Dashboard - Edit dashboard layout
Dashboard- It would be great if Xero gave us more options to edit out Dashboards. Two colums are not enough, at the most I get to see four accounts before I have to scroll, they needn't be so large either. If they had three colums, and we could shrink the size of the 'boxes' then we could easily see a better snapshot of work to do and where the business is at.

As you may have seen or perhaps even have access to already - over the coming months we are releasing a new Xero Homepage that'll replace the existing Dashboard.
We've done lots of research and testing with our customers for the new homepage. You'll be able to customise to show which widgets you want, and it's built with updated technology so is much more responsive - adapting based on your device, screen size and zoom functions to show a maximum of 4 widgets side-by-side!

Demo Company - Prioritise Demo Company for new feature rollouts
Could the Demo Company please be updated first when new features are being rolled out. Often want to test how a new feature works (eg the current Investment Boost in Fixed Assets) or take the Staff through training on the new features, without having to do this in a Client's live data.
If the Demo Company can have the features first, then can do testing and training of staff before see in the Client's live data.

Homepage - Icons for shortcuts to features
Create a "widget" with a customizable icon shortcuts to have it where you can click on one button and get you to where you need to go instead of navigation through menus. Have a way to only show which icons appear. For me, it would be "invoices, expenses, refunds, chart of accounts, and inventory". See the attached mock up of what I'm talking about. It would be so nice to have shortcuts right there on the homepage.

Totally get it's not exactly what you're suggesting here but just as a highlight around shortcuts there are a few that can be used anywhere in Xero to help you quickly navigate to some features such as '/a' to get to the all bank accounts screen, or '/e' to go to all employees 😊

Navigation - Add shortcut to Tracking in the Accounting dropdown
When will the ability to add a shortcut to the settings like "tracking category" and "Fixed Assets" to the "accounting" dropdown menu be re-activated like you could do with the old task bar, or is this another case of "we don't care about our customers bookkeeper's productivity being lost" as all the other dropdown menus appear to have all the shortcuts?
3 votesThanks for your feedback on navigation shortcuts. We appreciate you explaining how important quick access to Tracking Categories and Fixed Assets is for your workflow. You should see Fixed Assets within the Accounting menu already. However, you are correct that accessing Tracking Categories requires an additional click and are shown under the Accounting Settings option.

Logo on homepage
Can we please have the ability to add company logos? You have logos for the bank feeds, but when you have multiple company acocunts, adding logos woul dbe great.

There should be an option to automatically send my Xero bills to bills
2 votesHi Mike, thanks for sharing your idea about Xero subscription billing.
We’ve reviewed your suggestion and moved it to Gaining support, which means it’s now open for votes and comments from the wider community.
In the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds that might help:
- You can set up an auto-forwarding rule in your email so your subscription invoices are automatically sent to your organisation’s email-to-bills address.
- If you’re using a UK, NZ, or AU organisation, you can also choose to receive your subscription invoices as eInvoices directly in the Bills tab.

User Role - Access to specific feature only
"Business and accounting" role needs ability to more narrowly define. I want an employee to access invoices (receivables) but that then gives them access to ALL financial reporting, e.g. P&L, which I don't want them to see.

As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

latest update removal
Please remove the latest update on Xero: when you copy an invoice it automatically opens a new tab on my laptop. I have more than 20 invoices to post everyday, I do not wish to have 20 tabs on my screen in the end. Not every update is a good update. When you don't have a better update, it's better to just maintain it.

Navigation - Ability to rename menus
Please allow non-profits to change the terminology from sales to receipts etc on the new navigation pane. Sales is not appropriate for us . Thank you

Being open we don't have any plans for enabling users to change the naming of menu's, however we'd like to get a sense of the interest in this sort of capability and understanding more of the terminology that most resonates for our customers here.

Xero Product Ideas - Notifications - enable/disable per post
Currently Product Idea notifications are either enabled or disabled.
Which means I get a ridiculous amount of emails for every single product idea I've ever commented or voted on. And given Xero's inability to actually resolve any of these issues, the number of notifications is going up and up.
Currently, because of the amount of complaints about the new homepage my inbox is full every morning.
I don't want any more notifications reminding me how bad the new home page is. However, I do want notifications on a lot of the other 'Product Ideas' that I am following.

Onboarding - Add Xero to the list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business"
When creating a new organisation, there isn't an option to choose Xero from the dropdown list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business". I'm migrating from one org to another because of limitations in your PAYE scheme functionality. Right now, a user can't select Xero from the list, which may help you shed light on users who are either running into org challenges or who are power users of your tools.

Permissions - Auditor roles that allows read only access to everything
We're auditors and some of our clients are having issues around providing consistent access to everything as they don't want us to have read-write access, and we don't want that either. What we'd like is a user class for auditors/regulators which is read only and allows access to everything.

XPM - Allow bookkeepers to sign up without TPB registeration
The current signup process, while being advertised for bookkeepers actually requires a registration with the TPB as a tax or BAS agent, however pure bookkeepers categorising transactions and doing account reconciliations have no need to lodge BAS' and hence no reason to obtain a BAS agent number.
This oversight prohibits bookkeepers from signing up to the partner program and growing the platform.
A simple "do you intend to make lodgements for your clients - yes/no" button before the "BAS agent number" input field would suffice.
1 voteAppreciate you sharing the idea here Hamish. bookkeepers can’t sign up for the Xero partner programme without BAS/TPB registration at the moment. We understand this may not be useful for people who do not want to register for Tax. We'll open this idea up to the community so we can gain some support on it. Bank accounts - Ability for Managers to approve updated bank account details for contacts.
Add the ability for Managers to approve bank account details for contacts. Ie the Bookkeeper can enter in & change the suppliers bank account details in Xero, but the manager can then go an approve it.

Navigation - Back to the top button at bottom of page
Please could you add a 'Back to the top' button, especially on the reconcile and report pages, but every page would be useful.
After scrolling down many line items, it would be far quicker to have this function implemented for ease.15 votesHi team, thanks for showing interest in this idea.
While we don't have any plans for adding this within Xero atm, as mentioned in my last update if you're working on a desktop you can use the 'Home' button on a Windows, or on a Mac you can press the 'Command' key + Left arrow.
This should help when navigating a long lists or pages like reports.
We will continue to track the appetite through this idea.

Xero Login - Enable Passkeys as a replacement to passwords
Passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/passkeys/) are rapidly taking over passwords and are infinitely more secure than passwords.
Intuit are already using Passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/case-study-intuits-roi-from-passwordless-customer-authentication/)
71 votesHi team, we've just launched passkeys to our first group of users. From this week, Xero Me app users who haven't set up MFA yet will be able to use passkeys to log into Xero. Next, we'll be progressively rolling this out to more users over the coming months. We look forward to and welcome your feedback here. As we have more news on the rollout I'll share with you on this idea.

Dashboard | Watchlist - Customise at the user level
Could the Accounts Watchlist feature have an option to have user specific watchlists? The accounts I want to pay close attention to as Head of Finance is different to what the Finance Assistant wants to see. Not all accounts are organisation wide specific.

Xero Login - Authenticate with Face ID on desktop
Hi Xero. I can log into Xero on my phone using facial recognition, but it's not available on my desktop, why is that? Should be easy to do, right? Current MFA whilst necessary is cumbersome, facial ID is simple and safe.
