Widget for MTD on the Business overview hompeage
It would be really handy if I could have a MTD widget on my Business Overview page in the same vein as the VAT widget. Currently according to Jax this isn't available

Hyperlink products on invoices, POs, Bills, Quotes etc to their product page.
Often when you are loading a product into a document, you realise that you would like to change its data or you would like to check what you last paid for it, etc.
It would be fantastic if we could click on the item and the item name would be linked to that item's product page. Make sure that the link is the type that jumps to a new tab because otherwise you could lose a whole lot of pre-entered data by clicking on a link and it changing inside the same tab, which is really frustrating.1 voteThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. Add a button to the product page to generate a PO for that product
In Sales>Products & Services, add a button to create a PO for the products that are selected, which opens the new PO and waits for supplier selection. Pre-populate the PO with quantity of one.

Scan credit card receipts to draft bill process
I would like to be able to use a "Scan to draft bill" process that enables user's to scan and upload their credit card receipts directly into Xero without them being processed as 'expense' claims.
The process would allocate the receipts directly to the individual user's draft 'bill' (e.g. "Bob Brown - Nov-26") that was listing under a single creditor (e.g. "Mastercard").
Then I, or another accounts payable administrator, would check them off against their statements received once received from the bank.

tax return notify someone else is in it
When doing a tax Return in Xero Tax, it would be nice to know if the tax return is open and being used by someone else. Just a little note or icon that says in use or prevents you from adding any data to it.
I was working on the personal return and another was working on their family trust and income pushed across without me knowing.

Integrate Xero Platforms
Please integrate the Xero Platforms so a user can switch seamlessly between Xero Accounting and Xero Central without having to log in again.

advice and or special login for linking AI tools
Xero now links to various AI tools - chatgpt, gemini, ms copilot etc. The process to do this requires a Xero login to be given. Would it make sense to create a unique user login that the external tool has - who's permissions could be more controlled and not go via the users existing login? This would also give better auditability of the how the AI tool has interacted with Xero. And/or give users more advice around this area of security.

MFA
Administrators should have the option to force all users with access to their organisation in Xero to use MFA, and have positive confirmation on the user lists that each user has it enabled.

Hubdoc - Untracked item codes not appearing in Hubdoc dropdown list
I am looking to search for items by item code in Hubdoc when editing line items, rather than just by item description.
Currently, when I am adding line items to documents in Hubdoc, I can only search and select items by their description. The ability to search by item code isn't available in Hubdoc. This means I will need to use the item description to find and select the correct items from the dropdown list.
This is important that to search by item code would make the process more efficient, especially when you have many items to manage.

Approved Variations
Please add a separate “Approved Variations” summary box to Xero Projects, alongside the existing Project Estimate, Invoiced, Time & Expenses, To Be Invoiced and Deadline boxes.
We need to retain the original project estimate and separately record the total value of customer-approved variations. Ideally, the project summary would display:
• Original project estimate
• Total approved variations

Improved and transparent user consultation prior to implementing changes.
Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.
The product ideas section show, only in it's first 5 pages, 43 product ideas about new invoicing. Many of these product ideas are requests for previously available features to be made available again. Many of the ideas are under consideration or being worked on.

To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.
Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.

Xero Support - Change how 24/7 support is advertised
Xero advertises 24/7 support. My idea is that this representation is amended to reflect what support is actually offered.
Xero state that you can "Contact Xero for free and unlimited 24/7 customer support". To most people, the meaning of this representation is that you can communicate in real time with someone from Xero who can help. This is not the case.
The advertising claim should reflect that, while you can request support at any time, you will only get that support when Xero staff have the time to provide it, based on their triage system.

Pricing Plans - Option for a more basic version of Xero
We signed up several years ago, and were really happy with the software as it was. Now we keep update after update, and price rise after price rise. Our cost has now doubled in 5 years. I know there's fancy "features" added to it now, but I don't need them. All I want is the version from a couple of years ago. Accounting, payroll for 5, Classic invoicing, old style reports, old style bills page, old style contacts, no cashflow analytics.
Why not just make the older version available as a basic package for say £25 a month. No fancy…

Xero Support - Support chat feature
There should be a support chat feature, especially for new users. Drilling through support topics and forums is cumbersome for simple questions.

We appreciate this isn't a direct live chat feature that is being asked for in this idea and will move the status back to Submitted, however we'd recommend giving this a try when you're next looking for an answer while working in Xero.
This feature takes into account what page you’re viewing, and the version of Xero you use, to do the best to ensure that the information provided is relevant to you.
Live chat is not something we have planned at this stage but if any steps are planned toward this, we'll let you know here.

Xero Product Ideas - Improve navigation & search
There seems to be a trend to hide the button that is used to post a discussion or submit a product idea amongst others. It appears that you click on a link that you think should take to the "submit new product idea" page, and when you get there and enter in your idea, you realise it was a search box that is searching for existing ideas. Fair enough, force me to search first, patronising but I guess it reduces Xero's workload (not mine though). But where is the button to submit the product idea? And how do I get…
9 votesAppreciate the feedback, Martin. As you noted you do need to search ideas first and to create one you'll need to enter a forum and search where you'll then get an option to Post a new idea if lone of the results doesn't match what you're after.
Understand how this could be simpler and while we don't have any immediate plans on this, we;ll update you here if any are made.

Starter Plan - Annual transaction count
Sales question:
we want to buy xero. We only do 100 transactions per year, but we have one month which has more than 20 invoices and 5 bills, (an event we organise). does the basic subscription do monthly transaction counts only or can it do an annual transaction count.14 votes -

Xero - Option to flag a performance issue without having to raise a support case
I would like to be able to flag or log a Xero issue, without having to raise a case.
Sometimes my colleagues and I are having the same issue at the same time with Xero. Eg. Dashboard not displaying correctly, unable to change organisation from the dropdown menu. But when we go to https://status.xero.com/ everything is showing as "Operational".
An option of being able to click onto a region; setting; choose the issue would be great. That means that Xero could be alerted quickly if there is a wider issue, or if it's an isolated issue.37 votesHi everyone, we appreciate wanting to help Xero identify and raise issues asap. One area we know customers can commonly run into trouble with is bank feeds, and we do have work going on atm to enable customers to send us an alert if they are experiencing trouble with a bank accounts feed from within their organisation.
