  1. Currently hubdoc suggests that a document is a Credit Note and to check before proceeding. Can this be the same when a document has Statement written on it. I find that statements are often processed as invoices causing duplicate payments within Xero

    It's great to hear you find the Credit Note detection useful, and can understand why you'd like to see this for bank statements as well.

  2. Configure Publish As options to exclude some options.
    We never post Sales Invoices, but sometimes supplier invoices are incorrectly publish as Invoice(AR).
    This is lengthy to undo.
    I would like to configure HubDoc to exclude the Invoice(AR) option

  3. Instead of manually adding/removing email addresses when sending invoices via Xero, being able to select a contact group to send them to.

    For example, for one of my clients, when I send an invoice from Xero I need to CC 5 different internal people and would rather be able to select a group instead of entering them individually.

    Being able to select a group would be less time consuming for us, and look less clunky for their customer.

  4. Add Contact Name to History and Notes Report - we use this report for bank account changes audit purposes. It would be great to have a column with the contact name to assist with this audit process. Currently we need to click into each contact to find the name.

  6. I would like a field in Hubdoc to enter the supplier ABN number, that would then pull through to the ABN Field in the Contact in Xero please. This will be a huge help when bulk reviewing ABNs and GST Registration status. If the field could be clearly seen when processing documents it would be helpful so we can just double check against the document when processing.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for this fantastic suggestion. We can definitely see how an ABN field in Hubdoc that syncs to Xero would be a huge help.

    Having that ABN visible while processing documents would make it much easier for accountants and bookkeepers to confirm supplier details and apply the correct GST.

    The next step is to gather more community support! If you know any colleagues who would also benefit from this, please encourage them to add their vote. We'd love for them to share their own experiences in the comments, as hearing how this feature would improve different workflows is incredibly valuable.

  7. Supplier/Purchase defaults should allow a default description.

    I have to copy and paste the same item into multiple bills and line items. Xero automatically grabs the dates, contact, and reference, allows defaults on tax but for some reason ignores the description field.

    Please add this small feature that would save hours of manual inputs.

    Appreciate you sharing with us here, Rory. It'll be good to get a sense from your idea others in our community would also find setting a default description useful.

    This isn't something we have any plans of at present but will keep a track on the interest this builds here.

    In terms of existing functionality - if not already you may find creating untracked Inventory items helpful where you could add a default description for the item that you can select when creating invoices/bills for your contacts. You can set a separate description for Sales versus Purchases.

  8. When entering a invoice create an alert if a new contact is being in created, in case it is an error. It is too easy to make a typo without noticing and Xero will just make a new contact as default even though it's not needed.

In Xero, under All contacts, would be great if we & please add had more columns or choices to add certain column of attributes of the contact showing if they are in a group, and possibly a last action date of last transaction, so that any can be easily Archived, when they haven't been accessed in a long while. Thanks!

  11. The new files is incredibly fiddly! Previously I had my uploaded files in years and if I hadn't filed them into years yet they remained in the inbox until I dealt with them. Now everything is archived I have no idea what isn't in a folder and what is just sitting in archived. And when I view a document just sitting in archived i have no way of knowing if it is in a folder or what folder it is in.

    Am I doing something wrong??

  12. Subfolders - It would be great if there was the ability to create subfolders in Files. For example to enable filing by financial year/month etc. As it is combing through an incredible amount of documents to find something is very time consuming.

  14. Can we please add some kind of sort or filter option to the History and notes section of a contact. Every time a statement etc is emailed it creates a history line which is absolutely fine, however when you add your own notes to a client (eg we advise them when there is a price increase to their subscription, we make a note on their file) it gets lost in all the history transactions listed of statements sent, so to be able to sort between what a system record created by xero is versus an actual note entry that I…

  15. Stop dating in 1900s.
    Today I typed in the date 5/3/25. Click on the little calendar that appears, the month says March 25. Click on 5 March 25.

    Hubdoc interprets this as the year 1925.

    I dont think there are many people entering receipts from 100 years ago.
    Please remove those last century calendars from Hubdoc.

    While you fix that, since the Hubdoc file is linked to a Xero file can you also stop hubdoc processing into a closed year. It warns you AFTER it's been sent to Xero, then doesn't let you correct it because of the status -…

    It's best if an idea is specific to one feature request so that others know what they're voting for and to help product better understand the interest for a feature.

    We have a separate idea around the lock dates that I've just added your vote for across here. We don't have any plans for this but if any are made I'll let you know, there.

  16. Please consider adding compatibility to preview .eml files (and .msg files if possible) that are attached to invoices (and other documents) in Xero, similar to the pdf preview window.

    Emails are text/HTML so this seems achievable.

    This would save time needing to download correspondences to view them, which are useful attachments in Xero for audit purposes.

    It’s great to see ideas around attachment previews, especially how support for .eml and .msg files could make audit workflows smoother.

  17. Hubdoc. Options to post to Xero are Purchase, Spend money, Invoice (AP) and credit note.
    Can we have a received money option as well please so that I can enter say bar takings from an end of day till report straight to the Tills cash reconciliation report.?

    Hi team, we appreciate the interest from you all in this idea and sharing how this feature would be beneficial to your processes.

    Being upfront the position of this idea has not changed since our update last year and we want to be honest that there are no plans to develop the ability to post receive money transactions in Xero from Hubdoc.

  18. The easiest way to save a document to the Files Inbox is to share it from the device file manager or gallery. However, if an image has been rotated to landscape (e.g. because the image was originally the wrong orientation), saving the image to Files Inbox this way removes the rotation. The Xero Accounting app should preserve the rotation when uploading.

  19. The Contacts listing in Xero shows amount owing on left and amount receivable on right, it would be more 'readable' to accountants if it were the other way around:

    They Owe - left side / debit / current asset
    You Owe - right side / credit / current liability

    Thanks for sharing your idea about how you'd like the "You Owe" and "They Owe" columns to be the other way around.

    It's worth noting that the current orientation matches the Spent/Received columns in the Reconcile tab of the bank account. You might like to raise a separate product idea if you'd also like a similar change there (or maybe an option to swap the columns around).

  20. In nearly every other business program, a Contact refers to a person and not the business name. The person should be the primary entry entered for contact information, and the business name is an attribute to that person, not the person an attribute to the business as it is currently set up in Xero. We often have to change the specific person (or entity like Accounts Payable) who a quote or invoice or other document needs to go to, and the only way to do that currently is to change the primary person under the business name each time we…
