  1. Restore function where the previously viewed transaction is highlighted in a darker or different colour so you know where you are on a list of transactions. It used to be there but it has now gone :(

  3. For bank accounts - it would be good to have the contact and description concatenated as for other accounts. This way account lines could easily be matched.

  4. Can the list of favourite reports be set to default to always include the Trial balance (at least with Advisor rights). As an accountant I always run a Trial balance report and have to manually set this as a favourite on every client I log into. I also regularly use the accountant transaction report and Aged payables and receivables which are already default favourites.

  5. The ability to create multiple custom budget reports which show budgets and transactions which can easily be emailed out to colleagues at the same time. This is useful if a Xero user has multiple budget holders to report to. This should be able to be emailed as both PDF and Excel.

  6. There are two concerns regarding XERO Blue Report extraction. One is to apply a page break after each ledger when extracting general ledger details while selecting all ledgers. The other is to extract the transaction list by edit period. This will be helpful in identifying differences between the same report taken for two different periods.

  7. Ability to select a default 'compare with'. I like to run a report for a period using 'compare with previous year'. It drives me crazy that every time I need to change the dates it defaults back to 'compare with period'.

  8. Being able to create consolidated accounts when you have a group of companies. Please develop this option as its very time consuming to consolidate via excel which is what we use at the moment for consolidated accounts for our group

  9. When editing reports we'll sometimes break formulas.

    In some cases, after fixing the formulas by:
    - Replacing broken elements so none are highlighted as red, or
    - Literally replacing every single formula
    We are still prevented from saving with the message "1 invalid formula. Please fix before switching or saving."

    This isn't a new idea but a request for the dev team to revisit the validation. It's pretty inconvenient to start over.

  10. Uncoded transaction report only allows you to pick all accounts or a single account in the filters.

    I have a client who has 10 accounts but only half of them are current and non personal accounts. I either have to run the report 5 times or have the report being 13 pages long.

    It would be good if we could select multiple accounts in the filters.

  11. When editing a report, please make it easier to add multiple rows or columns at once - either by allowing continuous clicking on the "add row/column" button, or by providing more options beyond a 5 x 5 when creating a table.

  12. Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas

    1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
    2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
    3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers

  13. I'm looking to get more information from this report. Essentially, I'd like to combine "Bank Reconciliation Summary" with "Bank Summary" or "Reconcile Period" where there is an opening balance, add deposits, less withdrawals to get the bank statement balance, then add outstanding deposits and less outstanding withdrawals to get the book balance (balance on trial balance). It should display the source (account) currency and local (reporting) currency (as the "Bank Reconciliation Summary" already does).

  14. Only show 'open items' on Balance sheet

    Have an ability to match items in a balance sheet account, so only the 'open amounts' (which make up the total) are visible eg for accruals - don't have to see all the old accruals, and the invoices that have cleared these out. Would be able to see summary of just the 'open amounts'

  15. When looking at the profit for the current year in a multi currency situation, Xero just uses the conversion date of the report for the lump sum of the year, rather than the exchange rate from each month and then adding them together. This means anyone who has been entering the info into a larger group on a month by month basis has to consistently make forex adjustments, even though they have used the Xero rates of exchange in all the prior months P&L's.

Instead of having 2 separate reports for Aged Payables and Receivables, there should just be one report for each, and a drop down/toggle to switch between the detailed report and the summary report. Not the biggest deal, but would make things a lot more fluid and easier. Could be replicated across other reports too to simplify the process, and make the "reports" section much tidier and easier to navigate.

    In the meantime, did you know that you will find the detail/summary version of the report listed in the Related reports section of the left hand panel when running a report?

  17. Team Xero
    currently TB report shows ending balances for current year in db/cr two columns AND in single column Clubbed up remaining balances +/- in when COMPANRED to previous periods.

    I propose/request IT to make TB more classic by

    1. showing ALL remaining balances in two columns DB/CR when comparing previous years
    2. OPENING and CLOSING balances columns to be available (year selected from starting of fiscal year Jan20xx)
    3. TB report to ALLOW us to SELECT RANGE of dates (Range based TB)
    4. MOVEMENT (total Debits Total Credits) for the selected DATE and/OR RANGE should be available. CURRENTLY this is available in GL…

    Hi Yaseen, thank you for this incredibly detailed and well-thought-out suggestion for the Trial Balance report.

    We can see how much manual work you're doing, combining exports from the GL Summary Report, just to create a "classic" comparative Trial Balance for your auditors. That's exactly the kind of difficult workflow we want to help improve.

    Your proposal to enhance the report with separate debit/credit columns for comparatives, clear opening/closing balances, and a movement column for a selected date range is very clear.

  19. Aged payable report - please add drop down in the filter - bank account number detail. This would be helpful to cross check bank accounts before getting to the 'create batch for payment' especially in schools where we have two people to authorise accounts.

  20. Rearrange the Reporting menu sections:
    Section 1: All Reports, Custom, Advisor, Drafts, Published, Archived
    Section 2: Favourites
    Section 3: Reporting Settings
    Then have a separate menu dropdown for Analytics - then move the current Analytics, Short-term cash flow + Business snapshot items onto the new menu
    Then within the All reports page, have a menu in the side panel to navigate to each reporting section (make all report sections visible in the pane) - e.g. payroll, tax, financial, etc. The whole page could do with a rework, the report grouping is a little cumbersome...please can Fixed Assets reporting have its…
