  1. Xero to send out an email reminder for when a bank feed either needs refreshing, has an issue, or is due, and tag as many other users of your choice in that email.

Hi everyone, thanks for raising this with the community.

We can see how email notifications for disconnected or expired bank feeds could help users stay on top of issues and take action sooner when a connection needs attention.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and better understand how proactive bank feed notifications could support your workflows.

Please keep adding your votes and sharing more detail on how you'd like these alerts to work.

  2. Given that bank transactions are now processed 24 hours a day 7 days a week, it would be good if Xero ran overnight processing everyday rath

Hi Greg, thanks for raising this. We can see how running automated bank feed processing and matching on weekends as well as weekdays could help keep transaction data more consistently up to date and reduce Monday catch-up.

I’ve updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support, so if this is an update you'd like to see, please keep on voting.

  3. It would be really helpful if the way the list of bank rules is displayed, when selecting them in the cash coding screen, was improved and made more user friendly.

Often I have to manually apply bank rules (due to other bank rule limitations). We have a lot, so this means scrolling through the list each time.

The arrow to display the whole list is tiny, requiring precise hovering to select it, and each click only moves the list at once.

They could be displayed in a better way, at least in columns, and more shown at once.

  4. Currently, if you connect a new Stripe feed, your default Stripe payment account auto updates to the new account without asking or notifying you. This is highly problematic. At a minimum, you should be notified that its updated. At best, it should ask if you want to update.

  5. On the Bank Reconciliation screen, please add a filter or checkbox to show only transactions where Xero has identified a matching bank rule. Essentially, “Here are all the lines that match the criteria of a bank rule.”

At present, these transactions are mixed in with all other unreconciled bank transactions. This means users must work through or scroll past numerous transactions to identify those where a bank rule is available.

A simple filter such as “Bank rule matches only” would allow users to quickly review and reconcile all transactions that have triggered a bank rule in one batch.

    This would…

Thanks for sharing this feedback. Having a way to quickly isolate transactions matched by bank rules could make high-volume bank reconciliation easier to manage.

We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If this would improve your workflow, let us know how you’d like to use it.

Thanks for connecting with our Xero Support team to feedback on our last update, Rachel. you can always react to the email notification of the status update from the idea that'll allow you to share feedback that myself and the team review, too. 🙂

Though it's possible to view the history when a change is made to an account in the chart of accounts, there's no current event that records when a user creates a new account.

We'll start to get a feel for the interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates.

  7. Rename Archived Accounts in COA.

When reorganising a chart of accounts and reporting we often need to differentiate between the old way of doing things and the new. Or we archive a lot of 'Accountant Only' codes.

Since we can't filter out the archived codes - It would be great NOT to have to 'restore' them to rename to fit in with how we do things now.

Hi Kali, thanks for raising this idea. We understand the ask to update details on archived accounts directly, such as account names or codes, without needing to temporarily restore them first.

We've updated this idea to Gaining Support. We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this Chart of Accounts improvement useful.

  9. Importing Bank Feeds - When importing bank feeds, before confirming the import it would be useful to see what the new statement balance in Xero will be once the transactions have imported so you can reconcile it to the statement balance before hitting confirm.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Amey. A balance preview during bank statement imports could make it easier to verify the imported statement lines before they’re added.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback.

  10. When auto-reconciling, separate spend items from received items. The Aged Receivables department does not find the auto-reconcile feature useful, whereas it is beneficial for the Aged Payables department.

There should be an option to enable auto-reconciliation for spend items while disabling it for received items

Hi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why having separate controls for auto-reconciliation of Spend and Receive transactions would be useful, especially for teams managing different parts of the reconciliation process.

The idea is to allow users to enable or disable auto-reconciliation settings separately for Spend and Receive items, giving more flexibility over which transactions are automatically matched.

We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this workflow improvement useful.

  11. Correct the Westpac Bank Feed so the fields are passed through to Xero correctly. Currently the Description (from Westpac) is put into the Payee field (which should be Merchant), resulting in truncated description payee.

This causes us several issues in our reconciling process, particularly with being unable to identify who made a purchase without logging into the westpac portal, as well as not being able to set up rules to consistently process against a contact without the merchant being passed through correctly.

I believe the matching of a transaction to a bank line is also impacted by this. We often…

Thanks so much for taking the time to share such a well thought out idea with us about a JAX auto-reconcile report 💙 We really appreciate the detail you’ve included and the way you’ve explained the impact this would have.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue to gather interest and feedback from the wider community. This helps us better understand the level of demand and gives our product teams useful context when reviewing ideas like this.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback with us and help shape Xero ✨

  13. I have a linked Revolut Business account. Transactions are showing up correctly. The issue comes when an already reconciled transactions is marked as expense in Revolut (and adding an invoice). Those expenses comes as a separate transactions in Xero.

The expected behavior is to update the existing transaction and add the expense info (attachment, category) to it.

Hi Stefan, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why automatically matching Revolut expense syncs with existing transactions could help keep your bank reconciliation cleaner and reduce manual review.

Currently, when synced expenses create separate lines instead of updating existing records.

I’ve updated this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking feedback and gather more votes.

  14. Would it be possible to add a feature to colour code our chart of accounts - especially expenses? When I am at the petrol station adding a receipt for a fuel purchase, it would be great to scroll down to a colour (with the account number). Another idea would be to have a favourites for expenses - we could add the ones we use most often.
Thanks from a small business owner.

  15. On the new home page, for each bank account, the Statement balance is on the left and the Xero balance is on the right. On the Xero app they are the opposite way around. Consistency between the two UIs would save time by reducing friction.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand that having consistent information across mobile and desktop is important, especially when you’re checking balances or making quick decisions on the go.

The suggestion here is to align the bank balance view in the mobile app with the web version, so users can see the same balance details and have a clearer view of their reconciliation position.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and gather more feedback on how this impacts your mobile workflows.

  16. Please could the 'Uncoded Statement Lines' button be reinstated on the new bank feeds page, rather than hidden under the ... menu?
It makes for an extra click every time and there's plenty of room on the page for it.

  17. When an account is reconciled and the report is created for the period, it would be nice if there was a little summary alert for the end date of the most recent report on the dashboard tile (i.e. reconciled up to and including 28 Feb 2025). This would help to make VERY clear immediately which accounts are reconciled to which date and help to plan which accounts need work or need a report and which are done for the reporting period you are working on.

  19. It would be so time-saving to allow us to create default shortcut options for the reconciliation adjustment instead of only being able to choose "Bank Fee" or "Minor Adjustment". My "Bank Fee" is always the same information for all field (except for the amount), so why can't I just select a button that I can name something like "MY Bank Fee Default" and it fills in the fields automatically and takes me directly to the amount field?! This would save people HOURS of time every month when reconciling.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for this suggestion!

I’ve assessed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support. Being able to create custom adjustment shortcuts would be a massive win for efficiency, especially for practices or businesses dealing with high volumes of bank transactions.

I've also updated the title to Bank Reconciliation - Custom templates/defaults for reconciliation adjustments to help others with the same pain point find and support this.

A quick tip for now: If your bank fees always come from the same bank account or have a consistent description on your bank statement, you might be able to automate this entirely using Bank Rules.

By setting up a "Spend Money" bank rule, Xero can automatically suggest the account, description, and tax rate the moment the bank statement line hits your screen, meaning you wouldn't even need to click the Adjustment button!

We’ll keep you posted on any…

  20. It would be helpful to be able to filter items to find and recode by income statement or balance sheet items rather than having to sort by code and selecting the applicable ones or filtering by ALL the applicable codes, which is very time consuming.
