Xero Accounting app - Ability to view Balance Sheet
Hi Xero Team,
I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.
As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll get a sens of the interest for viewing the Balance Sheet in the Xero Accounting app from the community here and I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

Navigation - Add Urgent or Priority to Projects menu
Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones. Navigation - Add link to go into Files from the menu

4 votesHi Rosemarie, appreciate the ask to minimise clicks when accessing the Files library—those small efficiencies can make a big difference in day-to-day work.
To be upfront, our Product team doesn’t currently have plans to add Files to the menu bar. That said, we’ve moved this idea into Gaining support so the community can add votes and comments, which helps us better gauge overall interest and impact.
In the meantime, a quick tip you might find helpful: pressing the slash key (/ or /?) and then F will show a link to the Files Library that you can click straight away.

Users - Login history only shows 60 days extend to longer period
I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

We can appreciate that the Users - login history should show a period longer than 60 days, We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Navigation - Ability to customise menus
New Xero ribbon - can it be amended?
Too much! There are things I don't use or need day to day. "Dashboard" became "home". Ok not great, but okay.
The the "+" icon on the ribbon gives me the shortcut to anything.
Xero has just gone and cluttered it up with stuff I don't need day to day. Like "Payroll" and "Reporting". Anyone else agree/disagree? I want to assure you we did a lot of user research and testing of the new navigation to ensure it would suit the needs of majority of businesses.
We'd like to continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea but want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans of enabling any time in the near future.

Navigation - Freeze bar at the top of the page to save scrolling
Can the main pull down bar (Dashboard, Business, Accounting, Projects, Contacts) be fixed at the top of the page? When viewing a screen that has 100 or more lines, it would be a lot more convenient to have immediate access to this than having to scroll all the way back up.

Log into more than one company
It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once. Organisation Settings - Allow customisation of company name abbreviations (initials)
The 3 letters that are by the company name are automatically chosen by Xero, we should be allowed to change this to something relevant, for example, my company is called ACR Fabrications Ltd, common sense would dictate those 3 letters should be ACR yet xero has chosen AFL which is obviously the first letter of each part but that's not relevant to my company

Navigation | Reporting and Accounting tabs together
As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.

Inventory Permissions - Ability to set for a Standard user
New Inventory Permissions - Standard user automatically gets full control of inventory. Is it possible to customise this like you have in Invoice only to View,Edit etc?
Could we please request further customisation of inventory permissions?
Under the current permission structure (NEW), a standard user has the ability to edit and manage inventory. However, if reduced to Invoice only, they can view inventory items (which is helpful) but they lose the ability to view all invoices for a contact. This makes it difficult for them to properly review customer purchasing history.

Just to check in terms of the Invoice Only role that you'd be looking to assign your staff - Is this is the Invoice Only draft role? If they don't need access to purchases perhaps the Invoice Only - Sales role would be appropriate where they'd still be able to view all invoices for a contact and can be assigned the 'View' permission for inventory.

Permissions - Give Invoice Only users access to Send/Print for approved invoices
Invoice Only User SHOULD have access to "send and print" feature once the Purchase Order were approved. To address this concern, a user should have an access level of Invoice Only + Purchases, however, changing the permission to this level, the inputs made by other users, which might be confidential and unnecessarily to be seen by others, are compromised. I would like to request to add this feature (send and print) for the Invoice Only users.

Giving Invoice Only users the ability to send or print approved invoices has the potential to simplify your workflow and make day-to-day tasks more efficient.
Enabling this functionality would allow the same users who create and approve invoices to also send or print them, reducing handovers and helping your business operate more smoothly. It’s a great example of how a small change can lead to better team autonomy.
Currently, this action is available to users with Standard, Advisor, or Invoice Only – Approve & Pay roles. Expanding this to other Invoice Only roles, such as Draft, Sales, or Purchases could make Xero even more flexible for teams with clearly defined responsibilities.

allow "invoice only" users to post to xero from orderwise
I would like a member of staff to be able to post to Xero from our Orderwise ERP software when I am away, so that I can have a holiday where i don't have to log in to Xero and Orderwise every morning. It is not currently possible as she has "invoice only" access. which works for everything else she does, but will not allow her to post from Orderwise to Xero. I don't want to give her access to the bank accounts so I'm stuck. Please consider making a change to user permissions to allow this 3rd party posting…

Organisation settings - Setting to remove data 7+ years old
In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.
I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that…
10 votesAppreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.
Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;
- You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
- Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date

Group of companies
Where you have a group of companies, it would be great if you could have a HomePage which consilidated the position across all Group companies. Forinstance if you had 3 subsidiaries under 1 topco, it would be great to see the cash balances, creditors and debtors of all 4 companies in one place.

Invoice Only - unable to:- run reports (such as suggested payments & debtors reports), send remits on batch payments, view receipts, advan
Invoice only - unable to carry out below tasks essential to my role (I was able to this on previous system), can only have access to the below if I can see the bank which the business owner does not want.
Would be helpful for basic functions to be more accessible and/or to be able to customise user permissions based on companies own set up
Run reports (eg. Suggested payments, debtors etc)
Send reminders when payments are due (not automated)
Send remits in batch payments (we make the majority of payments on BACs runs)
Advance postings on sales invoice

Restrict access to certain contacts
It would be great if it is possible to include restrictions within the a specific contact, to be able to make private in order to limited the users who has access to a contact, especially when the contact contains private information that should not be accessible by all users I.e Staff members/directors/share holders who are set up as contacts through bank transactions.

Have the ability to open multiple entities on multiple tabs and be able to colour code each entity for easy identification

Dashboard - Please, have folders on Dashboard so that bank accounts can be grouped and limitiation of 50 accounts can be bypassed
Today I learned with shock that the new dashboard only supports 50 bank accounts for display. Unfortunately, we have more accounts which on the new dashboard layout will not be shown. That is not good for our organisation. The workaround via the "list of accounts" is cumbersome and definitely not an improvement.
If more than 50 bank accounts cannot be displayed on the dashboard or "Home" page, would it be possible to have FOLDERS on the dashboard like folders on a PC desktop or on a smartphone? Then I could allocate around 10 bank accounts into one folder according to…

User Role – Enhancement to Invoice Only (Sales) for Payment Management
We are encountering a limitation within the current user roles that is hindering our Sales team’s efficiency in managing customer accounts.
The Issue:
The existing 'Sales (Invoice Only)' role does not provide the necessary permission for sales staff to amend, edit, or delete payments applied to invoices. This is critical for adjusting client balances quickly during the sales and collection cycle.
The only alternative role grants full access, including Purchases/Accounts Payable, which we cannot provide to the Sales team due to internal control policies.
