  2. Automatically include GST, PAYG and Super in the cashflow manager report. This would be quite easy an implementation, as all that needs to happen is the report pulls the BAS & Super payment settings (for the dates), and adds in the amounts to cashflow manager.

    We've reviewed your idea to show the Trial Balance by category and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

    In the meantime, did you know that you can group the Trial Balance by 'Account Class' or 'Account Type'? Whilst not the exact functionality requested, these options allow you to split the accounts up within the report.

    Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  4. It would be useful to be able to download the current periods VAT report, even when there is no connection to HMRC. This would be useful when the HMRC Gateway is down, or when waiting for an authority code from HMRC. This would allow reviewing the return while the HMRC Gateway is down and being able to carry out the Partial Exemption calculations when needed.

  5. If each report had the option to export the transactions used in the report, with the transactions showing all the data that was input, including tracking categories, the limitations of just about every report available would have a workaround.

    As it wouldn't be a report, but a data dump, it wouldn't need any formatting.

    This capability was just about the only thing that redeemed Sage 200 reporting.

  6. PLEASE DO NOT CLOSE THIS ONE JUST BECAUSE YOU MISUNDERSTAND
    Reports with custom periods currently have their dates 'shifted' every month or quarter (yes, they do, no matter what 'Xero support' say - unless that has been fixed, of course). This shouldn't happen, as they do not use relative dates (they should be fixed, at least by default). This is either a bug or bad design.

  7. Direct Profit and Loss Detail Report with Tax Columns (Match QuickBooks Functionality)

    1. The Feature We Need

    We need a dedicated Profit and Loss Detail report. This should be a single report that shows every transaction, grouped by account, including the Tax Rate and Tax Amount for every line. It should look and work exactly like the "Detail" report in QuickBooks Online.

    1. Why the current "Account Transactions" report is NOT helpful Xero often tells users to use the Account Transactions report as a workaround, but this is not a proper solution for these reasons:

  8. Can you please add a link the note that takes us back to the statement it relates to? i.e. when we click on the note number in the statement, it takes us to the note. Can we get the reverse done too? Then we can more easily check that the note reconciles with the statement figure.

  9. From the P&L report when opening a specific income/expense account, the list of transactions under that account shows at the bottom "Showing items" number, this number includes the first line (title) and last two totals, which can be misleading if one wants to count the number of transactions.
    I'd suggest the "showing items" number to only indicate number of transactions.

  10. Would it be possible to have the current P&L have the option to be formatted better? As I need to separate P&L for different accounts that have been created on the COA (tracking is not an option).

    When I make a blank report, I want to merge and follow the same format as the standard P&L, when I make a custom one, it looks terrible lots of additional lines and the headlines are to the right while the sub headlines are to the left. When I want to add a formula, I cant fully separate this and causes confusion for…

  11. Add tab toggling over 2 windows so that one can make back-end amendments and go straight back to reviewing an accounting report.

    To supplement month-end/year-end review and sign offs, add a feature for Review Comments and Tracking.

  14. Include Invoice numbers for payable payments and receivable payments in reports.

    The information is available for payable invoices and receivable invoices but is missing for the payable payments and receivable payments. Reference information is carried through but not invoice number information.

    Hi team, appreciate coming into Xero Support after our recent update here and apologies for any confusion.

    To confirm, there is no way to add letters into 'Numbered heading' atm.

    An option for now may be to add letters to the front of your schedule heading, however appreciate this this is a little different from the formatting you're trying to achieve here.

    While this isn't something we have direct plans for right now, we'll start to get a sense of the wider interest from others in this here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

  16. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

    With the old style and the new style, there doesn't appear to be a way to show the journal with GST rate - it only shows the total GST as an extra line at the bottom of the journal.

    And while I'm requesting features that'll never be implemented, why not offer the ability to show journals Gross of GST (as well as the GST rate).

However, could you please provide some more clarity on what you mean by quoted hours by staff per task? Is this for a specific area like payroll or projects in Xero? Cheers

  19. It would be nice to be able to select "year to date" when choosing comparison periods of quarters or months on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements. Right now the only way to do so is to manually do the math on how many months back the fiscal year end began, which is especially inconvenient for entities with non-calendar year ends.

  20. Every new year tax year (1 April) the reports for the previous year that we are still using ie 31 March 2025 automatically change to the 31 March of the current year ie 31 March 2027 and the Last Financial year changes to 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
    In the drop down box for the Pack Date Range Custom would it be possible to add a Last financial year -1 so that it reads the date range for the previous year that we are still compiling for ie: Date range 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.

    Thanks for taking the time to explain how you’re using the Pack date range and why you’d like a “Last financial year -1” option. This isn’t something we’re actively working on right now, so we’re moving your idea to Gaining support. This lets other partners and small businesses add their vote and specific scenarios, which helps our product teams understand how many people are impacted and how this should be prioritised alongside other reporting work.

    In the meantime, the best available workaround is to set the prior year using a Custom date range and reuse that report pack where possible.
