank Revaluation
Currently our monthly bank revaluation FX diff is being automatically coded by Xero to be split between tracking categories rather than simply being "unassigned". However, for our purposes, once USD are banked, they no longer "belong" to that tracking category and instead are general company funds. It is impossible to tell Xero to stop coding revaluation amounts to tracking categories but this doesn't make sense for the accounts, especially when a tracking category finished within the business months ago. It would make more sense for the FX funds held to be an unassigned tracking category once they are in the…

Navigation | Reporting and Accounting tabs together
As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.
