  1. We would like to automatically transfer daily sales data (excluding GST) from Xero into our custom system. However, the current sales reporting options in Xero do not allow us to select a “Today” filter.

At present, we have to manually set the date each day to get the daily sales amount, which makes automation difficult and time-consuming.

    Idea / Request:
Please add a “Today” filter option (similar to existing options like “This Month” or “Last Month”) so that businesses can easily pull daily sales data without manual date entry.

    This would:

Enable easier automation with integrations and custom systems

  2. Aged Receivables/Payables Summary report to include invoice numbers by default, which is commonly available in other accounting softwares. It is crucial to know the number of invoices and unique invoice reference number for ease of reference when reviewing ageing.

  3. Be able to expand or reduce the size of a column in the depreciation schedule.
We are finding when we add extra columns it is making the depreciation method column really large and you cant adjust it. Making the page stretched across longer that it needs to be.

    See attachment as an example.

After some testing, we discovered that downloading the file in Excel or Google Sheets format and then saving it as a PDF reduces the column size. While this may not be ideal, it can serve as a temporary workaround.

  4. Many of my clients are partnerships and trade using the partners initials e.g. J & J Doe but on their reports it displays as %26 and on emails that they are sending with sales invoices, it displays as "& amp;" meaning that when I save reports or they send their invoices, this has to be changed. Having worked in a software house previously, I know that this is a programming issue and one that should have a relatively simple fix so can you please look at this.

  5. There are a number of things bugging me regarding the essential task of reconciling bank accounts. The Bank Reconciliation Reports are easy enough to create, but after that it all goes wrong. Nobody seems to have thought about what happens to them after the 'Publish' button is pressed! Here's what I think - and please please please vote for this or nothing will change.

    1) I would like to see bank reconciliation reports having their own dedicated space. They are currently hidden away in Reports>Published, mixed up with all the other published reports. Please create a new Bank Reconciliation Reports…

  6. Small Business Corporations (SBC's) can, under certain circumstances, depreciate assets in a 3-year schedule as follows:

    • 1st year: 50%
    • 2nd year: 30%
    • 3rd year: 20%

See the attached document, under 4.2.

Currently, this is not possible (I checked with Support).

I expect this to work within Xero, as it is a regular tax rule in South Africa.

Adding this schedule for South Africa would be extremely useful and important, as we now have to do the depreciation outside of Xero.

  7. Leave transaction report - NZ. Could this be changed to select multiple employees & to change the format so that there is a column for employee as opposed to grouping by employee. This enables easier reconciling through Excel. The Australian Leave Transaction report is ideal - could NZ's be made the same or similar.

  9. Create a Receivable and/or Payable Credit Note Report which lists all credit notes issued/received, and the corresponding invoice they are linked to. This will help as when a credit note is issued the status is 'paid', however if I want to do a review of invoices and days until invoice is paid, I want to be able to exclude items that have been credit noted.

    Thanks for sharing your idea.

For now, the closest thing we have is to use the Receivable/Payable Invoice Detail (or Summary) reports.

You can use the Filter option on Source, to only show credit notes. However, the existing reports don't show the invoices/bills they're allocated to.

It's now up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

  10. When pulling a Contacts report (expense by vendor, cash payments made to vendors, etc) out of Xero, please add the ability to "turn on" more fields from Contacts. For 1099 purposes, it's crucial to see "business entity" selections and "DBA names" (IRS-registered business name) when preparing the 1099 report. I know you can see this info within the 1099 report, but looking at one contact at a time is not efficient.

  12. Add the estimates section when downloading a copy of the Tax Return, to a full breakdown of the assessable income & tax owed. Usually I use pg 4 on a downloaded copy of a TR, but it does include a values in that section. it would be best to have a detailed summary that fits in 1-2 pages.

Hi Patrick, thanks for sharing this idea and for clearly outlining how a more detailed breakdown of assessable income, deductions, offsets, and tax owed in the downloaded Tax Return would fit into your workflow.

We’ve moved this idea into Gaining support. It’s now open for the wider community to add votes and comments, which helps us understand how useful this change would be across different practices. If others see value in this, they’re welcome to share how they’d use it.

We’ll continue to monitor the feedback as it comes in.

  13. When Importing from Xero to Xero Tax (AU), there is a filter button to filter only PP or NPP labels (or Both).

These are only relevant to Revenue and Expenses account types (and tax return labels).

When I click PP or NPP and then move onto Assets/Liabilities/Equity, no Tax Return Labels show up in the drop down (because Xero Tax filters them out).

Xero Tax SHOULD NOT filter out labels for Assets/Liabilities/Equity. There is no benefit and no efficiency for this behaviour. Xero Tax should return ALL labels for Assets/Liabilities/Equity whenever PP or NPP (or Both) is selected.

  14. Suggestions to improve the reporting of GST Audit Beta

    1. Allow us to select which Tax Codes to display in report (default All)

    2. Show the tax code in each row rather than as a report subheader. Useful when there are lots of records for some tax codes

    3. I noticed that we can select Reference field for the columns, but not Invoice No. If the entry's Ref field is blank, the report shows the Invoice No. So this is misrepresenting the report, and showing inaccurate results as no one analysing the report would know if they are seeing the Ref no or…

  15. It would be really useful to see the contact name on the History and Notes report.
We use this report to track bank account changes but we also check newly added supplier bank account details. Seeing which contact each line relates to would help us group them and know if an 'Edited - Bank.....' relates to the same contact as a 'Created' so we don't need to go into each line

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having more detail available in History and Notes reports could make it easier to review changes and track user activity.

The suggestion is to add contact details within the History and Notes report to help users identify which customer, supplier, or record a change relates to without needing to click out of the report.

We’ll continue tracking this idea here, where other users can share their feedback and examples to help shape future improvements.

  16. Dear Xero,

Please!.. Ideally, accurate references on all source documents should be able to link them to their Payment transactions in Xero. However, it can be extremely difficult and time-consuming - especially with Spend/Receive Money transactions.

It would be incredibly helpful for a column of 'Link ID's' to be displayed on all detailed reports.

Doesn't need to be fancy, just a Unique ID.

This link ID would need to be automatically generated by Xero, and, have the ability to change dynamically in the case a payment is removed (as one of many examples).

It would help to see the account…

Hi Callum, appreciate you highlighting how a unique payment reference field could support reconciliation workflows. Your suggestion about displaying Link IDs on detailed reports to track account movements is a valuable feedback.

This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage other members who would find this helpful to add their votes and share their experiences.

In the meantime, a practical workaround is to use the “Reference” field consistently. When creating invoices, include a unique reference code for the payment (for example, PAY-1001), and when receiving payments, enter the same reference in the “Reference” field. This ensures that the data will appear in the Reference column in both the Receivable Invoice report and the Account Transactions report when run for the relevant bank account, making it easier to track and reconcile payments.

  17. The delivered response to my previous idea was no correct. The aged summary/detail reports only show what is outstanding.
The report I am requesting is to show the turnover, monthly across 12 months so that we can see what we have spent with a supplier each month for that year, but also what a customer has spent with us.

Hi team, returning to the idea here I'd also like to highlight the Income and Expense by contact report which can be run for a date range and with comparative columns. You'll also find you can drill into the figures of the report to view all transactions that make up the total for that contact.

Alternatively, there is the Receivable and Payable Invoice Summary reports that can be filtered for the transaction types you'd like to see and grouped by Contact.

Is there anything missing from these reports that you'd need to get the view you're after here?

  18. For the Annual Financial Statements, it may be useful to include the entity’s registration number directly beneath the entity’s name in brackets — for example:

    The New Company (Pty) Ltd
    (2025/######/07).

This can be applied on both the cover page and in the header for consistency

  19. Come on Xero, this should be the flow already, the tab position after entering the date should go to the reversing date, we accountants enter a lot of manual journals that are reversed and it is a pain in the **** to have to mouse click on the auto reverse date to be able to enter the date...

This is a easy fix, this is just the tab index in the page...

Thanks for sharing this great idea, Leandro. We can see how changing the keyboard tab order on the Manual Journal screen would make entering reversing journals more efficient.

We've moved your idea to the 'Gaining Support' stage. This means it's now visible to the wider Xero community, who can vote and add comments to show their support. This collective feedback is a key way our product team gauges demand for new features.

While your idea is gaining support, we wanted to share a couple of other related ideas that you and other supporters might be interested in:

  20. Add drag and drop import feature or allow multiple journals to be import at the same time. For example adding daily sales/payment journals this would a gamechanger in time it take to complete these tasks

Hi everyone, as a quick confirmation through the idea - Right now you can use a CSV file to enter data and import multiple manual journals at once.

However, as per the request in this idea it is not currently possible to select or drag and drop multiple files to upload and create multiple manual journals at once.

If this is something you'd find valuable please add your support to this idea. We're interested to understand the community appetite in this feature.
