Budgets - Increase Budget Import CSV Line Limit
Please increase the limit of lines allowed in the budget manager import from 500. This is to save time from splitting the budget uploads into smaller files.

Budget Manager - Extend Budget Manager view to show all 12 months on a single screen
Extend the screen on budget manager to see all 12 months including the total. It is time consuming to scroll down and across when checking totals.

Dashboard - Add widget to track actuals vs budgets
When we're looking at Xero analytics page, we would like to be able to clearly track our income against our budget.

BANK FEED ON DEMAND USING OPEN BANKING API
Create relevant pull program that will reach out from XERO execute the NZ bank feed. Meaning a bank feed on demand, rather than at scheduled times. So using the open banking API's that already exist in the NZ banking environment, send a call from XERO to execute the Bank outbound API with the relevant bank feed data, and pull into the XERO inbound API. Then the bank reconciliations in XERO can be then be done on demand as required,

Budget Manager - Compare actuals for 9 months
Budget manager currently only allows you to include actuals for 3m, 6m and 12m. Most businesses do quarterly forecasts and hence also need 9m....why isn't this included as a default option ?? It should be...please !

Budget - Select multiple tracking options when creating budget
Selecting Multiple tracking Categories in one Budget
I work in an NPO and we have a very complex system, we have 4 departments and in our department we work on many different projects which run over different year periods. we also have donors that donate to more than one project with donations overlapping financial year periods.
we have created two tracking categories, Projects and Donors. Under each category there is multiple options, For example Marketing team - school project and marketing team University project.
We would please like to be able to 1 create budget for each department by selecting…
10 votesHi team, if I understand correctly it sounds like you'd like to create a Budget that consists of multiple options within a single tracking category? Atm, it is only possible to create a filtered budget by one option within each tracking category.
It's not something we have plans for atm, however I'll slightly rename your idea here and we'll get a sense of the interest from the community in this.

Budget manager - Archive tracking budget if tracking is archived
Budget Manager - Ability to Archive old budgets that relate to archived tracking categories.
At present the budgets still appear within budget manager even though linked to an archived tracking category. It would be great that when you archive a tracking category that the budget is archived along with it or just the ability to archive old budgets in budget manager. Overall budget report - add annual (and quarterly) total column
In the overall budget report, add column for annual total.
Add additional option to include quarterly or triannual sub-total columns.12 votesHi team, to get a better understanding of exactly where you're wanting to see these columns can I confirm - would it be the Budget Summary report you're wanting to see this?
If so, right you could adjust the period option to 12 months for an annual view or 3 months for a quarterly view.

Budget Reports - Ability hide selected accounts
The ability to remove the nominal accounts from a budget or show only selection of nominal accounts on a budget report. This would be useful so we can send budget owners a reports which shows only the budget lines that they are interested in and keeps actuals and forecasts in other nominal codes confidential.

Budget Manager - Ability to add Notes
I really need to add notes to the Budget Manager fields to explain (as much to aid my own memory as anything) how I calculated the amounts in each line for each month. This will be helpful when the budget is interrogated at Board meetings and I can easily reference what was included in the expected income or expenditure figures for a month. Xero has this facility in other financial reports, but it is desperately needed in budget manager.

Short term cashflow to integrate with budget
It would be helpful if the short-term cash flow could be integrated with the budget. Since we operate on 30-day end-of-month payment terms, the cash flow is often inaccurate. The sales figures are the primary element we would like reading from the budget.

80 votesHi everyone, we’ve been tracking this conversation and appreciate the insights you’ve shared around budgeting. We get how being able to sort budgets by General Ledger account number could streamline your workflow and help reflect the structure of your reports.
Currently, as you may know you can export budgets to a spreadsheet, and sort them outside Xero. But, we understand you'd prefer a solution directly in Xero.
We want to be transparent; this isn't currently in our roadmap. As we continue to monitor this space, we’ll update you here if anything changes.

Budget - Enter budget as a yearly option
Quickbooks allows this: and 501c6 and 501c3 find this EXTREMELY useful. We don't budget by the month per se; we budget yearly.

I'm setting up a budget in Budget manager. Is it possible to budget that one expense line is a percent of another - eg Superannuation is 11.5% of wages payable?
