  1. Xero's Sales Tax Report doesn't recognize the great state of California's tax year: 7/1-6/30. Xero pull-downs only offer calendar-year options (1/1-12/31). So, we couldn't set up Sales Tax Report for largest state in the US. Please fix this. We can do it ad infinitum manually, but it seems that Xero could fix the problem. (Avalara could inform Xero if other US states also vary from a simple calendar Tax Year reporting.)

  2. With the old GST return layout, you used to be able to add a note on the return as to why you made an adjustment, can this be bought back please

    Hi Maresa, when you say you'd like to add Location would this be based on a Tracking category you've set up in the organisation? If so, you could add this when you create the original transaction(bill) the asset is raised from.

  4. The Blank Report only allows Account Codes in rows. It would be good to have the option to Tracking Options for a particular Tracking Category, and Dates in the rows, and Account Codes in the columns. This would be particularly useful as the current Tracking Summary report is quite inflexible (you can't filter for a particular Account Code, nor edit report titles and labels).

  5. It would be extremely useful if we could view VAT on the dashboard of mobile phone app. Director only uses Xero on his phone so can never keep track of what VAT is due.

    Thanks for your idea here, Sue. Understand how different details would be helpful for different users on the go through the Xero Accounting app.

    This isn't something we have plans for right now, but we'll continue to track the interest from your idea here.

  6. In the Account Transactions report, the Grouping / Summarising box should allow you to group/summarise by Financial Year.

    For example so you can look at multiple years in a row, but you still get subheadings/ breaks for each financial year. This would be really helpful when looking at recurring expenses like finance / insurance payments.

  7. I would like to request that the parameters around the business snapshot ratio's (specifically current ratio) exclude long term loans that are connected to a bank feed.

    Currently if a long term loan is connected to a bank feed it must be allocated as "Bank" this then over rides any account type or account mapping settings otherwise designating the account as a long term liability in regard to ratio's. Xero simply assumes if it is "bank" it must be an overdraft or credit card and therefore is a current liability. This deems any ratio's within the business snapshot relying on…

  8. Activity statement line items can now be sorted in the Activity Statement report in Xero, which is great to be able to review transactions by Account Name, to group similar transactions. However, transactions do not keep this order when exported to CSV or PDF. If manually sorted by the user in the Activity Statement report, the exported report should keep the same sorting preferences.

  9. Management Reports: I would like to add reports created outside of Xero in my published Management Report packet that I send to clients. There should be a way to upload a PDF or excel document to the Management Report Packet from outside Xero

  10. Budget Manager - Ability to Archive old budgets that relate to archived tracking categories.
    At present the budgets still appear within budget manager even though linked to an archived tracking category. It would be great that when you archive a tracking category that the budget is archived along with it or just the ability to archive old budgets in budget manager. At present you can only delete so you lose that history.

  11. Would like a pop out screen to view and edit transactions from the transaction report without having to arrow back to the report after each view/edit. Currently it is extremely time consuming with appx 7 back clicks to return to the report after each individual view/edit.

  13. For the Aged Receivables it would be helpful to know what customers owe us as well as what we owe them. We take deposits for future invoices and they don't show on the Aged REceivable Summary.

  14. Fixed Assets - Add tax depreciation for UK
    At the moment, only the Australian version of Xero offers a tax depreciation function. We need this feature in the UK version too if Xero Tax is to be considered as a serious Tax software.

  15. It would be really helpful if there was the option to add a planned payment date for all invoices listed on a particular aged creditors report. Having customised reports so that only invoices on particular job sites are listed, it then seems very inefficient to have to access 'bills to be paid' and manually, individually search each of the invoices listed on the report to schedule a payment date for them. Could this not be a function, whereby you can schedule them all for payment directly from the aged creditors report?

  16. Currently all reports can be Exported to PDF, Excel or Googlesheet. Please add an option to export to CSV. This file would not have report headings, just column headings.
    When exported data is to be imported into another system it is time wasting to have to remove the heading lines and convert the file to csv.
    Seeing that Xero requires all it's import files to be in csv, it's odd that this is not an option for the reporting side of things.

  18. Can the VAT account be split into two, a method that Sage utilises?

    A vat control account and a VAT suspense account.

    The VAT suspense account will show the balance of the Dr or Cr of vat payable or owing from transactions included in the VAT return, this is where the Vat payments to/from HMRC are posted.

    The VAT control account shows the balance of transactions where input/output VAT has been realised from invoices raised/received, but are not yet included in the VAT return typically because the the company is operating the VAT cash scheme.

    Hi Robert, being upfront this isn't something we have any intentions of changing in the near term. We will continue to track interest in your idea here for the time being but would be quite a fundamental change to the way tax works in Xero.

  19. PLS Report (EFT Reconciliation Report): Currently it merges first two fields of client name and surname and if that could be fixed with ability to export in .csv / excel please. It would be great if it PLS report could be exported in TrustEasy format to manage fee from refund (attached).

    Thanks for confirming, Jeremy. It sounds like the Gross and Net columns that can be included in the Account Transactions report would provide what you're after. Let me know if there's something I'm missing.
