  2. We would like to automatically transfer daily sales data (excluding GST) from Xero into our custom system. However, the current sales reporting options in Xero do not allow us to select a “Today” filter.

    At present, we have to manually set the date each day to get the daily sales amount, which makes automation difficult and time-consuming.

    Idea / Request:
    Please add a “Today” filter option (similar to existing options like “This Month” or “Last Month”) so that businesses can easily pull daily sales data without manual date entry.

  3. Aged Receivables/Payables Summary report to include invoice numbers by default, which is commonly available in other accounting softwares. It is crucial to know the number of invoices and unique invoice reference number for ease of reference when reviewing ageing.

  4. There are a number of things bugging me regarding the essential task of reconciling bank accounts. The Bank Reconciliation Reports are easy enough to create, but after that it all goes wrong. Nobody seems to have thought about what happens to them after the 'Publish' button is pressed! Here's what I think - and please please please vote for this or nothing will change.

    1) I would like to see bank reconciliation reports having their own dedicated space. They are currently hidden away in Reports>Published, mixed up with all the other published reports. Please create a new Bank Reconciliation Reports…

  5. Leave transaction report - NZ. Could this be changed to select multiple employees & to change the format so that there is a column for employee as opposed to grouping by employee. This enables easier reconciling through Excel. The Australian Leave Transaction report is ideal - could NZ's be made the same or similar.

  6. Many of my clients are partnerships and trade using the partners initials e.g. J & J Doe but on their reports it displays as %26 and on emails that they are sending with sales invoices, it displays as "& amp;" meaning that when I save reports or they send their invoices, this has to be changed. Having worked in a software house previously, I know that this is a programming issue and one that should have a relatively simple fix so can you please look at this.

  7. Create a Receivable and/or Payable Credit Note Report which lists all credit notes issued/received, and the corresponding invoice they are linked to. This will help as when a credit note is issued the status is 'paid', however if I want to do a review of invoices and days until invoice is paid, I want to be able to exclude items that have been credit noted.

    For now, the closest thing we have is to use the Receivable/Payable Invoice Detail (or Summary) reports.

    You can use the Filter option on Source, to only show credit notes. However, the existing reports don't show the invoices/bills they're allocated to.

  8. When pulling a Contacts report (expense by vendor, cash payments made to vendors, etc) out of Xero, please add the ability to "turn on" more fields from Contacts. For 1099 purposes, it's crucial to see "business entity" selections and "DBA names" (IRS-registered business name) when preparing the 1099 report. I know you can see this info within the 1099 report, but looking at one contact at a time is not efficient.

  9. It would be really useful to see the contact name on the History and Notes report.
    We use this report to track bank account changes but we also check newly added supplier bank account details. Seeing which contact each line relates to would help us group them and know if an 'Edited - Bank.....' relates to the same contact as a 'Created' so we don't need to go into each line

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having more detail available in History and Notes reports could make it easier to review changes and track user activity.

    The suggestion is to add contact details within the History and Notes report to help users identify which customer, supplier, or record a change relates to without needing to click out of the report.

    We’ll continue tracking this idea here, where other users can share their feedback and examples to help shape future improvements.


  10. Dear Xero,

    Please!.. Ideally, accurate references on all source documents should be able to link them to their Payment transactions in Xero. However, it can be extremely difficult and time-consuming - especially with Spend/Receive Money transactions.

    It would be incredibly helpful for a column of 'Link ID's' to be displayed on all detailed reports.

    Doesn't need to be fancy, just a Unique ID.

    This link ID would need to be automatically generated by Xero, and, have the ability to change dynamically in the case a payment is removed (as one of many examples).

    Hi Callum, appreciate you highlighting how a unique payment reference field could support reconciliation workflows. Your suggestion about displaying Link IDs on detailed reports to track account movements is a valuable feedback.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage other members who would find this helpful to add their votes and share their experiences.

    In the meantime, a practical workaround is to use the “Reference” field consistently. When creating invoices, include a unique reference code for the payment (for example, PAY-1001), and when receiving payments, enter the same reference in the “Reference” field. This ensures that the data will appear in the Reference column in both the Receivable Invoice report and the Account Transactions report when run for the relevant bank account, making it easier to track and reconcile payments.

  11. The delivered response to my previous idea was no correct. The aged summary/detail reports only show what is outstanding.
    The report I am requesting is to show the turnover, monthly across 12 months so that we can see what we have spent with a supplier each month for that year, but also what a customer has spent with us.

    Hi team, returning to the idea here I'd also like to highlight the Income and Expense by contact report which can be run for a date range and with comparative columns. You'll also find you can drill into the figures of the report to view all transactions that make up the total for that contact.

    Alternatively, there is the Receivable and Payable Invoice Summary reports that can be filtered for the transaction types you'd like to see and grouped by Contact.

    Is there anything missing from these reports that you'd need to get the view you're after here?

  12. For the Annual Financial Statements, it may be useful to include the entity’s registration number directly beneath the entity’s name in brackets — for example:

    The New Company (Pty) Ltd
    (2025/######/07).

    This can be applied on both the cover page and in the header for consistency

  13. I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.

    Thanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Domenico. As you may have seen there is the Total Cash In and Out graph on the dashboard of the app. The dark blue bars show the total amount of cash that’s come into your bank account per month, and the light blue bars show the cash that’s gone out. 

    Appreciate there's no way to show this only based on invoices, or for a year view atm.

  14. A Custom Aged Receivables report that can be generated with additional fields selected (banking details as per attached Netcash Template) for import to Netcash to create a debit batch. Xero will then also have to make provision for to the banking details fields on the contact's account as required by Netcash.

  15. Report codes for notes disclosure - I use chart of accounts for notes disclosures, rather than relying on remembing to manually edit numbers within notes. It would be helpful if there could be a category we could choose under Equity which was for Notes Disclosure or Non-Reporting. The entries always contra, so it would be helpful to not have to edit the report layout for each additional new code.

    We’ve reviewed this idea with the product team and it’s not something we’re planning to develop right now, so we’ve marked it as Not in pipeline. While this won’t move ahead, we’re continuing work in related areas like Trusted Notes and code‑driven reporting, and we’ll keep monitoring interest in this space for future planning.

  16. Please can you consider offering a accounts transaction report that allows you to see transaction by unique customer account number - otherwise what is the point of having a unique customer account number?

  17. I would LOVE to be able to produce tracking reports where I can select ALL items within CATERGORY A, but then display them in columns by CATEGORY B.
    Eg. I use Department and Job.
    I would like to see all Jobs for a particular Department in a P&L.
    Is this something that may be possible in the future or would behelpful to others?

  19. We have clients where a sigificant proportion of their sales are Zero rated, which can significanly affect both net and VAT totals in certain boxes as well as the overall value in box 5 to be paid/repaid.

    Could you create a report that allows the totals in boxes 1-9 to be listed, allowing comparison with prior months or periods or years.

    This will be useful to see, say, the last 3 months or the corresponding prior year amounts so that percentages can be reviewed.
