  1. Create Hudoc to remain in XERO so we don't have to leave to many apps.
But most importantly send alerts automated to certain staff or users who have not uploaded their receipts and alert when its outside of company policy.
I need to have 4-5 apps just to use Xero with gusto. With expenses. Competitor is one app

Thanks for your feedback, Andrew. Appreciate especially with the new feature for credit notes why you'd like to have this default set.

We'll start to feel out the interest of this here and I'll make sure to let you know here if there are any plans for changing the behaviour of this check box.

  4. Currently, a check written is downloaded in the feed with the date the check cleared and no payee name. It would be fantastic if AI could read the check, enter the payee and the date the check was actually written rather than the date it cleared. That would save the user from having to look up the check on the bank website and manually editing it so that the bank reconciliation is actually correct.

Thanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea’s David. We can appreciate the need for AI to read the details such as payee and date when the check was written. We’ll start to track support in your idea from the community, here.

  5. Rename Archived Accounts in COA.

When reorganising a chart of accounts and reporting we often need to differentiate between the old way of doing things and the new. Or we archive a lot of 'Accountant Only' codes.

Since we can't filter out the archived codes - It would be great NOT to have to 'restore' them to rename to fit in with how we do things now.

Hi Kali, thanks for raising this idea. We understand the ask to update details on archived accounts directly, such as account names or codes, without needing to temporarily restore them first.

We've updated this idea to Gaining Support. We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this Chart of Accounts improvement useful.

  6. Our company is a BIG proponent of the use of AI technologies. But because we don't currently integrate with Xero directly with our AI tool, I was hoping to use JAX to retrieve the information that we need.

Unfortunately JAX has a very limited subset of info it can retrieve making the results not very useful. It would be more helpful if JAX could have more lines of information or more results back from whatever query it did in the back end, so that I can get the data out on my side.

My example is that I asked JAX…

Hi Sean, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand tat giving JAX access to a larger dataset and support deeper historical analysis could improve function.

The idea is to expand JAX’s data access and processing capabilities, allowing users to ask broader questions across more historical data and gain deeper insights without needing to manually combine data in Xero.

We encourage the community to share some more use cases and how JAX could be improved.

  8. When auto-reconciling, separate spend items from received items. The Aged Receivables department does not find the auto-reconcile feature useful, whereas it is beneficial for the Aged Payables department.

There should be an option to enable auto-reconciliation for spend items while disabling it for received items

Hi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why having separate controls for auto-reconciliation of Spend and Receive transactions would be useful, especially for teams managing different parts of the reconciliation process.

The idea is to allow users to enable or disable auto-reconciliation settings separately for Spend and Receive items, giving more flexibility over which transactions are automatically matched.

We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this workflow improvement useful.

  9. There's currently a max number of conditions that can be added to one bank rule of, I think, 16.

This is very limiting, particularly for some of our rules. For example:

A bank rule that adds location tracking data, for example, EU, UK, USA, Rest of the World, based on the payment card country code. There are more codes than I can list in the conditions for some of the rules.

A bank rule that adds location tracking data, but is based on the customer's email address because the payment card country code isn't pulled through for this particular type…

  10. I have a linked Revolut Business account. Transactions are showing up correctly. The issue comes when an already reconciled transactions is marked as expense in Revolut (and adding an invoice). Those expenses comes as a separate transactions in Xero.

The expected behavior is to update the existing transaction and add the expense info (attachment, category) to it.

Hi Stefan, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why automatically matching Revolut expense syncs with existing transactions could help keep your bank reconciliation cleaner and reduce manual review.

Currently, when synced expenses create separate lines instead of updating existing records.

I’ve updated this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking feedback and gather more votes.

  11. Intercompany Loan Accounts & FX Revaluation

    The Workaround

Because Xero only performs automatic foreign currency revaluation on bank accounts, you're having to classify intercompany loan accounts as bank accounts, purely to get the FX conversion functionality, even though they are not 'bank accounts'

    Why This Is Problematic

    • Without changing the layout, it misrepresents the account type in the chart of accounts and on the balance sheet by default, which if left, undermines the integrity of financial reporting, particularly when producing statutory accounts or group consolidations
    • It's a compliance headache as auditors and accountants expect loan accounts to look like loan…

  12. I would like to be able to create templates for common manual journals I need to post. I have to create journals to deal with VMS and Sale on Commission transactions and having the accounts, VAT code and comments already in a template would save time and mistakes creating these. Also, being able to fix the debit and credit fields for each account would ensure the journal is entered correctly.

  13. Thank you for adding these fields when adding a contact on the fly. Can you please also add in the field for the expense acct that this contact should normally be coded to. Right now I have to save the contact, finish my bank rules, then go pull up contacts, find the vendor then go to the bottom and give it the gl number.

Great to hear your flow of work in your idea here, Emelie - Can see how being able to add this detail on the fly when creating your bank rules could save you time.

This isn't something we have planned just yet but will get a gauge of interest from your idea and be sure to share if there are any updates for this, here.

  15. I’d like to suggest a small but valuable feature update:

When we search for a bank memo, description, or reference in bank transactions or account transactions (e.g., “UberBV”), Xero does return the transactions, but the categorized account (account head) is not visible in the search results.

In MYOB, when performing the same search, the results also show the categorized account, which helps identify how transactions were coded in the past. This saves time and ensures consistency during reconciliations.

    Feature Request:

Please consider updating Xero so that when searching transactions (by memo, description, or reference), the categorized account column also displays…

Hi Abrar, thanks for the thoughtful suggestion and the screenshots showing the account code used when reconciling the bank statement lines. We’ve shared your feedback with the team so they can consider this in future improvements. In the meantime, it’d be great to hear from others who’d benefit—please add your vote and any specific scenarios where this would save time in your workflow. In the meantime as a short-term workaround, run the Account Transactions report for the Bank account and add the Related account column to see where each transaction was coded ✨

  16. When adding a new bank account the client needs to tick 'don't select' on all the other accounts which can be unsettling if these accounts already have bank feeds. There must be better wording for this, or remove the need to tick 'don't select'.

Hi Saara, we can see how updates to the labels or instructions in the bank feed connection flow could help make setup clearer and reduce the chance of selecting the wrong account.

We'll continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

  17. It would be so time-saving to allow us to create default shortcut options for the reconciliation adjustment instead of only being able to choose "Bank Fee" or "Minor Adjustment". My "Bank Fee" is always the same information for all field (except for the amount), so why can't I just select a button that I can name something like "MY Bank Fee Default" and it fills in the fields automatically and takes me directly to the amount field?! This would save people HOURS of time every month when reconciling.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for this suggestion!

I’ve assessed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support. Being able to create custom adjustment shortcuts would be a massive win for efficiency, especially for practices or businesses dealing with high volumes of bank transactions.

I've also updated the title to Bank Reconciliation - Custom templates/defaults for reconciliation adjustments to help others with the same pain point find and support this.

A quick tip for now: If your bank fees always come from the same bank account or have a consistent description on your bank statement, you might be able to automate this entirely using Bank Rules.

By setting up a "Spend Money" bank rule, Xero can automatically suggest the account, description, and tax rate the moment the bank statement line hits your screen, meaning you wouldn't even need to click the Adjustment button!

We’ll keep you posted on any…

Thanks for sharing your idea, Ellen. We appreciate there are more banks our customers would like to see us to connect with and save manual efforts involved in having to import bank statements manually.

We'l start to get a sense of the wider interest in a feed with Caixa and I'll be sure to let you know here if there are any plans made for this.

  20. Current behaviour:
When reconciling a transfer and searching for a bank account, the dropdown search only works if you enter text from the very start of the account name. For example, if I have an account called "Emerge COGS", I can only find it by typing "Emerge" - searching for "COGS" returns no results and causes the dropdown to glitch.
    The inconsistency:
This search behaviour is inconsistent with other areas of Xero. When making a payment from a bill, the account search works with mid-string matching - searching for "COGS" correctly brings up "Emerge COGS". This creates confusion as users…
