  1. Id like to have a placeholder for the prior period when using the recurring jobs function.
    When you complete a bookkeeping job you are doing this on prior period data so the recurring job functionality to use 'period' is not useful as it creates the workflow job a week in advance.

  2. Similar to Xero Receipt Scanner, but just for timesheets

    A functionality (app) that can scan a manual handwritten timesheet from a notebook and enter the time spent into XPM timesheet, for people who prefer manually writing timesheets in a notebook.

  3. If a company is dissolved Companies House reports back that there are no year end date outstanding. But there are circumstances when you need to prepare axcounts for a dissolved company - for instance if you need to get the company re-instated. But Xero prevents you from progressing. All you would need to do is enter a year end date manually and you would be able to continue.

  4. From what I understand is common in a lot of firms is when a client leaves/dies/etc their client profile is archived in XPM and the data persists into infinity.

    Given the latest high profile data breaches is would be good if XPM had a Housekeeping module where firms could identify archived clients where the attached Personally Identifiable Information (In particular TFN, Bank account, phone/mobile and addresses) is no longer needed and permanently remove it in a structured process.

    A similar process may need to be created for the forms that we generate from XPM so they they are permanently removed…

  5. Reporting on XPM - I need to run a report from XPM that shows me ALL our clients who haven't had a job booked in yet showing the name "2023" so I can then chase them for checklists.

    I can't see how to run a report that shows this. I really don't want to have to run multiple reports and compare things off - with over 1200 clients this takes an awful long time.

    There has to be a simpler way.

  6. Bulk importing/creation of Jobs - to include Tasks with Estimated Time and Staff on Job.
    I would like to do a bulk creation of the Job and also then bulk creation of Tasks and Estimated Time, and to allocate to Staff on the Job. Or an easy entry area to update the Job Task Estimated time so you don't have to enter into each job individually to enter this data.

  7. In the new job manager Adhoc jobs no longer appear in the all jobs list.

    As part of our Adhoc time review we would turn an Adhoc job into a regular job by changing the name, adding a budget, updating date etc. We have just done this for 50 jobs but they don't appear in the all jobs list.

    There needs to be a way to turn an adhoc job into a regular job. Creating a new job and moving time is an unnecessary step when an adhoc job appearance doesn't look any different to a regular job.

    Hi community, we appreciate hearing your interest around the reports that would be useful for you to use in Report Templates.

    We have decided to split the request for Payroll reports and the Tracking Summary report as it is unlikely these would both be added at once.

    You'll find the new idea for the Tracking Summary report across here and this one will remain centered around Payroll reports.

    We want to be honest that we don't have any plans at this stage for adding payroll reports to Report Templates. But, our product teams are aware of the interest surrounding this and we'll let you know if there is any progress on this idea.

  9. If you currently want to edit a line on the to do list you have to create a new line and enter the data, than delete the previous item.
    It would be great if we could have an edit function on the to do list so we did have to add the extra step of recreation

  11. It would be good to filter deleted clients like we can for archived clients on XPM custom reports. At the moment they display on the Income Tax report that compares clients with the ATO list and there is no way to filter them out. It makes finding clients who have dropped off the ATO list difficult.

  12. Currently, Xero only lets us archive the returns that are already filed (or are in the filed status).

    There are scenarios, when the clients come in to do the tax return- we need more information and client does not respond. We do have an option of suspending the returns- however, these returns will still be left in draft making the draft tax returns list unnecessarily longer.

  14. Re the home office workpaper. It seems to calculate soley on a percentage basis yet under DB 18AA, we can claim interest/rent and rates in proportion of business use, as well as $47.85 (for 2022 and future years) per square metre (PSMR) (IRD square meterage rates) as a proxy for general home expenditure. There doesn't seem to be a workaround in the workpaper to opt for the PSMR for the general expenditure claim? I would like to claim the higher of the two calculations for my clients' thanks and would love to see the workpaper work out the better of…

  15. Xero workpaper functionality that can connect to more than one Xero file to reconcile inter-entity loan accounts, or confirm rental income and expenses, or Div 7A interest and expense, etc.

    Eg: Debit loan in Company A, Credit loan in Trust B - can link both totals to see at a glance the loans match on both debit and credit sides.
    Entity A pays related-party rent to Entity B - link B's income and A's expenses to see at a glance that the amounts are correct on both sides in both files

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on this idea 🙂

    We can see the value in this, managing inter-entity loans more easily across entities in Workpapers, especially where you’re trying to match balances and reduce manual cross-checking. We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so others can vote and add their use cases too. The more detail you can share about how you’d use this in practice, the easier it is for our team to understand the impact and prioritise future improvements.

    This is something that’s on our radar, but we don’t have a timeframe to share right now. We’ll continue to monitor the feedback here and will update this thread if there’s more to share.

  16. It would be helpful to merge clients in XPM where two accounts have been created (different names) and tax returns filed under each one. For example a client entered under their maiden name and married name who have filed tax returns. In our case a duplicate was accidently created when doing the return and we have no way to now shift the tax return to the correct and active client account in XPM.

  17. Is it possible to get the total of the VAT due/refund on the VAT report in Xero for a period. Currently one have to do a calculation to see the VAT due/refund. Or have to generate the VAT201 report to see the amount due.
    Ideal one would like to see the VAT due outomatically calculated as well as die balance of the VAT control account on one report. See attachement for an example.

  18. Adding a disclaimer & changing the substantiation declaration on the tax returns - our old system used to have this that the client could sign which we would like to make adjustments to but we have to manually add this on to tax returns in Xero tax.

Given Xero has an IR3 Rental Schedule form and Home Office Work Papers why does the business schedule workpaper only have line by line capability and not a business schedule equivalent to IR's IR3B business schedule? Why is this helpful, it means we have the ability to put in front of the client not only the income and expenses relating to their small enterprise (i.e. usually don't warrant an accounting product) and provides traceability for fixed assets and depreciation claimed.

  20. There is currently no functionality to either re-name or disable the standard business structure types provided in XPM. For example "Not for Profit" is technically an entity classification - a NFP classification could apply to a Private Company, a Public Company or an Incorporated Association to name a few examples. We have used custom fields to profile these types of classifications separately. Currently, we have to manually review business structure profiles & update these where types outside our guidelines have been applied. It would save a great deal of hassle if unwanted types could be re-configured or disabled at practice…
