Purchase Orders - Import / Export function
Simply formalising the blog comments from others to have Import functionality added to PO's and Xero's "if there is sufficient demand".
+1 here
We appreciate the passion and feedback we've received from customers about the ability to import and export purchase orders.
We want to be open, that we do not have a direct plan to build export and import functionality in Purchase Order any time soon.
Our Product team in this space are currently focused on modernising our underlying technology so we can build new features, faster in the future.
To give a clear message for anyone coming across the idea, we'll close this idea.

Import/Export function directly from CSV file is crucial for seamless workflow.
I agree with all the comments below. This should be a feature that is already available.

Hi Kelly, Has there been any progress on getting this feature added to Xero. Ie: can we import Purchase Orders into Xero directly from Excel or CSV? Seems like a standard feature that should have been added a long time ago based on the comments below.

Incorporating the Import/Export of Purchase Orders from servicing software would make business life a whole lot easier...I agree with everyone else comments and believe it is an essential tool for most businesses.

It's a great pity that you won't provide the import of Purchase orders option. It would be a very useful tool, and I hope you will reconsider. We know who we will be ordering from, and being able to import a list per project would save a lot of time as opposed to doing each order individually.

so there is no solution for export and import functionality in Purchase Order? I guess not very helpful.

I would really appreciate being able to import Purchase Orders from a csv file direct into Xero.
It would save a lot of manual entries as we track the cost of materials ordered against work completed.
Using invoiced purchases understates the materials ordered but not delivered. -

We need the function to export purchase orders to Excel or at least be able to use the Excel web query function. This is a critical function for us to be able to analyse and track departmental expenditure. It’s available for other data and should be available in Purchases as well. Please move up your priority list.

Importing purchase orders is a crucial tool for any business. Manual entry is tedious, this would be an ideal option to have as we can then copy to many other options - quotes/invoice/bill etc...
Is this in the works at all?

Hope can have Purchase Orders(Import / Export function), more easy for manufactory company. We have a lot DO need to enter it. One item with different unit price.
And also add quantity inside invoice & purchase orders. Thank you.

We have work being done by a related company. It would be great if they could push through the quotes (via Xero to Xero) which would then come in/ create as a draft purchase order, for us to update the tracking category for the job, then push back the purchase order via Xero to Xero. If we can push through invoices from one company to another (and create draft bills), it should not be too hard to add in Xero to Xero functionality for quotes and purchase orders.

Purpose: Users will be able to convert quotes to purchase orders and continue converting purchase orders to invoices. The idea is that suppliers would submit the quotes themselves.
This would help with purchase orders including specific serial numbers or technical language, thus reducing any errors.

A useful function to enable the import of Recipient Created Tax Invoices at end of month. Would hope that this is something that Xero will build into the product in the near future

Appreciate your feedback, however, it seems such a shame to part build something which could be so useful. If, at least, we could export to Excel, or other, then we could do something with the information. Thanks,
