  1. We are not able to search for clients (whilst in the Clients tab) using TFN or ABN.

    We are also not able to search using client's TFN or ABN when using Global Search.

    TFN and ABN are unique search identifiers and will return the correct client every time.

    Right now, our product team are looking into the ability to search via TFN from the Client list.

    They're in exploration atm, so I'll keep you updated on further progress here.

  2. It would be helpful if you could move the job information sections into any order (and this is default for all jobs & Clients). The main focus when we open a job is to review the tasks and these are way down the bottom. At the very least the default job information layout could be that all the sections are closed and you can open the section you want without have to scroll down all the time.

We're updating this idea to In discovery, which means our product team is reviewing the viability of your suggestion and exploring whether we could implement changes to the job format that better support your needs.   3. We need a Trust Estimate to be included in Trust tax returns for ALL types of trusts. Xero recently added a trust estimate but it is for Deceased Estates Less Than 3 years only. This is not useful. This type of trust is a very small percentage of the trusts that our firm has.
    We need the estimate to be able to calculate -
    - Deceased Estates More Than 3 Years
    - Discretionary Trusts where there are Foreign Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there Minor Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there is no beneficiary presently entitled

  4. Development of new functionality to meet the new FRS 102/105 requirements following from the FRC Periodic Review. Key changes are around income recognition to be based on delivery (known as the 5-step model), and an on-balance sheet treatment for operating leases.

    These requirements apply to accounting periods beginning on or after 1st January 2026,

    For the income recognition, the functionality would ideally be embedded in invoicing (and potentially products and services), and this would lead to the correct bookkeeping including disaggregation and recognition of income on delivery, as well as contract debtors and creditors.     Thanks for sharing through product ideas, here Neal. This is something our product team are currently evaluating. For now we'll move your idea to In discovery and as soon as I have more updates I'll let you know.

  5. In Xero Tax, you can enter "Any other payments or credits on account" to show what a client has already paid towards their tax bill. But you can't enter a negative figure (i.e. a refund already received for a return that is being amended) and there is nowhere to add in any outstanding tax from a previous return etc so that the payments report factors this in.

    It would be good to be able to have some additional boxes to show these please.

    Thanks for sharing your idea for being able to enter a negative figure for other payments. This is something our product team are currently exploring and we'll keep you updated on any progress for this, here.

  6. Where clients are subscribers to their own Xero but add an adviser who is linked to a Xero partner practice, it would be useful if there was an option for them to choose to give the practice as a whole access so that if, eg, their contact leaves, the practice administrator can give access to their new contact as long as they are Partner Staff.

    Hi team, we hope you are liking the new staff and client experience for managing your practice, with Xero Partner Hub beginning to rollout to practices over the coming months.

    To provide an update on the desire for being able to provide a practice access when a practice staff is invited into a clients org - this is something our teams are currently exploring. While we can't make commitments as yet, we will keep you updated of any development for this through this idea. Thanks

    Hi everyone, thanks for the on-going interest and engagement in this idea. As mentioned in our last update - tax adviser details will roll forward into the next year for each client, once added.

    However, our product team do appreciate how auto-filling the tax adviser details would make things more efficient.

    While we don't have immediate plans, this is something our teams are taking a closer look into solving for Xero Tax (UK) Personal tax.

    I'll be sure to come back and keep you updated of any progress in this space.

  8. AU Tax - Error notifications. When a return is rejected by the ATO and appears in the Error tab of the Returns section of Xero Tax, an email should be triggered to alert the tax agent so that the error can be rectified immediately.

  9. Xero Practice Manager - Tax

    I want to be able to run two reports to see which staff have tax access to which clients and to see to which clients a staff member has tax access. This is very important for security purposes and additionally to help us meet our obligations as tax agents.

    Hi all, we appreciate you sharing and supporting in the idea here. As I'm sure you'll have noticed we have released new unified client and staff experiences.

    While it's not possible to create a report to identify which staff can access client tax returns just yet, this is something that our product team are exploring.

  10. Can you take the option of making reports favourites by marking them with a star and allow us to do the same with orgs so that a Client Manager can favourite the clients in their portfolio rather than having to search for their clients among the clients of the whole practice?

    Thanks for your support on this idea, community. With Xero Partner Hub slowly rolling out to practices over the coming months our product teams are working on many enhancements that will help streamline and efficiently manage your practice.
