AU Tax - Integrate live ATO client account balances to generate a consolidated 'Total ATO Debt' report
The ATO are pushing hard to collect debt, and as Accountants we want to keep a finger on the pulse of amounts owing to the ATO for our clients.
At this point in time, i am not aware of a report we can generate through the ATO portal which tells us ALL the debt which is owed by our clients, across all their accounts, Tax, GST, Super etc.
Yes there is an integrated debt report we can run, but it only shows the ICA debt. By accident if someone has an ICA debt and a tax debt both will appear on the report. But if they only have a tax debt, there is no way to see it short of logging into every client manually and looking.
My suggestion is, we have a report in Xero which extracts all the balances of clients ATO accounts.
This will be a great help to us, for helping clients be aware of and manage their ATO payments.
The ATO will also love it because in some way we are also helping them too, by keeping our clients on track with their payments.
