  1. The ability to have a set lock date EACH month. For example, every month by the 5th the prior month is locked for users other than the advisers. Currently you can manually do this, IF you remember.

    My issues is, if I do not remember the accounting clerk will go back multiple months creating entries and causing issues.

  2. Previous/next rule navigation buttons added to the Edit Rule page and a check box for loading the next rule on save.

    This would speed up bulk editing like when first setting up or when there's been major changes.

    Another useful feature would be to tie this to a bulk edit option. Select the rules, click bulk edit and then after saving the first rule, it progresses to the next selected rule and so on.

    Thanks for sharing this idea about generating a report for the creation date for your Chart of Accounts. We appreciate you explaining how this could help with maintaining your Excel reports.

    In the meantime, the History and Notes report can be filtered to show just changes to the Chart of Accounts for a set period so could be a useful tool.

  4. What would be really useful would be a report that analyses historic bank account into nominal codes (p&l and balance sheet accounts). Pick start/end dates, choose weekly or monthly reporting, show opening bank balance, what came in and what went out, close bank balance, a choice of including figures gross or separating the VAT out. This does mean that Xero has to following through sales and purchase ledger payments to find out the account codes of the sales invoices and bills that were paid. I've asked Jax to do this and it can't. Come on, how about making your AI…

  5. Currently there is the inability to edit one payment in a batch deposit that was created from the Reconcile screen without dismantling the entire batch (with Unreconcile, and then Remove and Redo). If the batch Deposit is created from the Invoice screen and one line item needs adjusting, we have and option to Edit Batch. This allows for removing one line item of the batch but preserves the remainder of the batch (less the removed line item). Please add the Edit Batch function to batch deposits created in the Reconcile screen too! It is a big pain point when you…

  6. Would love to be able to send the Uncoded Statement Lines report via the Xero ask feature. It would be great if we could attach documents to the Xero Ask questions so it's much easier for the client to download the document, add their responses and re-upload to Xero Ask.

    This way it provides easier visibility to firm on which clients have yet to respond to an Uncoded Statement Lines or if a bookkeeper is on vacation it is easier to jump in where needed and we aren't relying on a 3rd part platform.

  7. Placeholders for dates in bank rules descriptions for example reconciling monthly payroll and having the month it relates to pull through on the description through a bank rule.

  8. When selecting to apply bank rules manually they are automatically shown in alphabetical order. I can see that this will be helpful for many, but it would also be useful to be able to manually set the order.

    We have so many, I've had to apply numbers in the rule names e.g '1 - name a' '1 - name b' '2 - name a' '2 - name b'

    Instead I'd like to be able to categories / group / manually order them.

    I'll re-open your idea here understanding it's more related to the rule ordering when applying through cash coding.

    Lets start to get a sense of the interest from community in this here, I'll share if there are any plans made for enabling this here.

  9. Please instate bank feeds for ABN AMRO bank (the Netherlands). I joined Xero for its highly automated systems. Now I still have to download and import bank statements manually.

    It adds insult to injury for the fact I have to sign up to a premium plan to be able to account in a mere two currencies. For small traders like myself with low turn-overs and no need for the majority of features larger companies need, this feels deeply inappropriate and unfair. (another idea about this topic is already live elsewhere)

    Hey everyone, thanks for the support on this idea.

    While our Open Banking connections in the EU currently cover only Denmark and Ireland, you can still keep your ABN AMRO transactions up to date in Xero by manually importing your statements.

    We'll keep en eye on the support for this here, and let you know of any updates in this area. Thanks for taking the time to share!

  10. It would be useful to have the ability to record both a 'Spend Money' and a 'Receive Money' transaction when reconciling a single bank line item.

    For example, when reconciling a bank deposit (money received), a user should be able to simultaneously record a portion of that money as a 'Spend Money' transaction (e.g., for cash expenses paid out of the deposit) in addition to the main 'Receive Money' entry. This would prevent the need to leave the reconciliation screen, streamlining daily workflows for businesses that handle cash deposits combined with cash expenses.

  11. Add tracking categories to the find and match function on the bank reconciliation screen. this would make matching payments to invoices easier for my clients as they have payments taken via DD per branch

  12. When an account is reconciled and the report is created for the period, it would be nice if there was a little summary alert for the end date of the most recent report on the dashboard tile (i.e. reconciled up to and including 28 Feb 2025). This would help to make VERY clear immediately which accounts are reconciled to which date and help to plan which accounts need work or need a report and which are done for the reporting period you are working on.

  13. Chart of Accounts - Increase "Bank Account Number" Limit

    Currently the account number is limited to 20 characters.

    A International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is the standard for bank account numbers in Europe. I can be as much as 34 characters long.

    Please extend the length of the Bank Account Number to 34 characters.

  14. Until recently I have been manually importing my monthly BlueVine Statements into Xero. This is a far from ideal approach since from a reporting and receivables standpoint, the data will always be stale and out of date. This leads to events like automated past due reminders going out for receivables that have actually been received and marked as paid.

    I just recently learned of the bank feed integration with Yodlee, but the quality of the data provided by this service is heavily flawed by sending over incorrect analysis codes with transactions that cannot be removed or edited. While it does…

    Appreciate you sharing why the Yodlee feed doesn't currently fit your needs, Jeff.

    We're always keen to hear the new feed connections our customers would most like to see. We don't have immediate plans for a direct bank feed with BlueVine, however we'll start to get a feel of the this through support in your idea here, and can keep you updated if any plans are made.

  15. It would make a quick check of allocations so much easier if the dashboard for bank accounts allowed you to customise the "account transaction screen" so you could toggle between options like you can under reports - account transactions. By enabling account codes to show in the "cash book side" would help us identify misallocations so much quicker and the data is there ...

  16. When preparing monthly CIS returns on xero you need to create a bill for the subcontractor and reconcile/mark the bill as paid. When you have clients that have on average 80 to 120 subcontractors the bill creation even with a bill template can be time consuming.
    Something to consider is whether creating a bill could be removed from this process and the CIS return be prepared simply from a spend money to a CIS enable contact.
    Also something else that can be time consuming when dealing with this volume of subcontractors is downloading the monthly CIS payment certificates as clients…

  17. The receiving of PGG Wrightson's bank feeds within 4 working days of end of month (as currently stated in support/help) seems to no longer be the standard time frame.

    Can you please review with PGGW whether the time frame provided needs updating so we don't need to keep contacting support for confirmation as to whether there is an issue or just a slow month when feeds aren't through by that 4th working day.

    No one wants a repeat of April 2025 when the feeds were not received until 19th May.

  18. Right now "Save" is essentially "Save and Close" -- and then "Save & Add Another" creates a new blank item.

    I would like "Save" to stay on the same screen, so I can then use "Copy" from the "Options" menu to enter the same/similar item.
