Reporting - Profit and loss report to show transactions including and excluding GST
Can you raise an enhancement request for the P&L report to give 2 options- Includes GST and Excludes GST to give an option to the user(similar to the current option of Cash or Accrual)?
If a user selects "Includes GST ", a new line item gets added showing the GST account, else default option is "Excludes GST " meaning no change to the current report.7 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you Nelson!

Customer List
Please create a customer list report with options to list the fields in the contact details. The export sucks because one cannot filter it or choose the fields to export.
2 votesHi Suzette, are there any specific contact details that you would be looking to get in a report? If you can share a little more on your use case this will help when sharing back with our product teams. Thanks!

Reporting - Show date/time stamp when report was run in header of spreadsheet
Currently, It prints TITLE, COMPANY, DATE/ PERIOD. Please can you add to DATE/ PERIOD 'as @ TIME OF PUBLISH'. This would solve issues where I am looking at two identical spreadsheets but am unable to tell which is up to date.
9 votesThanks for sharing this suggestion — we can see how adding “as at time of publish” to the DATE / PERIOD would make it much easier to tell which published spreadsheet is the most up to date when reports look otherwise identical.
We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and feedback from our community. While we can’t make any promises about if or when this might be added, the support and examples shared here help our product team better understand the impact and usefulness of this change 💥

Reports - Show account codes in a different column from Account Name
Need to seperate the Account Code & Account Description/Name into different columns on reports
4 votesHi Ian, thanks for bringing our attention to this. We can see how having account codes displayed in their own column, rather than combined with the account name, could make reporting easier to read and work with.
At the moment, account codes and names are shown together when the option is enabled in reports, and can be split manually after export if needed for further analysis.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If there are particular reports or workflows where separate columns would be most useful, we'd love to hear more about them.

Transition period for non UK organisations - managed financial year end
Can the transition period for change in financial year date be added to companies that are non UK organisations as well. we have a group of companies that all extended their financial year but i have only been able to use the transition period in UK organisations. Why is this not an option in non UK organisations?
17 votesHi Claire, thanks for raising this. We appreciate you sharing the want of having the transition period feature across all the regions while it is only currently available for UK organisations. Your idea is now in Gaining support status, meaning our community team have reviewed it and it's open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage others who would benefit from this to add their votes and share their use cases to help us understand the broader need.

Reports | Payroll - Monthly breakdown option in reports
It would be great to have the option to present all reports in month-by-month format. It is possible with P&L and cash summary reports using the compare to function, but impossible for payroll reports. Thinking this could be really useful for STP finalisations and payroll reconciliations.
4 votesHi Jess, thanks for highlighting this improvement.
We can see how a monthly breakdown (or comparison) within payroll reports could make it easier to review trends, compare payroll costs across reporting periods, and support management reporting.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is a feature you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how a monthly breakdown would support your reporting workflow.

Navigation - Restore ability to favourite "report codes" in the reporting menu
One of the key steps in preparing client financials is to ensure accounts, especially newly added ones, are assigned to the correct report code. I had the favourited on every client in the old navigation for quick access as it's something I need almost every time. It'd like that back.
17 votesGreat to get your feedback here, Chris. It'll be good for us to get a sense of interest from others in community that also found this Favouriting of Advanced Account settings useful.
We're keeping a close eye on the interest and will share if there are any updates for you here.

Tracking Report (new) - Add a summary option
New Tracking Report has no summary option - the existing summary option will be retired in November meaning more work will be involved in manually working out the summary balance for each tracked item. Please give a summary option similar to "old" report that is being retired.
20 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback on the new Tracking Report. We appreciate you sharing how important summary and grouping functionality is for your workflows.

Reporting - Option to exclude Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement from full accounts Balance Sheet.
The Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement ("the directors have chosen to not file a copy of the company’s profit and loss account under section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006")appears on the Balance Sheet in the full accounts. This statement should only be in the abridged accounts for Companies House, The only workaround is to manually edit the pdf, which requires pdf software and takes time. This needs to be amended.
2 votesThanks for sharing your feedback, Keith. We appreciate how having the Section 444(5A) statement appear only where it's applicable could make reporting more accurate and reduce the need for manual adjustments.
We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community support and sharing your feedback with the team.

Account transactions report - Add a Reconciled column
When running the account transactions report, it would be nice to add a "reconciled" column when looking at bank accounts. This would make it much easier to identify which transaction is a duplicate or an error that has not already been matched. I know I could run the "Bank reconciliation" to view the unreconciled transactions, but with a client with high volume with integrations creating multiple invoices that are outstanding for a later deposit, this can be messy to review, and I would prefer just seeing everything in the account transaction report.
5 votesThanks for your feedback here, Amanda. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at present but will begin to track interest from your idea.
Good to hear you're aware of the current option available. If there are any plans around expanding the Account Transactions report to surface this information we'll be sure to let you know here.

Reporting - Excel export change behaviour of total row value where column formula used
If I have a report and a column is a formula.
When I export that report to excel, the column has the underlying formula in each cell.
The column even has that formula in a cell that is in a total row. This is okay if the formula is a percentage, but never if the formula is an amount.
A total row with an amount should always be the total of the cells above it. Never any other formula.
Other column types (such as date), do not suffer this issue, they will correctly insert a formula that sums the cells…
1 voteHi Sam, really appreciate you coming into our Xero Support team about this so we could get a closer look into the behaviour that you've mentioned.
I've re-opened this and slightly adjusted the title of your idea now that we have a clearer picture. Just to highlight for others coming across - currently when you export a report to Excel the formula in the column takes precedence over the total calculation.
There are no plans for changing this at this time, however we'd like to get a wider sense of thew interest through the idea here so that our product teams can consider this in future planning. Thank you

Report templates - Annual Financial Statements, include statutory Tax Computation Schedule
For the report templates, would it be possible to include a tax computation as part of the Annual Financial Statements? This schedule would show the income tax calculation for the year as well as the resulting tax asset or liability at year-end.

We've given it a look, and now it's time for the community to rally behind it! The more support it gets, the better. Make sure you pass this along to anyone you think would benefit so they can add their vote and share their thoughts on how this would improve their use of Xero.

Tracking Summary Report - Allow editing of report layout (e.g. filtering by account code)
The current Tracking Summary Report is quite inflexible. I'm unable to filter by Account Code, edit the report layout, nor save as a custom report. It would be good if this report design could be refreshed to include these features, and to bring the report inline with the newer style reports.

Reporting - Add auto-focus search bar to Reporting menu dropdown
One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.
It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…
14 votesThanks for sharing your idea of extending the search bar to Reporting Menu, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

Profit & Loss - Ability to delete line items when creating custom Profit and Loss reports
Hi, it would be amazing to have the ability to delete certain line items to create custom reports (eg - Profit and Loss). I currently need to export the full report into excel and manually delete the lines, but would be nice to have the option to do this in Xero custom reports
16 votesThanks for adding your feedback and votes to this idea. We understand the requests for the ability to delete line items from custom Profit & Loss reports, and we can see how this could help streamline reporting for some workflows.
The idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage, which means it’s open for the community to vote on and comment. These insights help our team gauge interest and guide future development priorities.
Feel free to keep sharing your thoughts or use cases to add more context.

Custom Reports - Allow richer layouts and formula outputs
Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas
1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers3 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback here. We understand why having more flexibility in custom report layouts and formulas could help create more tailored reporting outputs.
The idea is to provide additional formatting options and expanded formula capabilities, allowing users to build reports that better align with their reporting needs.
We’ll continue tracking engagement and feedback from the community here.

Company Accounts - Pulling resignation dates from Companies House
For Company Accounts - the directors feed from Companies House and include the resignation date in the Company Information section of the accounts. However, the final report doesn't include the resignation date against the director. Whilst, there is obviously a work around to include the date as if it's part of the directors name, it relies on manual intervention and given the information is already there, it seems odd that it isn't automatic.
2 votesThanks for taking the time to share this idea — we can see why this would be helpful.
We've now moved this idea to Gaining Support 🌟. This means we've recognised it as a valid feature request and we're now gathering feedback from customers to help us understand the level of demand and the impact it’s having.
We agree it would make sense for the resignation date to flow through automatically into the final report when that information is already available in the Company Information section.
At the moment, this isn’t done automatically, so the current workaround is to manually include the resignation date in the director details where needed for presentation in the final accounts.
If this is something you'd like to see improved, please add your vote and any extra detail about how it affects your workflow. That helps our product team better understand the demand and the use case.

Bank Reconciliation report - Show Separate Debit and Credit columns
Bank Reconciliation - With Separate Debit and Credit columns with their totals
Currently both DR and CR amounts show in one column. Would love to see them in their own columns when reporting. Also, a larger description/reference area would be great.
