  1. Automatic BADR lifetime allowance £1m application.

    At present for a gain of over £1m you need to enter two transactions, one with a £1m gain to apply BADR, and the remainder to be charged at 20% (24/25).

    It would be much better if the system knew the lifetime allowance and applied it only up to the limit.

    At present if you put the whole transaction to BADR it will apply 10% to more than £1m which is incorrect.

  2. XPM shows your currently assigned jobs on the left, separated and grouped into the status of the job. This functionality is currently lost in the Partner Hub beta. It would be great to be able to "group by" status, in the jobs widget so provide some separation between different status jobs.

    Would also be ideal to be able to "filter by" in a similar fashion, only showing jobs with a certain status for example.

    Even better would be the ability to have multiple Jobs widgets - for example I would want a widget where that only shows jobs where I'm…

  3. Add functionality to merge client accounts used to access previously signed returns (via portal.xero.com). This would ensure that when a client updates their email address, their full record of signed tax returns remains intact and accessible through a single login with the new email. This eliminates the need to log in with multiple accounts to view the complete history of signed returns.

  5. Low Value Pool:

    Xero has locked the entry of low value figures taken from Quantity Surveyors Report for rental properties in tax - item D6 and insists on creating low value pool schedule by entering the asset.
    Per advice I received from specialist, I entered the figures and date from the beginning of low value pool e.g. 01/07/2019 with starting amount of $431.00. The following errors and issues come up:
    1. The calculated amount was $162 which was claimed five years ago
    2. On validation Xero gives error and asks for a date in current year i.e. between 01/07/2024 to…

It is recommended that for assets purchased in the current year, enter the date they were first used; otherwise, leave that field blank. Also, note that the Xero Tax Low Value Pool is not a comprehensive asset register and therefore does not record the original purchase cost. We've added this idea to Gaining support and it is up to the community to get behind it and support it.

  6. Under XPM, ability to track what time staff last log in, which companies Xero, what activities (reconciliation/bills to pay) etc..

    To track staff work live and have this track time in Xero for each company on top of the staff entry time per job (as this will include non Xero hours) for cross checking and reference

  7. Hi Xero Support,
    I run a lunch club where members prepay in January for a bundle of 10 lunches for the year. Each lunch costs £27.
    The key point is that:
    Members are only charged a lunch when they actually attend
    If they do not attend a particular lunch, no deduction is made
    Unused lunches roll forward to the following year, or are offset against the next year’s invoice
    We invoice and take payment correctly in Xero in January for the full year ahead, but we then need to track usage of those prepaid lunches over time.

  8. Currently Xero only allows you to prepare Corporation Tax returns for the current and previous period. Sometimes you will need to amend an earlier period's return, or create a return for a period that was missed previously for some reason.

    These can't be filed online, and would need to go via post, but it would be great to be able to populate them within Xero rather than require handwriting them onto a print out and potentially transposing figures incorrectly.

  9. I've just spent too long going through the client record fields to figure out that the reason that the record wouldn't save was a duplicate client code. Before the update, XPM would pop up with something like "client code already in use" or "TFN not valid". Now, there's no message at all. Please restore the error messages!

    Further, please restore the ability to update related client addresses all at once.

  10. It would be beneficial for the Bank Reconciliation Status to return positive insights as well. I have attached a rough adjustment for the 'Up to date' flag, and I feel the slight CSS value adjustment here makes it more visible that the Bank Reconciliation is in fact up to date.

  11. In the Client's address section, state is currently called "Region". I would suggest that the title of this field be changed to State. Also, it allowed me to type in Victoria in the field which created problems when I validated the individual tax return. The field should only allow users to type in a response that is allowed. e.g. VIC and not Victoria

  12. Want to be able to post money received overpayment's to accounts payable.

    At the moment, if a supplier sends back money and we don't yet have the paperwork, to clear the bank rec we need to add as an overpayment (tight closing dates) However, as its money received it automatically gets posted to the sales ledger. It would be good to have the option to post to the payables ledger so this can be allocated here

  13. Hi Xero Team,

    We need a new customer statement format that functions as a "traditional" detailed ledger.

    The Problem: The current "Activity Statement" is focused on allocations. It shows which invoices are paid or unpaid and portion of payments made to the invoice, but it does not show the payment transactions themselves as separate line items.

    For example, if a customer makes one large payment of R5,000 to clear three invoices, the current statement splits this payment up as their parts to the invoice. The customer cannot see their R5,000 payment listed as a single transaction. This is confusing for…

    Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing this idea with us. We can see why this would be helpful for some users. Currently, Xero offers the Customer Invoice Activity and the Contacts "Activity statement" . While this information is available on the account transaction report, it is not available in a Statement format. We've moved this idea to Gaining support so that other users who want this idea implemented can vote for it as well. You may share this idea with your colleagues to get more traction!

  14. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

  15. It would be good to have more control of the error messages, and ability to dismiss these for specific clients. This would reduce noise for clients that you do not do VAT for.

  16. When reviewing WIP for a client you can't see the title of each job without clicking in to it. Could we please make the job column wider so we can see what the job is without opening it.

    We're working on modernising the client record user interface(UI) and your idea here is being worked into this change.

    We'll first be making this available to our UK practices, with the aim of eventually expanding this to all regions. I'll be back to confirm as this starts to roll and give more detail of the change.

  17. When XPM search finds a client, you can click the arrow > to the right of a result to view the client's name, basic contact details, enter time, etc. For clients that have a linked Xero file, it would be great to be able to click "Go to Xero" from here as well.

  18. When preparing 2025 financial statements in Xero, will Xero be implementing a system to allow for varying tax rates for Trust's?

    For example, 2024 Trustee tax rate at 33%, however the 2025 Trustee tax rate may be 39% or 33% depending on the Trustee Income, and if it is under $10,000.

    It would be great if Xero were to implement a system to allow for this.Otherwise, a manual work around will be required, which could create human error.

    I'm sure all tax practitioners across the country are hoping for an update from Xero.

  20. The option to filter the reports by tax returns that have been lodged as Final in a certain tax year would be beneficial.
    We could then cross check and archive clients as necessary.
    There are so many fields to choose from in the Fields and Criteria, but this is not one of them.
    It would save us from having to keep a manual list as some can get missed this way.

    We're grateful for your engagement and for this very specific and useful suggestion for reporting in Xero Practice Manager.

    We've reviewed your idea to be able to filter reports by tax returns that have been lodged as 'Final' for a specific year, and it's now open to gain support from other community members. We can definitely see how this filter would streamline end-of-year processes and remove the need to keep manual lists for cross-checking and archiving clients.
