New Purchase Order View - Improvement Suggestions
New Purchase Orders View - Improvement Suggestions
- Wide Screen is mentally straining and mostly irrelevent spaced out look over around 1400px; give a narrower screen width option please.
- Alternate line colourings may help
- Auto new-line/next-line is no longer working. Previously, pressing enter on a product made a default 1 item entry and opened a new line. This was a little unreliable, but clicking the correct product in the search also worked and cleanly. This action change is adding one more click to almost every line.
- Save and Send button should be at the bottom too - the order is finished at the bottom - why scroll right up again?
- The new layout can easily HIDE a secondary email - this is really bad sorry guys. I'm disappointed that Xero has not addressed the issue of supplier emails existing for different purposes yet. accounts/purchases etc. Ideally a default email address should be able to be set for each notification/document template.
- I'd love a default CC email option for internal notifications.
- A 'print PDF' automation with 'save and send' would save time.

Why is there no consistency between views within the application? There is no reason that PO should be a different width than Bills. The width only increases the lack of readability.
I note that Products & Services and employees also now have this full-width layout.

I have submitted this to support for more detailed feedback.
I have issues with new purchase order view:
1. A vast expanse of white space, the same features and marginally different font spread over twice the amount of screen space. Edge to Edge.
2. Increased eye movement and neck pivoting has WHS and OOS implications appear to have had no consideration.
3. The lack of colour/tone differentiating fields, data and spaces when compared to classic increases eye strain even when display settings are adjusted.
4. Attachments are now positioned diagonally opposite to the classic location leading to increased and unnecessary cursor movements.
5. Attachments:
i. Why narrow down what can be clicked to preview, I have to actually click the word view, classic allows clicking on the name anywhere to preview.
ii. Can no longer be previewed, they open a pop up that covers the existing view within Xero but then downloads. I need the preview not a download (yes I know I can change a setting in browser to change this however this then means all my other PDFs will open in browser when I need them to be in my PDF viewer.)
iii. Xero is again relying on third party programs for functions it used to be able to do on its own merit.
iv. I am sure I am not the only one when I say I need to be able to preview the document attached side by side with the purchase order/ invoice/bill it is attached to. It adds to the above WHS implications, and from an accounting perspective if full screen or new tab are our only options it leaves greater margin for error, this pop up should be resizable to match classic.These comments also need to be applied for when you force new bills onto us.

For anyone wanting to use a CSS injector to modify the page width. I use this CSS to hack/fix it.
.xui-panel.xui-padding-2xlarge {
max-width: 1350px;
margin: auto;
}
