XPM - Show Client Managers and Job Managers on main recurring job screen
Would like to have the ability to see both client managers and job managers on the main recurring job list screen, along with the ability to export this list.
2 votesHi Geena, thanks for this great suggestion for Xero Practice Manager.
We can definitely see how having both the Client Manager and Job Manager visible on the main recurring jobs screen would make it much easier to see who is responsible for what at a glance. Adding an export option for that screen is also a great point.
We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you.
We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how this improved visibility on the recurring jobs screen could help their own practice management. 🙂

Workpapers - Ability to reorder/rearrange accounts (lines) on a workpaper
Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).

Xero HQ - Restrict Access to Specific Client Groups by User Role in HQ
It would be great to have a feature that allows users to group clients within their HQ (or the main dashboard) in a way that only selected users with specific permissions can access certain client groups. This would provide more granular control over who can see and manage specific clients, making it easier to manage access for teams working on different client accounts.
This would be especially helpful for firms with multiple teams handling different types of clients (e.g., accounting, payroll, etc.), ensuring that only relevant team members can view and work on certain client groups.
Potential Benefits:
Improved data…
1 voteHi Rumyana, this is a thoughtful idea, and we can see how having more control over who can access specific client groups in Xero HQ would be useful, especially for firms with different teams handling various services like payroll, BAS, or advisory work.
The idea has been reviewed and is now gaining support, which means it’s open for others to vote and share how this would help in their practice. As support builds, it helps give the product team a clearer view of the need across different types of firms.
If there are particular scenarios or workflows where restricted access would make a difference for your team, feel free to add those as a comment. The more context we can gather, the better positioned the team is to understand the real-world impact.
We’ll keep an eye on how the idea progresses from here.

NZ Tax - Customise declaration
It would be good to be able to customise the Declaration that is just above the signing line in the Tax Returns. The default wording is quite broad, and it we would prefer to be able to customise it to reduce our risk. Clients are not always truthful in reporting all income, and we need to protect ourselves.
4 votesThanks for sharing this idea with the community. We can understand why being able to add specific wording to the client declaration would be useful.
This idea is open for voting and comments from the community, and we'll be keeping an eye on its progress to gauge interest.
In the meantime, while it's not possible to edit the declaration on the return itself, you can add your own custom text and disclaimers to a cover letter that you send with the tax return. This might help you manage the risk you mentioned.
You can learn how to create your own templates for this here: Customise the cover letter for a tax return.

Practice Manager - Report on client bank details inc fields BSB, Account number, Account name.
Would be great to create a report in XPM that shows client bank details so we can identify clients that are missing bank details and need to be followed up. This would also avoid the issue with tax returns being lodged with no bank details recorded.

Workpapers - Add ABN on Financial Reports.
Some banks require the ABN or ACN to be present on all pages of the Financial Reports supplied to them. Currently, the only way to do this is to export the report to Excel and then painstakingly type the ABN/ACN in to every single page.
There should be an option to toggle this on/off. Alternatively a field type that pulls the ABN from the company file would be suffice to add to the report template.
Please see attached an example on the footer of a report page.

AU Tax - Rental schedules with comparatives on the same report
I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

Workpapers - Ability to delete duplicate clients from the organisation list
When creating a new workpaper pack, clients appearing under the Organisation dropdown is taken from XPM (as a one-way sync).
It isn't possible to delete duplicate clients in Workpapers, even once they've been removed from XPM and the information has been synced again.
The downside is that the Permanent workpaper isn't brought forward from LY and there's no sync to XPM (as it's connected to the true client record).
The workaround is to edit the client name in the Settings (by putting a DNU or ZZ in the name), save it, then delete that Workpaper.
It would be preferable to…
3 votesHi Anthony, thanks for submitting this detailed idea for improving Xero Workpapers.
We can certainly see how having duplicate clients appear in the organisation list would be frustrating, especially when it prevents permanent files from being brought forward correctly. Your suggestion to have a two-way sync with XPM or the ability to directly archive or delete these duplicates makes a lot of sense.
We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you. We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members.

Xero HQ | Relationships - Improve Date selection
It would be good if you could scroll up past 2015 when adding a date on the relationships tab. Rather than having to press it, then reopen it to open up the next bit.
2 votesHi Francisca, thanks so much for submitting this idea — we really appreciate your feedback!
We understand how much smoother data entry would be with a more user-friendly date picker when entering historical dates in the Relationships tab in Xero HQ. Being able to quickly scroll or jump through years would save you time and make the process much easier.
Right now, the date picker requires multiple clicks to go back several years, which can slow things down. Your suggestion for an improved, intuitive date selector would make a big difference to your workflow.
This idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage. If this feature would help you, please consider voting and sharing your thoughts . Your support really helps us prioritise it with the product team.

Practice Manager - Ability to add additional time entries to a draft bill
Create the ability to update time entries for draft bills.
We often have a manager draft the bill and between the bill being created and it being approved by a director, there is additional time added to the job. If there was an option to refresh the bill to include all time before approval, rather than having to delete the bill and start again, that would be amazing!2 votesHey Sarah, thanks for raising this Idea with us, we appreciate the time you've taken. As you know with the XPM invoices once they are created you are not able to edit or update them to included tasks/time that have been added after. This is to reduce any duplicate billing and other errors that may occur and for auditing purposes. We have reviewed the Idea and have moved this to not in Pipeline as there aren't any plans to make any changes in this process in the current roadmap.

Workpapers - Refined User Roles
The User access for Workpapers is very poor. I find that I need to give the Staff high access levels in order to allow them to create and complete workpapers. Rather than just having a very basic Standard and Admin level, the names and levels of access should reflect more the sort of work that staff will be involved in. For example, you don't need to be highly qualified to set up a set of working papers for a new year that you can then work on, so staff members should be held up by needing line managers to initial…
2 votesHi Rebecca, thank you for this valuable feedback on user access in Workpapers.
We can certainly see your point. The current 'Standard' and 'Admin' levels can be too broad, often requiring you to give staff higher access than necessary just to perform routine tasks like setting up a new workpaper file.
Your suggestion to introduce more refined user roles that better reflect the actual work your staff are involved in is a great solution to improve both workflow and security.
We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you. We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how more granular user roles could improve their practice's efficiency.🙂

Xero HQ - Copy all client tax details into their Xero organisation
Maybe I'm missing something (integration settings perhaps) but if I enter a personal tax client's details into Xero HQ, then only some of this pushes into Xero Blue and I have to re-enter certain details like client code, email address etc as well as new fields such as sales defaults. Similarly, not all of the data pushes into Xero PM and the UTR/NI number have to be entered again. Is it not possible to have a Xero HQ as the single point of entry which then updates all fields in Xero PM and Xero Blue?
3 votesAppreciate your feedback on how syncing more data between Xero HQ and your client organisations would be useful, Balley.
We'll continue to get an understanding of the interest for this here.
Just to note around your request for syncing data between Xero HQ and XPM - as you may have seen from recent news we are unifying the clients and staff experience across HQ and XPM in what will soon be Xero Partner Hub meaning all your client data will be synced and consistent. You can read more about this here.

AU Tax - ITR signatory for deceased or incapacitated individuals
Where the individual client title has been changed to "Executor for" or "Representative for" the declarations should also be updated with this information. Currently the declarations still just use the individual name, who may be deceased or unable to sign on their own behalf.

Practice manager - Only import invoices for existing clients
Xero's feature of importing invoices into XPM is great for clients. But there is no way currently to stop importing them for people who aren't clients. Currently - we sell digital products, which we need to keep invoices for. Every time a digital product is sold, it creates a new client in XPM. They aren't clients. There should be the option to only import if a client exists in XPM.
1 voteThanks for sharing your idea, Emma. This has been reviewed by our team and now open for other Xero members to upvote and support through the forums.
We'll get a sense of the number of practices that would also find this helpful, and share if there are any updates for this here.

UK Tax | Jobs - Automatically link tax return created from a job
When a tax return is created from a job you need to manually link this to the job once the tax obligation is created. It would be good if this automatically linked to the job like AU and NZ
2 votesHi team, we appreciate this idea being raised with us and would like to gauge interest from the community for auto linking a return that's created form a Job.
Please add your vote if this is something you'd like to see too!

Practice tools - Bulk bank feed refresh

Xero HQ - Show totals for client list in Client Insights
Client Insights is fantastic for showing client by client stats.
How about providing a TOTAL for the entire client list or filtered list, so that you can see how each client compares to the selected "community" of clients2 votesHi Steven, thanks so much for the kind words about Client Insights – it's great to hear you're finding it fantastic!
We've reviewed your suggestion to enhance it further by showing a total for the client list or a filtered group. We can see how this would provide valuable context, allowing you to easily benchmark how an individual client compares to the rest of the community.
Your idea is now ready to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how they would use this summary data for analysis and advising their own clients.

AU Tax - Consistent rollover of percentages in individual deductions
There is a difference in functionality between D5 and D8 in the AU individual tax return form. When deductions are entered in D5, the default deductible percentage is 100%, and whatever percentage is entered here (eg 40% phone) is rolled over when the tax return rolls over to the next year.
In D8, the default deductible percentage is 0% (inconsistent with D5, easy to miss when quickly completing a tax return, requires you to manually type '100%' every line item - why would you enter a 0% deduction?) and the manually entered percentage does not roll over to the next…
