  1. It would save so much time if we could prefill year into the job name when we create a new job, and client name into the description so that when the description prefills into the invoice it specifies the entity.

  2. Change reply to email address:
    Any user can send tax letters, but the reply to email address can be set as one specific email (much like in blue xero)

    For example:
    staff1@accountingfirm.co.nz sends provisional tax reminders to clients, but when clients receive the tax reminder email, the reply to address is admin@accountingfirm.co.nz

    This same feature is already available in Blue Xero when sending invoices

  3. Where $nil value invoices are pushed to our "Xero Export Failed" list, it would be great to be able to select all $nil balance invoices in the "Xero Export Failed" list, and "Write Off Balance" in bulk. Currently we need to go into each invoice, one at a time, and select "Write Off Balance"

  4. Calculated Opening Balance on partner accounts (bold line), plus OB for conversion year showing on a separate line. It would be practical to merge this two, but the calculated OB line can't be merged into a group. Instead opening balances prior conversion year must be entered in an unbalanced journal - looked up manual - ok, but just unusual and I have spent too much time on contacting Xero Support and finding this solution.
    Merging the two OB lines would be a much quicker way.

  5. Xero Tax currently allows adding notes only on the cover page (character limit of 140) and on D1 (motor vehicle expense).

    It would be great if we could add explanatory notes (and simple calculations) on each of the line items if need be. I moved from Sage Handisoft to Xero and can't comprehend why such a useful and simple feature is not there in Xero. It would reduce the burden of creating additional workpapers for simple returns and will be handy even for the complex ones.

  6. Just a simple one, but it has something I've spoken to many Xero account managers over the years.

    When preparing a tax return, you currently see an amount payable or amount refundable in text, and the dollar amount in bold black next to it.

    I feel that it would be a simple, yet positive change, to have the dollar value display in green when there is an amount refundable, or red when there is an amount payable.   8. It would be great if we could report on more fields in XPM - in this instance, who does an invoice in XPM. There is a history section in the invoice, but there is no way to add this data to a report. E.g. I am using a 'job report' that includes the 'Date Last Invoiced', and it would be great if we could also show 'who created the invoice' (and/or approved and exported). We have tried adding a custom field on the job to allocate the staff member, but as this is manual, it would be a lot easier…

  9. Is it possible to have the starred clients as feature in reports? If we export a client list, we can't see which clients are the 'starred' (main contact for the group in our case). It would be super handy when trying to get a list of our main contacts and easily remove the clients that aren't starred.

  10. Can we please have the budget listed on the invoicing page under a job when you produce a final invoice.

    Currently there is job, name and description listed on this page but not budget.

  11. Ability to add a default accountant's signature in the accountants' report. This would mean that the we do not have to sign each and every report before sending to client to approve and sign the balance sheet.

  12. We would like to upload our own Engagement/Disengagement Letters/Privacy Notice, etc into HQ, is this something that would be useful for other Accountants/Bookkeepers? Are there plans to be able to do this in the future?

  14. Some of the field labels in a report don't match the field in the profile, which can cause confusion, incorrect reports and more time spent on building reports than needed.

    For example, on a client profile, we have the 'Partner' and 'Manager', however, when trying to report on these fields, they are called 'Account Manager' and 'Job Manager'.

    It would make reporting easier if all labels/titles matched or at least referred to them, e.g. Account Manager (Partner).

  16. When the ATO rejects a submission (where the return does not need to be edited), we have to unlock the return. This removes it from the document pack, and the client gets notified.
    This a terrible customer experience, when we just need to relodge. Example being tax returns lodged on 15 May.

  17. Have a workpaper for motor vehicle private use adjustments with calculators for FBT, logbook, and mileage reimbursement. Be able to have more than one like the home office workpaper does. And have this roll forward like the home office one does so that you can see the method used by the client and the FBT/logbook values etc.

  18. It would be useful to have two dates for recurring jobs - one on which the recurring job is generated and a second date for when the work is to be started. We like to have all of our annual jobs generate on 1 April so we can easily see what work is outstanding for the year, received or not, but we obviously can't start everything in April. The planning aspects of XPM would be more useful if we could set the jobs to generate on 1 April then input a start date of when we are likely to start…

  19. Fixed Assets - Asset Serial Numbers Printing on Depr Schedule
    It would be helpful to have as a print option for the Depreciation Schedule the ability to print asset serial numbers. This is one of the few fields not current able to be selected.

    Application is transport Companies and Engineering Companies which have a high reliance on serial number identification.

  20. Would love to be able to re-arrange line items in Tax Returns as we have everything listed in alphabetical order. In HandiSoft, we could click and drag lines.

    Example situation:

    Shares in 2020
    BOQ
    CBA
    WBC

    Shares in 2021
    ANZ
    BOQ
    CBA
    WBC

    To add in ANZ, we need to delete BOQ, CBA and WBC, add in ANZ and then re-add BOQ, CBA and WBC. Very time consuming if there are multiple lines to add.
