Address
Moving or reducing size of the add address screen so you don't have to scroll down to select add. For ease of use, at 100% zoom it should all be visibleor action button to the top

Bills - bills created from uploaded files should apply contact defaults
Allow bills created from the files inbox to use a default VAT rate which could be set in the supplier record, this will massivley speed review of these bill, or where the category is picked up by Xero, use the default VAT rate for that category.
At the moment it takes longer to process bills through the inbox, than the old way as draft bills, although more information is recorded, I'm not sure of the benefit of a slower process
1 voteHi Keith, thanks for sharing your feedback. We can understand why you'd like contact defaults to automatically apply when creating bills from uploaded files.
At the moment, bills created from uploaded files don't automatically inherit all of the defaults saved against a contact. This means there can be some additional review and manual coding required before the bill is approved.
For now, you'll still be able to apply these details manually when reviewing the bill, and some customers may find tools like Hubdoc helpful for streamlining parts of their document processing workflow.

Contact - Improve the Contact Activity layout
I don't understand why the tiny "Invoices owed to you >" box takes up the entire left column of the screen, which then means the Invoices list isn't full width.
Surely the tiny overview box could be combined into the section with the graph and allow us to view a full width invoices list for a contact?

The idea is to expand the contact's invoice list table in the Contact Activity screen to improve visibility and access to the information you need without navigating elsewhere.

Contacts - Changing Primary Contact without copy pasting
We are looking for a more streamlined way to change the Primary Contact person in Xero without having to manually copy and paste information.
Currently, there isn't a direct method to promote an additional person to the Primary person role. To change the Primary Contact, you need to manually update the Primary person field with the details of the person you want to make primary.
Having a feature that allows you to select an existing additional contact and promote them to Primary Contact would make contact administration much easier and more efficient.

Contacts - Search contact by identifier
Within contacts, we are unable to search by the identifer code that gets create and is displayed on the contact. See image, where it has the APP, in the search bar in contacts, if I use those 3 letters it comes up, cannot find. Why is this identifier there if you cant use it?

Contacts | Files - Change the location of View button
Under Customers Accounts, File Attachments - Move the View button for the attachment to the LEFT side and keep the Delete button on the RIGHT side of the attachment. NOT next to each other.
Multiple times, we have accidentally deleted important files from the customer contact account.

Contacts - Set always on Auto Sales Tax at the contact level
I use Auto Tax. Be nice to go into contacts and select that as a default for contacts, where appropriate. Rather having to go to the drop down (in Invoices) each time.

Contacts - Supplier audit report add last active/used date
Can we please have an option to run a report for contacts incl Suppliers for example, where we can then audit new suppliers for a time period. Links into other ideas posted here to also see last active/used date. Similiar to the account transaction reports but to be able to run one for Contacts/suppliers would be super helpful for audits. Currently xero does not support any such thing, only the history & notes which is basically useless as it does not have the capacity to show or export more than 1000 entries, so when we do more than that in…

AU Tax - Include client phone and mobile number fields as columns in reports
Need to identify clients where the Phone/Mobile field has been populated. Currently reporting and exporting options do not separate the populated Client Phone field into Phone/Mobile etc. There is a compatibility issue with ATO SmartDocs not picking up the mobile phone number if it is in the Client's Phone/Mobile field. We need to move these to Phone/Phone field to fix the issue, but currently there is no way XPM can provide a list or report showing clients where their Phone/Mobile field has been populated.

The suggestion here is to add client phone and mobile number fields as separate columns in tax reports, so you can quickly access contact details without switching between screens.
For now, you can use the Contacts list alongside your report or export your data if you need to combine client details. While this doesn’t provide the same in-report view, it can help streamline your process.

Contact - Ability to select email group when sending invoices/statements
Instead of manually adding/removing email addresses when sending invoices via Xero, being able to select a contact group to send them to.
For example, for one of my clients, when I send an invoice from Xero I need to CC 5 different internal people and would rather be able to select a group instead of entering them individually.
Being able to select a group would be less time consuming for us, and look less clunky for their customer.

The suggestion is to allow users to select contact groups directly when sending invoices or statements, instead of manually adding individual recipients each time.

Contacts - Enter default descriptions for Sales/Purchases
Supplier/Purchase defaults should allow a default description.
I have to copy and paste the same item into multiple bills and line items. Xero automatically grabs the dates, contact, and reference, allows defaults on tax but for some reason ignores the description field.
Please add this small feature that would save hours of manual inputs.

This isn't something we have any plans of at present but will keep a track on the interest this builds here.
In terms of existing functionality - if not already you may find creating untracked Inventory items helpful where you could add a default description for the item that you can select when creating invoices/bills for your contacts. You can set a separate description for Sales versus Purchases.

Contacts - Add photo to customer profile
Add a photo to a customer file.
The companies I work for have over 100 tenants.
It would be great to be able to add a photo of the tenant for recognition purposes.It will make phone and email queries easier.
The photo can then be displayed next to the customer's name

History and Notes - Contact History & Notes Add filter and sort to differentiate xero system additions to our own notes
Can we please add some kind of sort or filter option to the History and notes section of a contact. Every time a statement etc is emailed it creates a history line which is absolutely fine, however when you add your own notes to a client (eg we advise them when there is a price increase to their subscription, we make a note on their file) it gets lost in all the history transactions listed of statements sent, so to be able to sort between what a system record created by xero is versus an actual note entry that I…

Contacts - Ability to select a person instead of company name for all instances of use
In nearly every other business program, a Contact refers to a person and not the business name. The person should be the primary entry entered for contact information, and the business name is an attribute to that person, not the person an attribute to the business as it is currently set up in Xero. Contacts - An additional column to show planned date after invoice date and due date
add to show the planned date for payment on the contact page where you can see all the bills as an option for the columns. so we can see if we have set up payment for each of the bills in the contact page for each contact/supplier.
