  1. Currently when creating a batch payment, the bank payment details fields (Particulars / code / reference) are all drawn from the payee's Xero contact details page.

payment of some bills require an invoice number in the bank payment reference field (rather than just an account number), and this also helps to track which invoices are paid for companies with frequent / varied billing + auditing bank transaction list records.

It would be great if either:
    a) For a specific bill, Xero reads the invoice number and places this into the "reference field" within the bill payments screen (usually works) AND…

  2. When processing a batch payment report on Xero and exporting to excel to upload to the bank, separate the Account number and sort code - it currently processing them as one number omitting any zero's and this creates an incorrect bank account number, so makes the report useless.

  3. Ability to send or check remittances from individual contact page
When a supplier requests a copy remittance it would be easier to be able to go into their contact page and check/send a remittance from there instead of having to look at the batch remittance and send from there.

  4. The ability to print receipts for batch payments is desperately needed.

Currently there is no way to print a receipt for batch payments. There is only the ability to email receipts or print deposit summary. Deposit summaries do not contain the level of detail that a receipt does.

Currently, to print receipts for payments recorded in a batch deposits you have to email the receipt to yourself first. The problem with this is, when you enter your email address in the blank field it then automatically updates the customers contact details with your email address, so you have to then…

Thanks for your idea here, Laurie. Appreciate the detail in your post and why you'd like to see this.

Its not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll continue to track the interest here and share any updates.

While not the ideal solution, for the time being to avoid updating your contacts record when you click send receipt from a batch payment, you could uncheck the recipients but have the option to 'Send me a copy' checked.

  5. When sending remittances from batch payments, all suppliers are automatically ticked whether they have an email address or not, but you cannot send any remittances to any suppliers if even one of the ticked ones is missing an email. This is a laborious process to go and untick the suppliers with no email addresses in order to send the rest.

It would be great if suppliers with no email address listed are either:
    1) already unticked, so you have to tick it to add an email and send the remittance to that supplier, but the suppliers with emails will work…

Thanks for sharing your idea in the forums here, Natascha. Can see how if you have a big batch this could save you time from having to scroll through and uncheck the suppliers that don't have an email.

While this isn't something we have immediate plans of we'll continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea here.

We have a big focus on enhancing and expanding our billing payment solutions across Xero and regions so we'll let you know if there are any plans that'd help in your idea here.

  6. I would really love to have a button where I can download a remittance advice for one certain supplier only in a batch payment transaction.

  7. I would like to be able to use JAX prompts to search bills to pay or to ask general questions about previously paid bills.

    For example:

    • Show me all the bills paid to supplier X before/after invoice date [insert date]
    • Show me all the bills for this amount [insert amount]
    • Find all the bills that were created with Tax Inclusive (or Tax Exclusive or No Tax).
    • Start a new bill for supplier [insert supplier name] with the following item codes [insert list of item codes]

Currently, JAX doesn't seem to have any knowledge about bills.

    It also seems to assume…

Thanks for your feedback, Mark. I've made sure this is shared with our product team.

We're continuously looking to prioritise use cases which our customers get most value from, so it's great to hear other ways you'd like to use JAX, here.

We'll keep you updated as we introduce more use cases.

  8. I've always felt like your software was created by people who have never used the software themselves because some of the pathways and defaults just don't make sense. Note: I access Xero using the Chrome browser.
Here are some changes that could be made that would really improve the user experience with Xero:

    1. When I'm entering bills, some date fields want me to enter the date like this: date/month/year and other times it wants me to enter it like this: month/date/year.  It's very frustrating having to switch back and forth randomly.

    2. After I finish putting in a bill, I click…

Hi Jenna, we appreciate your feedback and the detail you've given is great. However, it's best that strange behaviour or performance issues are shared with our specialists at Xero Support who have tools to be able to investigate and escalated with our team if something isn't working as it should.

    There are a couple of your points I wanted to confirm here;

    • Bills to pay - you are able to set a default page for this. It sounds like it may currently be set to Paid bills in your org. You can set the default by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the page where you'll see 'Default bill page' to select your preference
    • Default for bills due date - From the same place you can go to for invoice (Invoice settings) you can set a default Due date for your bills.

    I'd recommend raising a case…

  9. Hi, I would love the ability to select one of our bank accounts or credit cards on the awaiting payments screen for each bill. i can select the planned date however this only tells me when it is going to be paid and it would be useful for planning if i was able to select for example the credit card it is DD from or bank account to aid in budgeting and cashflow.

  10. It's very known for all that the space for batch payment details is very tie.

We hope from XERO staff to expand this space at least five times. to enable us write down whatever we should fill.

  12. Currently remittance advice can be sent based on payments. It is not possible to send multiple remittances at the same time without using the batch payment method.

As we have a lot to send, is it possible to look into some ways to send some remittance advice in a more efficient way for cases like with several payments to one person or multiple advice to multiple receivers? Or any automation for regular ones? Instead of downloading PDF one by one / sending email by payments one by one?

Hi team, we appreciate the feedback here and how an easier method of sending Remittance would be useful for some users.

While this isn't in the direct pipeline just yet we're staying close to the ideas around this in the forums here and will be sure to notify you of any progress.

  13. Include a place holder in the remittance email which includes the payment date.

  14. Batch payments - details don't copy over into right hand columns when doing batch payments . I have raised this with Xero and they have indicated that never been raised with them before . Has anyone found a quick solution to this?

  15. When making a bill payment using open banking direct transfer from bank account, it would be nice to be able to schedule the payment - currently there is no ability to do that.

Hi everyone, we have some updates in the UK with the bill payments method with Crezco. You now have more control of your cashflows with the ability to schedule bills to be paid at a future date using direct bank transfer. This helps to avoid potential bank charges for same day transactions, and missing due dates. Along with this you'll also be able to stay up to date with your payments with real-time payment status in Xero. Meaning you don't have to log into your bank to check the status of each bill payment. With an overview of all payments made using direct bank transfer, you have an accurate record of which suppliers have been paid, and when.

We know there are users from others regions also interested in the idea here and we'll share if there are any updates for expanding similar functionality in other places.

  16. I propose an update to the formatting of the cheque stubs so that summarize the list of bills that are being paid by cheque on the stub, not the individual line items.

I have a client that owns 12 franchise restaurants. Some of the bills that are received have to be split 12 ways. if multiple bills are received, we're looking at that many more lines on the stub. Can we please update the format of the stub to summarize the bills that are being paid to avoid confusion for vendors?

The attached stub is a payment for 3 bills.

  17. We have a client that has subscriptions that are paid monthly via card with a "debit order", can you create different payables folders and link it to each bank account so that normal operating expenses that are paid weekly can match with the business' current account and have a separate folder in payables that has all the subscription invoices to match in the bank recon screen

Hi Marinus, thanks for the detail of your needs here. While there's no particular feature for this right now, one option could be to use a consistent prefix that you add to the reference field of these type of bills.

When reconciling the payment in your bank account, you'd use Find & Match and could enter the prefix in the Search field to look up al the related bills for that period.

  18. The Contact Financial Details Reference field used to be populated with the last reference entered for a customer in the Customer Invoice Batch Clearing reference field. I have many customers paying by ACH or Zelle and have the same reference information each week. For my customers that I have had for a long time the reference field is copied from the Contact Financial Details Reference. But for any new Customers this functionality does not work and the field is blank in Batch Clearing. So I have to enter the reference for each blank line on the batch. Please add the…

  19. To attach proof/evidence of multi receipts/payments when that batch is a mix of invoice and also pre/overpayment, credit. We can attach to a single type of action, but not mixed. Keeps things tidy and also much quicker to see what exactly was in a batch, than to go back to a physical document holder

  20. The attached 'Supplier Statement' report has been 'retired'. Please consider reinstating this in Xero. We buy in euro and for financial audit purposes at every year end we need to issue this report. There is now nothing like this on Xero which makes no sense as we can't report without a mass of manual work to make a report outside of Xero.
