  1. In XPM, there is a subtotal of all the amounts of each task in the fixed price column. It would be handy to show a subtotal of all amounts for each task in the calculated column. This would allow you to see, at a glance, the write up/down for the invoice.

  2. Xero workpaper would also show the actual file report and not just the links when exporting the workpaper. This is only available for files uploaded to the workpaper. Our practice uses FYI docs where all the relevant schedules, documents, and files are uploaded and we simply link it to Xero Workpapers. This is also helpful for practices who are using cloud storing services for documents and files.

  3. I would find it very useful to have an unlinked depreciation schedules in Xero Tax. Including amortisation schedules for borrowing costs and also assets that are used for business and employment purposes creates efficiency by including it in the return.

  4. Currently when copying a job then the costs and milestones are automatically copied as well. It would be great to be given the option to copy these or not. Most of the time we do not want to copy these specifically the costs

Would it be possible to integrate a feature where the workpapers notify the user that there may be Xero accounts that have balances in the relevant year that have not pulled through to any of the workpapers being used (say for example because the report codes mapping for a new account has not been set up properly)?

  6. When sending tax payment letters out via email it would be great to get an email if the address used is invalid. Like a bounce-back when you send an email from your usual email program. At the moment you have no idea if the client received the tax payment letter at all.

  7. The Pre-fill has capital losses noted in it, so it would be great if the pre-fill amount was reflected rather than relying on roll forward information. Seems to be commonly missed with new clients.

  8. Enable a Bank account to be created when the Chart of Accounts we have created in HQ is imported. Currently, this is not possible. All Bank accounts in the COA need to be changed to Current Assets, and then in the newly created Xero Blue organisation file, the "Bank" accounts have to be deleted and created again! Very annoying. The overall process is great, but this is annoying. We have many bank accounts in our various standard chart of accounts. I want to include the bank accounts so that my staff know the account numbers to use when they set…

  9. Would be great if we could update fields in one go for multiple entities across a group (similar to how the address field allows you to). For example, the Partner, Manager, Class, etc is generally the same across the group (how we use it), so it would be good if we could update these sections for everyone in the group in one go (even if we need to access one of the entity profiles, and from there it asks if we want to update the other entities as well).

  11. Xero currently defaults to print/show TFNs on 2017 or older returns (eg Show TFN ticked). However it defaults to NOT print/show on 2018 - 2023 returns. We have been told this is something we cannot change in our settings, it would be a much safer option if we were able to control this setting, or at least have it all operating the same way.

  12. The mandatory notes section on FRS 105 needs upgrading, so that the notes on things like movement in directors loans, and operating lease commitments, can be completed by merely filling in numbers into a template matrix. At the moment, no tabular layout is possible.

  13. we use job numbers to identify the works being carried out so I entered the Job number in Contacts against the Client name but this number comes out on the invoice against the client name on the address block. It would be good to be able to have multiple jobs nos for each client so we can identify the job no. on the Customer page

  14. Ability to hide more sensitive data from staff.

    I have an employee who works overseas. Currently I think we can only hide the TFN details but it would be good to also be able to hide date of birth, address and now Director ID details.

    They do not need to see all of the sensitive data when preparing tax returns so it would be good to have some options of what data we can hide from employees.

  15. For Practise Accounts
    have one section for internal notes on the client that can be updated
    - Files can be attached but not updated
    - Notes in a Report Text Box are only specific to that report
    Need a permanent place that I can add notes, instructions, updates to my staff dealing with a client

  17. Ability to enter historical Ad-Hoc time. If entering ad-hoc time for yesterday or older - you have to enter as todays date, then edit the entry to change the date.

    Would be much easier to have the option to select the date in the initial posting - rather having to edit.

  18. Ability to amend or remove some of the system data fields such as 'Year end date'. Not all clients need a year end date (for example if they have just signed up for some consulting work). We have successfully used 'custom fields' to tailor XPM to match our client database needs and it would be great to also have control over some of the custom fields to remove as we don't need all of them.

  20. Does Xero have any plans to incorporate 'Xero Tax' in the trial version? I can see that there are a number of videos on Xero Tax on Xero Central. If it was incorporated in the trial version- it would provide students with hands-on experience as opposed to just watching videos or reading texts.

    As Xero is now being used by many accounting firms, Tax professionals who are currently working in other platforms such as Sage Handisoft or MYOB don't know how Xero tax works. When they are trying to change companies- it would provide them an advantage if they are…
