Reports - Re-order columns and rows using cut & paste
Instead of dragging rows and columns (which takes forever when you have long reports), can you implement a cut and paste instead?
1 voteHey Rachael, we’ve updated this idea's status to Gaining Support. This feature could simplify customising reports by offering an alternative to drag-and-drop, saving time when working with larger reports.
If you’d like to see this improvement, please vote or comment to add your voice. Community feedback is essential for ongoing enhancements at Xero.

Reports | Budget Variance - Add line highlight
As someone who is colour blind, I find the Budget Variance Arrows are similar / same colour which makes viewing budget variance at a glance a challenge.
It would be great to have an option to have lines highlighted a colour if above/below budget instead. Even better if this colour option was customisable.

Report's - GST Audit report, option to print PDF version by Account number
When reviewing the GST Audit Report we are able to sort by account number, but when printing in PDF it reverts back to date sort order. Can we have an option to print to PDF in account code order.
107 votesHi everyone, as you may have seen in recent communications - We've rolled out a new and improved New Zealand GST experience.
While we've made many changes, we want to be open that transactions will only print in date order. This isn't something we have plans for changing in the near future and we'll move the idea to not planned. If our position of this changes at any point we'll be sure to update you of this here.

Reporting - Consistency in the default naming convention for dates
I know this is not critical for the reporting accuracy of Xero within, but it would be a great help to those who extract many times a report from Xero and have multiple clients handling. I hope Xero Support can find ways to be consistent in their naming convention by default. And not overriding names thru Report layouts. Thanks!
6 votesAppreciate sharing your thoughts on date conventions used across reports in Xero, Danmark. While there's standardisation across the way dates are shown across Xero, there can be slight differences based on region, as well as the period being reflected.
For example all regions excepting US will show date format as Date Month Year, where-as US will be formatted as Month Day, Year.
When Xero reports for a general period like an entire month or year this is abbreviated to the shortest date format that represents that period e.g June 2025 or 2025 respectively, however when running a report for a singular 'as at' date the entire date is shown such as 13 June 2025.
While I appreciate it doesn't mean a change to the formatting that you're requesting here, hopefully this sheds light on where date formatting may differ and gives more assurance that there's a structured approach to how…

Reporting - Sankey Diagrams
I would like to suggest adding the capability to generate Sankey diagrams within Xero. Sankey diagrams are highly effective in visualizing the flow of resources, such as money, energy, or data, through different stages or categories. They could be used to illustrate cash flow, revenue distribution, and expense breakdowns in a more intuitive and engaging way.
By adding Sankey diagrams, Xero could offer users a more dynamic and insightful view of their financial data, helping them better understand how money moves through their business, leading to improved decision-making and reporting.
6 votesInteresting idea and good to hear the different visualisations that'd help our customers understand their business, Paul. This isn't something we have immediate plans for but will be good to get a understanding of the interest from the community here.

Reports - "Find a Report" search (from 'Home' tab) returns results from all tabs
Quality of Life suggestion:
At present, typing in a report name into the "Find a Report" search-box will only give you a return if you're in the correct tab (eg. searching from the 'Home' tab will not return any 'Custom' or 'Drafts' reports).
I suggest that reports from other tabs be included, at least when searching from the 'Home' tab, with an icon/heading to distinguish the tab-origin of the report.
(I appreciate 'Published' and 'Archived' returns could run into the hundreds, so perhaps a toggle/filter would suffice to omit/include those returns as desired)
1 voteHi Jonathan, thanks for this fantastic 'quality of life' suggestion. We really appreciate you taking the time to detail not just the idea, but also how it could work in practice.
We've reviewed your proposal to enhance the "Find a Report" search box so it returns results from all tabs – like 'Custom' and 'Drafts' – not just the one you're currently viewing. We can see how this would make finding the right report much faster.
Your idea is now open for other members of the community to support and add their thoughts to. Along with votes, others can now comment on how a global search for reports, perhaps with the filters you suggested, would improve their own day-to-day workflow.

Reports - Option to export as CSV
Currently all reports can be Exported to PDF, Excel or Googlesheet. Please add an option to export to CSV. This file would not have report headings, just column headings.
When exported data is to be imported into another system it is time wasting to have to remove the heading lines and convert the file to csv.
Seeing that Xero requires all it's import files to be in csv, it's odd that this is not an option for the reporting side of things.7 votes -
Reporting - Update Custom reports for change in chart of accounts
When a custom P&L is created it does not update if there is any change in the chart of accounts. For example, if we move a nominal from the P&L to the BS it will still show in the P&L if the custom report was created before the move. This is a major flaw and when raised with Xero we are told to just re-do the custom reports, some of which take a long time to do.

Tracking Summary report - Add currency column
For the line items in the Tracking Summary, please include a currency column! Historically this was available. Calculating commission now takes WAY longer. Seems like it should be an easy fix.

Cash Summary Report - Include Primary Person
Cash Summary Report to include Primary Person Please.
Can you get a cash summary report to provide in order 3 items as per below
Invoice No ... Contact ...Primary person
I cant seem to find a report for all three .
We send 170 invoices out client who pay sometimes do not include invoice number and we have to track by firm name or contact which can vary also on bank receipt information.
e.g.
I need "Primary person" to help "match" an unidentied payment. so searching for "primary person" identifies the invoice number or the right contact.2 votes -
AU Tax - Schedule EFT reconciliation reports
Provide the ability to schedule requesting on a daily basis the EFT Reconciliation reports in XPM, currently being a manual request locked behind Business settings permissions.
Provide also the resulting reports in either a Custom Reports area or standard reports so admin staff without the Business Settings permissions can view the ATO EFT reconciliation reports, filtered by date and Tax Agent Number. Possibly add a permission to view these reports as a separate permission.11 votesThanks for supporting and sharing with us how scheduling of reports could enhance your workflow. While we don't have immediate plans for this feature, we have a pulse on the ideas for this in community here and will be sure to update if there's any change to automate these for you.

Report Navigation - Return to previous page after drilling down
When using any report, when drilling down into more detail is great BUT there seems no way of then returning to the original report without re-running it after you have finished reading the drilled down info? Or have I missed something.
3 votesWould be good to get an example of a specific report you're drilling into, Lyn. You should be able to click the back button on your browser to return to the previous page / report you're on.
Alternatively, right click and opening the drill down figure in another tab may also be useful here 🙂
