Reporting - Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts
Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts, perhaps with a tick box to show or hide the archived accounts. It makes the job of customising layouts so tedious when the old messy chart of accounts come up every time and you can’t hide the archived accounts!

I agree. This is very time consuming when customising report layouts. It would also be great to see the $ values of accounts when customising reports

I completely agree. It can be a very tedious and time consuming process when old messy charts of account which have been imported from old accounting systems (and now archived in Xero) appear each time we want to customise report layouts (both advisor reports and general user reports). It would also be very useful to be able to see the current $$ values of accounts when customising reports

This seems like a simple change for great benefit. Totally echo the below thoughts of others.

I agree with this and would suggest that if an account is archived Xero should not show these accounts when customising report layouts. It is time consuming especially on client files that have complicated COA's. I think that once an account has been archived, the only area that you should be able to access them is in the COA function and not have them appear when you are selecting accounts in custom layouts or at any other time.

Agreed. It's a tedious and time consuming process when old, messy charts of account which have been imported from old accounting systems, and are then archived in Xero, appear each time we want to customise report layouts. It would also be very useful to be able to see the current $$ values of accounts when customising reports. I would assume that the point of an archive is that you no longer see what you have archived, if you can still see it, the archiving process is pointless

Yes, so totally defeats the purpose of having an archive. Default position should be to not include

We should at least have the option to exclude them. There are accounts that have been archived for 8 or so years but they can’t be excluded. Makes budgeting that more challenging!

The default should be to NOT show archived accounts. They are archived for a reason. It is annoying to have to untick this box everytime.

When editing report layouts it would be great to EXCLUDE archived accounts.
Accounts that have been closed for years are getting in the way of what should be quick easy changes. -

The default should be that archived accounts don't show.
