  2. Just wondering if there is anything in the pipeline at all where you could potentially upload support documents, receipts, invoices etc behind the tax return item item while in the ITR. Would be a very handy function for individual tax returns.

  3. Ability to be able to report on the date sent for Xerosign returns. The date sent is recorded but you can't report on it. This would make follow ups a lot easier to be able to see when each out to sign return was sent for e-signing.

  4. Currently Xero tax can print tax returns by withholding the TFN Numbers which is really good. However, if that same functionality can be added for the bank account details and date of birth it would be great

  5. Document packs that are cancelled, send a notification to clients. it would be good to be able to cancel the document pack and have the option of whether or not to notify the client.

  7. When preparing the statutory accounts in Xero Tax it would be great to have the feature to create your own "freeform note". For example, I need to add a secured debts note to the accounts however Xero does not currently provide this note amongst the list, therefore I need a freeform note where I can determine the heading and body of the note to feature in the notes to the financial statements. Currently the workaround is to declare the secured debts note as a line with the creditors which makes the presentation of the accounts weak.

    Thanks for everyone's contributions, here.

    Things have moved on a lot since we last updated this idea - we recently launched Company Accounts, a new accounts production solution built directly within Xero which supports FRS 105 and FRS 1021a accounts for limited companies.

    A lot of our customers feedback was incorporated into the development of this, particularly around notes.

    We've updated a lot of disclosures for FRS 1021a and there's core text editor functions throughout these and the accounting policies which allows you to style the font, add bullets/numbering and add bespoke tables.

    We'll continue reviewing this idea but building Company Accounts into Xero allows us to move much faster than we could before so we're going to continue focusing on specific note requests first so that we can save you as much time right out of the gates as possible, without having to invest time building your own notes.

  8. This is to do with Custom Reports and should be little effort for a good result.

    I note that after discussions with Xero the [Tax Return AU] Not Started Returns field is only available in the Client Returns report. It would be great to have [Tax Return AU] Not Started Returns in the Tax Return report area so you could generate a report on which returns have been started, in addition to the current status of the ones that have been started (ie Draft, Complete, Lodged) at the moment we can only see if a tax return has been created…

  9. Ability to set the client branding theme in XPM to push across to Xero. This comes from the branding theme set at the client level not working as the firms default branding theme currently is applied to all invoices. By default it should use the branding theme against the clients contact record in Xero as we have set this up but not working as per bottom comment on this help article here: https://central.xero.com/s/article/Set-default-invoice-quote-templates

  10. to run a report that pulls the History of tax returns into it, including:
    1. Staff member who prepared the return, and date prepared.
    2. Staff member who lodged the return, and date lodged
    Currently if we run the report builder, it only can show account manager's name, it doesn't seem to have the option to show lodgment person's name.

  11. Currently notes need to be updated manually on the financial statements (as far as I am aware). New accounts need to be added to the respective notes otherwise the figure in the notes will not match the figures in the financial statements.
    I feel that this is inviting error as inevitably there will be times where this process is overlooked.

    it would significantly simplify the process if Xero recognises where a note is connected to a financial statement line item, and then automatically fills in the notes with the same accounts grouped in the financials.

  12. It would be great to have an option to prepare a CT600 only: We prepare a number of accounts for friendly societies so don't file accounts for them, but we do need to file CT600s for them.

  14. It would be helpful if XPM could automatically select 'Split Provisional 50/50' for clients since the system already has the information from the IRD to do this. This would stop clients future provisional tax showing incorrectly on a current tax return and in tax payment reminders and would instead ensure the figures advised to pay agreed to the IRD's figures without us having to manually intervene.

    Hi community, we're excited to share that the ability to add notes to all line items will be soon available to all in new Xero Workpapers!   16. it would be great if the tax offset from superannuation income stream could be automatically calculated like how the MYOB AE Tax does. Instead of manually enter the number in the box.

    HI Sally, jumping back on your idea here our team are working on providing more flexibility to the info you view from Job Manager.

    Right now, we're developing columns for Staff, Manager and Partners. Around the same time we expect to deliver these additions, we'll also enable you to hide detail you'd prefer not to view. So, you can decide and only see the information relevant for you when viewing Jobs.

    We'll return to share more when this is available🙂

  20. Automatically pull through client addresses from their Xero to Xero HQ Client List to avoid having to enter them manually each time and to ensure that any change of address is updated.
