  1. Please create a customer list report with options to list the fields in the contact details. The export sucks because one cannot filter it or choose the fields to export.

    Hi Ian, thanks for bringing our attention to this. We can see how having account codes displayed in their own column, rather than combined with the account name, could make reporting easier to read and work with.

    At the moment, account codes and names are shown together when the option is enabled in reports, and can be split manually after export if needed for further analysis.

    I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If there are particular reports or workflows where separate columns would be most useful, we'd love to hear more about them.

  3. Currently, It prints TITLE, COMPANY, DATE/ PERIOD. Please can you add to DATE/ PERIOD 'as @ TIME OF PUBLISH'. This would solve issues where I am looking at two identical spreadsheets but am unable to tell which is up to date.

    Thanks for sharing this suggestion — we can see how adding “as at time of publish” to the DATE / PERIOD would make it much easier to tell which published spreadsheet is the most up to date when reports look otherwise identical.

    We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and feedback from our community.   4. For the report templates, would it be possible to include a tax computation as part of the Annual Financial Statements? This schedule would show the income tax calculation for the year as well as the resulting tax asset or liability at year-end.

  5. The current Tracking Summary Report is quite inflexible. I'm unable to filter by Account Code, edit the report layout, nor save as a custom report. It would be good if this report design could be refreshed to include these features, and to bring the report inline with the newer style reports.

  6. Xero has tracking categories for Profit & Loss reporting.
    Our single entity charity uses tracking categories to produce a profit and loss report by fund where the fund type is an option within a fund category.
    We need the same for the balance sheet to produce a balance sheet report by fund on an ongoing basis.
    For example, income and expenditure transactions on a bank account can be tracked, but not the bank account balance itself. Ditto for liability accounts etc.
    This would also need a tracking option/field on manual journals.

  7. In the financial reports, the Beneficiaries header shoudl be able to be updated automatically with the name of the beneficiary.

    Having Beneficiary 1 there and having to edit it each time a report is generated is a complete waste of time for something that should eb automated.

    Editing individual reports not only wastes time but also increases the risk of errors in spelling or having a standard naming process across a business.

    Have raised this with support and its not available. Seems like it would be a pretty simple fix and something that should have been a standard implementation.

  8. One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.

    It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…

  9. Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas

    1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
    2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
    3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers

    The idea is to provide additional formatting options and expanded formula capabilities, allowing users to build reports that better align with their reporting needs.

  10. Have the ability to have separate reports for codes and prices for Billing items that is under Purchases and not lumped in with the Sales codes.

    Not enough filter flexibilty within to see only those that you require to look at or amend without getting everything.

    Not all purchases for bills are sales items for invoicing

  11. For Company Accounts - the directors feed from Companies House and include the resignation date in the Company Information section of the accounts. However, the final report doesn't include the resignation date against the director. Whilst, there is obviously a work around to include the date as if it's part of the directors name, it relies on manual intervention and given the information is already there, it seems odd that it isn't automatic.

  12. Create a report that shows the Quotation number and the created date as well as the Invoice number and created date. I want to be able to see all the information so I can see the turn around time from when we started with the client to the time it took to invoice them. No report on Xero shows both lots of information on one report. Also no way to export different reports and then link each line with a unique factor to build the report.

    There should also be an option under build reports to pull from sources not…

  13. The Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement ("the directors have chosen to not file a copy of the company’s profit and loss account under section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006")appears on the Balance Sheet in the full accounts. This statement should only be in the abridged accounts for Companies House, The only workaround is to manually edit the pdf, which requires pdf software and takes time. This needs to be amended.

  14. Current Behaviour

    When using comparison periods in Xero financial reports (such as Profit & Loss), the report automatically displays periods in reverse chronological order (newest to oldest).

    Whilst users can manually reorder columns using the Edit Layout function, this change only applies to the specific report layout and does not dynamically adapt when different reporting periods are selected. As a result, users must manually rearrange the columns each time they run reports for different months, quarters, or years.

    Problem

    For businesses that regularly prepare management accounts, board packs, investor reporting, or trend analysis, reviewing financial performance from oldest to newest…

  15. Bank Reconciliation - With Separate Debit and Credit columns with their totals
    Currently both DR and CR amounts show in one column. Would love to see them in their own columns when reporting.

    Also, a larger description/reference area would be great.

  16. When filtering Account Transactions report by contact, show only contacts in the report, rather than all contacts.
    Would make conducting a review a lot easier - i.e. if you are reviewing one account in particular.

  17. The uncoded statement lines report is really helpful to send to clients to show what documents we are missing, but seems to lack the functionality of the other reports.

    On high volume clients with multiple bank accounts an un-grouped option would be useful. When client provides receipts in currency paid GBP it is more helpful to have the data sorted by date rather than by bank account.

    It would be good to have the date range shortcuts (eg "this month", "last month", "last quarter") on this report - the uncoded statement lines report only has the calendar date selection option.

  19. Two significant limitations with the Xero-Claude connector that make it difficult to use in practice:

    Single entity authentication only. Multi-entity businesses need to aggregate data across legal entities, but currently you have to stop the Claude session and reauthenticate for each entity. This rules out any scheduled or automated processes, which largely negates the value of the integration - at that point it's quicker to download a Xero extract or use another tool like XO.

    No transaction-level data. Pulling GL balances is useful, but most reconciliations and business reports require underlying transaction detail. Since Claude can't pull this, you're already…

  20. Automatically include GST, PAYG and Super in the cashflow manager report. This would be quite easy an implementation, as all that needs to happen is the report pulls the BAS & Super payment settings (for the dates), and adds in the amounts to cashflow manager.
