Appreciate the idea here - Being transparent, developing granular permissions or roles for every feature and action throughout Xero is not in our plans.
Understanding more of the permission sets majority of users need, will help understand where the biggest impact could be made.
I've slightly adjusted the title to suit the needs of the role you mentioned. We'll get a sense of others that'd like this too.

Hi Neil, do you have an example of the sort of report you're looking for here? The Profit & Loss report will show you both the Gross Profit, expendable activities and Net Profit, which you can drill into the figures of to view the related items that make up the figure of in the Profit & Loss? Or is it something a bit different you're looking for here?

Appreciate your input here, everyone. This is a feature that our team have looked into and would like to develop for AU Payroll, however there are a few other key pieces of work lined up before they get a chance to explore this further.

An error occurred while saving the comment Neil Kagan commentedWhen generating a P & L report and filtering for a tracking category, the budget does not automatically change to the option selected. ie a new budget needs to be created for each option budget.
Make this automatic that when a new option is selected to generate a P & L report, the related budget appears automatically without the need to create a new budget. -

I suggest being able to create a list of things to do that can't be completed immediately. For eg include an amount of RFBA before finalising STP for the year or check a general ledger entry next week. This list could pop up when the client file is opened.
