XPM - Time Budgets on Recurring Job
Would be great if you could add estimated time budgets to tasks at the recurring job level, rather than having to manually add them each time a new job is created from the recurring template.
Having the ability to set time budgets at the recurring job level would save time, particularly for annual accounts jobs where the estimated time is consistent.

XPM Permissions - Separate permission for 'Edit Client Notes'
Problem
Currently, editing "Client Notes" requires full "Client record" view & edit access. There is no way to allow staff to update notes without also giving them the ability to edit other client details.Impact
This creates an all-or-nothing permission issue. In many cases, teams want staff to freely update notes, but not have access to change core client information. This increases risk and limits practical delegation.Workarounds like using "Job Notes" are not suitable, as they are not visible on the main client record.

ESIGN OF STATEMENTS / REPORTS
It would be nice if client that need to sign the report were able to be send an electronic copy and are able to sign electronically via the ask function. Instead of needing to use a third-party application. It would greatly assist with record keeping and making sure all the imported items are stored withing one app.

NZ Tax - Correct amount when provisional tax unpaid & provisional date has passed
If a client fails to pay the first installment of provisional tax why is it then added to the next installment and then P1 shows as nothing due. This is incorrect, the amount due at P1 is still the same (per the IRD), the debt at P1 has not moved to P2. What happens for client's who have RIT over $60k?

Partner Program - Eliminate 60-day Subscription Requirement
This may not gain much traction with established partners, but for those of us who are new to Xero and are working to establish a business, the requirement to sign on a client within 60 days is a problem. At one time, the requirement was 90 days but was shortened to 60 in 2017.
It should, however, not exist at all.
Note that your closest competitor has no such requirement.What management may not realize is that it comes across as a threat from the beginning, which frankly stopped me from signing up for the program for a while. Now…

Removal of duplicate suburb name for NZ addresses
Remove duplicate suburb name for NZ addresses. Currently needs to manually delete the duplicate suburb name when using the auto-complete feature to populate address fields

Practice tools | Tax Statements & Payments - Indicator for roll forward notes
For notes made in Tax Payments: these need to be split into 2 areas, (1) notes pertaining to that provisional installment and, (2) notes that will continue to roll forward.
It is crucial that even if the installment date has passed, the notes are still visible. Also from the main Tax Payments screen we need an indicator on the client row to show that the client has an active note (with the ability to archive a note as well).

NZ tax - Run an exportable report on outstanding & mismatched transfers/refunds
Would be very beneficial to be able to run a report listing all clients who have outstanding transfers and refunds for a period (and export it). We need to be proactive and contact the IRD before they refund the client instead of actioning a transfer as requested. In APS we could pick up any mismatch early and were able to contact the IRD or the client and rectify quickly.

increase the client field length
Allow adjustable column widths in the Clients screen (like Excel), especially for the Client Name field. Long entity names are currently truncated, making it difficult to identify clients. Also allow adding additional columns such as ABN and Address. This will significantly improve usability for practices managing large client bases.

Individual Income Tax Return - Future Year Return - Tax Rate
When preparing future year return, in my case, FY2025 tax return for one individual client, even though it shows 2025 tax year, Xero tax is actually FY2024 tax rate for calculation. So the result is not accurate. Will Xero Tax fix this issue in the future?

Product Enhancement idea: have the ability to generate notices (Tax Payment letters) for clients who have been overpaid WFFTC and need to repay the IRD.

Credit notes - Add another / Supplier name Lock
Bills:
For Credit notes, when you click the 'Save' drop down, there is an option for 'Save and add another' like there is for regular Bills.
Being able to lock a supplier/ 'From' when adding Bills, so we don't need to search for every bill, for when we have multiple bills under one supplier.
Maybe a lock button next to the contact name which can be clicked to unlock it when no longer needed.

Filter by Staff Teams when Assigning Client Access
It would be useful to filter by staff teams when allocating access to a client in Xero.
We already have the ability to group staff into teams within Xero HQ, and it would speed up assigning access to large groups of staff members if we could use these teams when assigning access to a client in Xero HQ. This could be added to the 'Filter' option.

New Zealand Tax - Summarised Consolidated Tax Position
Have the ability to run a report to include in the Financial Statements that is a Group Summary, so includes all selected entities within a group and details all amounts payable or refunds due for all upcoming provisional and terminal tax dates (regardless of balance date) and a Net Tax position

when depositing moneys
when I go into the invoice and apply payment I am generally doing multiple deposits and it should direct me automatically back to invoices so I can efficiently do the next deposit. as of now it takes me to the deposited page that I grave to go back into invoices to continue causing me to do more actions then I should

be able to highlight or colour invoices
on drafts and invoices it would be nice to high light with different colours the invoices to help me know what they are for. example my field job and shop jobs I would highlight different colours.

Add Client Name within case email confirmations to assist with identification, currently we receive emails into a shared email address where anyone in our xero team could have raised a case for any client, the email we receive does not have the client name for quick identification so could this information please be added into the email text?

Move business structure to top of menu when entering new clients
In the new Xero Practice HQ, it is very annoying when adding in a new client who is an individual. You need to scroll all the way down to business structure to select business structure, change it to individual, and then go back to the top to add in date of birth and gender. Makes the process of entering a new client in much more tedious than it needs to be.

No Phone number for customer support
HAVE A PHONE LINE!
Xero claims "24/7 support" - This is a fraudulent claim.
Denying your clients a number to call is not only repugnant customer service, it is spitting in the face of people who pay for your product.
Whoever had the idea to save money by not having a number to call should be let go, uncerimoniously
