Bank Reconciliation - Filter by spend/receive money
Filter the bank reconciliation by spend or received
Simple to complete the debtors first / or creditors
82 votesHi everyone ✨
Thanks for continuing to share your feedback on this idea. We’ve seen a lot of interest in having more detailed filters in Bank Reconciliation, including separate fields for Spent and Received amounts, and for Bill Numbers and Invoice Numbers 😊
We understand how clearer filtering would make it easier to review transactions, track activity, and find the right items faster when reconciling.
We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so other customers can vote and add comments. The more detail we can gather on the situations where this would help most, the better this helps our team understand the impact and prioritise future improvements ✨
We’ll continue to monitor the feedback here and share any updates as we have them.

Consolidated Accounts - Intercompany Journal Mirroring
Intercompany Journal Mirroring
The Problem
When a user posts a manual journal in one Xero entity (e.g. to record an intercompany loan, recharge, or allocation), they must manually replicate the corresponding entry in the linked entity. This is time-consuming, error-prone, and breaks the audit trail across the group.
The Proposed Solution
Extend the existing Xero Network connectivity to support automated intercompany journal drafting i.e. when a manual journal is posted in Entity A, Xero drafts the mirror journal in the linked Entity B, ready for review and approval.
Key Features to Consider
- Linked entity mapping — Users define which accounts…
5 votesSorry Robert accidental post on the wrong idea! As per Malcolm's suggestion you can use the Xero network to send invoices from one company to another to create as a bill in the other. We don't have any plans to extend the Xero network to journals but for now we'll get a sense of interest from the wider community.

Reporting - Show all uncoded/unreconciled Account transactions in one report instead of singular accounts
There is currently an uncoded statement lines report that you can run to view all uncoded/unreconciled statement lines. There is however no report that shows unreconciled account transactions for multiple bank accounts at once. You have to run this all separately for each account to be able to view or go into each account on the dashboard and filter on unreconciled. For an organization with multiple credit cards and accounts this is absolutely time consuming and not an efficient use of time. We need a report like the uncoded statement lines report that reports on unreconciled account transactions and this…
13 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We can appreciate the ability to view all uncoded account transactions on one report instead of having to go through each account. We're moving this idea to gain more support from the community. You may share this idea with your friends and colleagues who may also want to see these changes in Xero.

Bank Rec Report - Run by reconciliation date
Hi,
What about generate a report that lists reconciliations by date reconciled, rather than date of transaction?
That way, if you realise after some time that you have made a mistake in your reconciliations, you can easily identify it having happened during the current session or a previous session of data entry.4 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

Reconcile period report
Provide a report which shows all bank accounts listed alongside the latest reconciled month for each bank account to provide a quick overview of which bank accounts have not been reconciled.
13 votesHi Maria, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this reconciliation period report idea. It’s been helpful to understand how a single view of reconciliation status for all bank accounts could support the way you manage your work.
This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, so it’s open for the community to add votes and comments. If others would find this useful, it’d be great to hear how it could fit into your workflow or any specific use cases you have in mind. That kind of detail really helps guide what we explore next.

Bank Reconciliation - Change terminology from Reconcile to Categorise or Allocate
Instead of referring to reconcile transactions, it would be better to refer to categorise or allocate transactions.
Bank transactions are categorised - we tell Xero what each transaction is for - answers "What was this for?" However at present this is called Reconcile transactions
Reconciling an Account - is matching the above transactions to the bank's records (statement) - checking that every transaction in Xero matches what actually happened in the bank account and the end balance matches.
The terminology seems to confuse some and they think by categorising/allocating a transaction they have reconciled the account.
27 votesThanks for your feedback and for pointing out how the term "Reconcile" can be confusing—especially for those new to Xero or bookkeeping.
We get that using clearer terms like "Categorise" or "Allocate" might feel more intuitive and help reduce confusion when working through bank reconciliation.
Right now, this idea’s open for feedback and support, so feel free to keep voting and sharing how a change like this could help in your day-to-day.

Bank Feed - Aldermore bank
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop a feed that supports Aldermore bank
84 votesHi everyone, thanks for all the support for a bank feed with Aldermore Bank. We are aware of the interest here, and are currently exploring the possibility of this feed.
As some of you have noted, the best option for now is to manually import your bank statements into Xero. This will help you keep your accounts up-to-date. You can find instructions on how to do this in our Xero Central article here: Import a bank statement.
Another way you can help is by letting Aldermore Bank know you’d like to see them integrate with Xero. We've found that banks are more likely to prioritise building a feed when they hear directly from their own customers. They can get in touch with our team to start the process here: Register your financial institution for bank feeds.
We want to be transparent that while we're aware of the demand…

Bank Reconciliation - Show newest transactions first when sorting
It would be ideal when in reconcile bank, under the Account Transactions tab, that the lines are sorted newest to oldest as the first option under each sort category.
Now that we are years into using Xero, it is not necessary to see the old transactions as a first see option.
I typically sort my account transactions by Status as I want to see unreconciled items on the top and directly beneath that is the reconciled but the first line is the very first transaction posted years before. If I am trying to find a double entry in account transactions…

Bank Reconciliation - Ability to upload a remittance and Xero to match with existing transactions
In Bank rec window, when you try to reconcile a money receive, you could upload the remittance advice from customer PDF or excel, then Xero could auto match all the existing invoices/credit notes
6 votesTotally get the forward thinking here, thanks for sharing! We're continuing to think about how we can bring more automation to reconciling your accounts and while this isn't something we have direct plans of atm we'll keep a close eye on the support here and be sure to share if there are any updates planned.

Central Full Reconcile Feed with all transactions
The more crucial and manual part of accounting is to reconcile all transactions. When a company has multiple bank accounts, credit cards, etc. it is absolutely critical for there to be a central feed that shows all transactions that have yet to be accounted for, add attachments should be a drag and drop now a hard to see icon with an easy preview once added. This should also have a master sync button to push all added feeds to update or have something that auto syncs them with a timer to customize how often to refresh them.
It would make…

Bank Feeds - Support for Commonwealth Bank (CBA) personal credit cards
Bank feeds for Commonwealth Bank personal credit cards
10 votesHi Ben, thanks for sharing your idea. I’ve moved this to Gaining Support.
Currently, our direct feed agreement with CBA is limited to their business and corporate products. However, with the ongoing rollout of Open Banking in Australia, we know there is a lot of interest in seeing more personal account types supported.
I’ve updated the title to "Bank Feeds - Support for Commonwealth Bank (CBA) personal credit cards" so other community members can easily find this and add their votes.
Quick Tip for now: Until a direct feed is available, the most efficient way to get those transactions in is to download an OFX or CSV file from NetBank and use the "Import a Statement" feature in Xero. You can find a step-by-step guide on manual imports here.

Bank Feed - Cynergy bank
For Xero to expand their bank feed connections to develop feed that supports Cynergy bank
51 votesHi team, I know it's been sometime since our last update and you're eager to know where this is at. I'm pleased to share that a feed for Cynergy bank is now in development.
I'll be back to update as soon as this becomes available so you can get the connection going 🙂

Bank accounts - Change balance formatting
Please change the font and bold the balances on the accounts main screen and move the balance back to the left where it was previously.
I can't figure out why you made this change in the first place as there was nothing wrong with the setup of the old Bank Accounts screen. I do like the added width but you've made it harder to see the balance quickly and it just isn't as user friendly view IMO.
8 votesThanks Jim, appreciate your feedback and have shared this back with the team. We don't have any immediate changes planned for this but will keep an eye on interest here and share if there are any updates.

Bank Reconciliation - Select multiple statement lines to reconcile against transactions
We have a major customer who pays multiple invoices but splits their remittance across more than a single bank statement line. There does not seem to be ability to match a bulk deposit against more than one bank statement line.

Chart of Accounts - Increase the maximum character length for Account Codes
The current limit is 10 alphanumeric digits. I work with non-profits and need to be able to approximate segmented accounts. At 10 digits, we are up against the limits of what can be encoded. With longer account codes, we could not only encode more information, but also add delimiters to improve readability and extensibility. Longer account codes would also be a workaround for the fact that we cannot create custom report codes. I still think that's a good idea, but I understand it might be technically difficult. I cannot imagine that simply allowing longer account codes would be a big…
3 votesHi Andrew, thanks for highlighting this idea. We can see how having support for longer account codes would make it easier for businesses with more complex chart of accounts structures, or those migrating from other systems, to retain their existing account numbering.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is something you'd like to see, please continue to vote and share how longer account codes would support your accounting workflow.

Checks - Ability to manually add number
I would like to be able to manually enter Check numbers. Xero thinks I printed a check, but I didn't & I am not able to use that check because it automatically goes to the next number it thinks is unused. Reconciling the bank account amount is more important than the correct check number. For example, if I misprint a check onto a blank piece of paper and need to reprint it, it wants a new check number not the number that I had which wasn't used. I currently have 12 unused checks in my pile because Xero thinks they…
3 votesThanks for sharing this idea 🙂 We’ve moved it to Gaining Support.
We can see how being able to manually enter a check number would be helpful, especially where a check has been misprinted or needs to be reprinted. This would give more flexibility to keep check numbers aligned with the physical check stock while still focusing on getting the bank account reconciled.
You can now share this idea with your friends and colleagues so they can vote and comment too.

close period
Have an additional date which is the driver for the bill/invoice/journal to be posted into the current period. This would enable invoices dated in prior months to the current period to have correct due dates calculated.

Bank Reconciliation - Ability to split spend or receive money transaction
Ability to allocate part bank payments to a full spend money transaction already entered, instead of deleting the part payments and marking the full spend money transaction as reconciled
4 votesHi everyone, thanks for bumping this idea . We understand you’re looking for a more visible way to split bank transactions from the reconciliation screen, so you can break down a single transaction into multiple categories more easily.
Having the split option more accessible could help make reconciliation quicker and reduce the need to search through additional steps.
We’ll continue to keep track of this idea and gather feedback from the community.

Jax Auto-Reconciliation for Bank Rules ONLY
It would be super helpful if Jax could Auto-Reconcile Bank Rules ONLY as it does not correctly allocate the other transactions but bank rules are fine to be auto reconciled.
