Include tax dates as reporting date option
When running reports, for the date range within the drop down, have 'last tax year' and 'this tax year' as options. Similar to the this and last financial year.
Makes running reports for dividends, trivial benefits, payroll etc, much faster and better flow of information for accountants and clients.
Should be a simple task for xero and will have a positive impact on all users.
Hi Everyone, thanks for supporting this idea. It sounds like you're referring to how you can apply a date ranges to reports?
Most reports in the UK version of Xero already allow you to set a range from the drop down, such as last/this month, last/this quarter, last/this financial year.
Is there a specific report where you're not seeing this option?

I liked reading about the idea of including tax dates as a reporting date option because it’s a really practical improvement for accounting and reporting systems. Having tax deadlines directly integrated into reporting views makes it much easier for businesses to stay compliant and avoid last-minute stress, especially when managing multiple fiscal schedules or jurisdictions. It also improves planning because users can align financial reports with actual tax obligations instead of switching between separate calendars or tools. It reminded me a bit of PlayPelis APK in the sense that both are about simplifying user experience—just like users prefer quick, organized access to content, businesses prefer clean, centralized access to important reporting timelines. I personally think small UX additions like this can make a big difference in productivity over time. Do you think most companies currently struggle more with tracking deadlines or actually preparing the reports on time? https://playpelis.com.mx/

That’s actually a really practical suggestion—adding tax dates as a reporting date option would make financial tracking much more aligned with real-world compliance and filing needs, especially for businesses that don’t strictly follow calendar periods. I’ve seen how frustrating it can be when reports don’t match tax timelines, forcing manual adjustments that waste time and increase the risk of errors. Giving users that flexibility would make the system feel much more complete and user-focused. It kind of reminds me of the DQ Blizzard Menu—having more options to tailor the experience makes it far more useful instead of forcing everyone into the same default setup. Do you think this is something the platform is already considering, or has it been overlooked so far? https://dqblizzardmenu.com/
