  1. It would be nice to have automatic bank statement transfers, as a customer why I got Xero is to spend less time with these manual things and let my bookeeper handle everything. But now I still have to manually email 10 statements a month to Hubdoc and that is still precious time lost on things I hate to do

  2. Please give the option to import a list of new accounts to add to the existing Chart of Accounts.
We have created a new department with a couple dozen new accounts.
I'd like to be able to upload from a csv file rather than entering one by one manually since I already have the listed in a spreadsheet.
Currently, the only option is to reimport the entire Chart of Accounts with the new accounts added to the list. To me that is an unnecessary risk of overwriting hundreds of existing accounts.

Appreciate your interest in this idea, team. I want to confirm that it's possible to import multiple new accounts to your existing chart of accounts through the use of a CSV import.

You'll want to export your existing chart of accounts, where you can add the new ones to the sheet. Save this as CSV, then re-import to your organisation - We have information on importing to your chart of accounts here, and you can test in the demo company if you'd like to try this out and view the results first.

  3. Can you please update the Bendigo Bank logo to the new and updated version.

Xero currently uses the old logo.

Hi team, thanks for your feedback and supporting this idea. I'm pleased to share that as part of a wider change we have recently released the Bendigo logo has also been updated across Xero and you should see this reflected in your organisation.

  5. Upload files to an account code in the chart of accounts, rather than to a transaction or a contact. Thinking in particular for lease and loan schedules and calculations, breakdown of accruals / prepayments, pdf bank statements to bank accounts.

Hey community, 👋 thanks for your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

Simply click on the figure in the YTD column on the chart of accounts screen and it opens a detail page with the file upload button on it.

Thanks again for your feedback. It helps us to continue shaping the future of reports here at Xero.

  6. When Reconciling a large bank feed It would be good if the page went back to the top so that we did not have to scroll up every time.
At the moment when you get to the bottom and page forward it stays at the bottom of that screen

Hi team, rounding back to this idea and testing, it appears this actually may have been resolved when we released updates to Search and Filter within the Reconcile screen.

Now, when you scroll to the bottom of the page, and navigate between pages of statement lines you'll automatically be taken to the top of the following page.

If this is not the behaviour you're experiencing we'd recommend connecting with our specialists at Xero Support for a closer look in. Thanks!

  7. It would be great (if not already available - I can't find it) to get an audit report whereby we can see changes made to a set of accounts after they have been submitted.

Hi community, we have now released a change to the History & notes report so you can view changes to the Name or Type of an Account on screen, without having to click into the line of the report. This includes where you have updated chart of accounts via an import.

Thanks for sharing and feeding back what would help you working with Xero, here.

  8. Codes are set up as ***-yy which isn't logical to type. I guess it's an accounting convention but I can type 501.50 much easier (one hand on the numeric keypad and no need to move it to the'-') than 501-50.

For non-accountants, and IT people 501.50 is the logical way to type and enter these codes.

  9. In 'Account Transactions', it would be useful to be able to specify the date order - latest first or, as now, oldest first.

You can click the Date header in the Account Transactions tab of the bank account to sort by Date, Gordon.

Clicking once will sort newest-first and a second click will switch the order to oldest-first.

  10. Cash Coding - Ability to select many transactions at once, not by ticking one by one.

Example on the attached. I have like thousand of these transactions, and I had to tick them one by one to be able to reconcile them.

Hi Danica, the select options in cash coding work similar to spreadsheets. There is the check box at the top of the grid that allows you to select all so you could then just uncheck the lines you don't want to reconcile.

Alternatively, if you select a line and hold down Shift on your keyboard you'll be able to select multiple lines by clicking down or up to the line to bulk select. 😊

  11. Would be helpful if it showed a running total for the bank on the bank rec just to check the bank is correct

Hi team, as mentioned in my last update there are already means to view your balances when reconciling.

Currently from the Reconcile screen of a bank account there is the Balance in Xero shown at the top that updates as you reconcile.

Account Transactions will also show the running balance of the accounts selected.

  12. If I use the Receive Money option from the menu: when selecting the customer I would like Xero to give me an option to SELECT INVOICE to apply money to OR create a new transaction. Much easier than going to customer - add payment etc. Again look for some inspiration from other products.

Hi Hennie, if an invoice already exists related to a payment receive money should not be used. Rather than having to add a payment to the invoice or bill, you can simply use the Find & Match tool within the Reconcile tab to locate and match with the statement line.

  13. When managing the finances for rental properties it would be great if a default rate could be set up against the 'Account' for rent payments so that the Unit Price ie weekly rent, doesn't have to be entered each time (52 times a year)

  14. There are some cases where banks do not have feeds available and the items posted as received or paid from these banks must be reconciled on an individual basis which takes a lot of time!
We need a reconcile all or a tick box system down the left hand side to be speed this reconciliation process up. I have many clients with these manual banks and it's extremely time consuming marking everything individually as reconciled.

Hi team, this is already possible. However you'll need to enable the mark as reconciled option on the Account Transactions tab of the bank account. If you click on the '?' icon in the top right of the blue banner you'll see an option to switch this on. Once turned on you can check the lines you need and select the More option where you'll be able to bulk Mark as Reconciled or Unreconciled. 😊

  15. I have a Monzo business account that's reconciled with Xero. When I upload the receipts to Monzo they don't come over into Xero. Are you planning to add this as a feature? If not with Monzo do you offer this with any other accounts like Pleo? It would be good to attach the receipts in Monzo as they happen as they show in Monzo straight away.

Hi Emma, you can connect your Monzo account with Xero to import your transactions. We have a bit of detail on the criteria for automatically importing data from your Monzo account and the steps of how to connect this in Xero Central.

If you have more questions on this I'd recommend connecting with our specialists at Xero Support through the Contact Xero Support link at the bottom of the page there.

  16. Bulk update account for multiple line entries to allow for easier reanalysis of multiple line items within the software.

Include a feature to make it easier to change the account for multiple line entries at once through the supplier side to make it easier when bookkeeping to reanalyse multiple line items, rather than editing them one by one if they get reanalysed within the accounts.
I.e. for a client I originally posted all AXA payments as insurance, in the accounts they were reanalysed as other staff costs, at the moment I need to edit every single line item included in…

Hi Adam, we have a feature called Find and recode that will enable you to bulk update the account code for multiple lines at once. You could filter by the contact and then recode whatever lines of transactions as needed.

I'd recommend giving this a try in the demo co first and potentially working with your accountant before implementing this in your organisation. Have more of a read on this here.

  18. We can use a single incoming bank item for multiple invoices or expenses, but I've noticed the converse isn't true.

I had an issue at an eatery where the staff didn't get my food order until everything was paid. So one line came in for drinks and another for food. I filed the entire trip under one expense item.

When it came through Xero, the reconciliation didn't enjoy that I was trying to attribute two items to a single expense.

Thanks for the feedback here, We're going to shift this idea to delivered. As mentioned in my last update - you can record the expense as a bill in Xero, which enables you to apply multiple payments when reconciling. While you can only reconcile one statement line at a time, you can reconcile more than one statement line to a single bill or invoice.

It's worth noting spend money is treated as a direct payment, so you can only match this on a one-one basis and you would need to enter one spend money transactions for each portion of the payment.

  19. At the moment, if dates are locked, you can't see transactions in Find and Recode prior to that date. I often use Find and Recode to check the previous coding of contacts/accounts and in order to see them I need to unlock dates and then relock them again. It would useful if they could still be viewed despite dates being locked but perhaps those prior to the lock date are greyed out to show they can't be changed?

Hi team, the ability to show locked transactions in Find & Recode has now been rolled out 🥳

You'll see a check box for this in the search area.

As mentioned in my last update this will show the transactions, however they will be read-only so you can view them in the search results but non-selectable to make changes. Thanks for your feedback on this here.

  20. Recording refund through bank reconciliation tab rather than doing a cash refund on the bill/invoice

Hi community, thank you for your value inputs and feedback here. We recently released the ability to reconcile credit notes meaning you can easily match a refund for your customer without needing to apply this separately to the credit note and then search for the refund payment to reconcile.

You'll find you can now search and select Credit Notes through Find & match when reconciling. When you reconcile a credit note this will apply a refund to the credit note transaction in Xero. Find out a little more on how this works on Xero Central, or dive into the demo company to try it out first 🙂

We appreciate this doesn't currently accommodate if you have created an overpayment for the original amount and we have a separate idea you may like to support for this here.
